  1. You were correct about 2021 being Harmony. Its exactly what you said it will be time for her dry dock.. Now I don't know if she will have a dry dock first and then do Med sailings or other way around. I guess they will announce this as soon as new schedules come out
  2. I would definitely pick New Jersey over Baltimore.. The ship that sails out of Baltimore is old and New Jersey has better options.. In the winter they often even have 10-12 night sailings you can do so you could really be on the ship for awhile.. Just my thoughts.. Whatever you decide happy cruising.
  3. The deal no longer exists on Harmony.. The choice is now the 3 night package or the Unlimited package.. I personally buy the Unlimited package for every cruise but that's because I think the food in the MDR is terrible.. Some people agree with me and some people still like it. Some people will tell you to buy the 3 night package, some people will tell you to buy no package, and some people will agree with me and say buy the unlimited. Basically you need to do what you feel is good for you.. I like the unlimited because it also includes lunch on sea days and I enjoy going to a different restaurant every night.. Have a wonderful cruise whatever you choose to do.
  4. Totally agree if I was in Europe for a 12 nighter I am not sure I could handle it either plus like you said I rather eat at some local cafe's for lunch.. Now I am even more excited for your blog so I can hear about all the wonderful places in Europe you are going!
  5. I am surprised to hear about what happened to you on Allure and I feel bad because 150 is such a great restaurant.. I personally am Not Team MDR. I have found that the quality of food is just not up to par for me so I personally but the unlimited package for every cruise but I am also a foodie and I like having lunch and dinner in specialty restaurants. I find the dessert on Royal in restaurants or anywhere to be not good so for lunch I skip dessert and then I don't have food fatigue but of course this is just my personal choice and I understand plenty of people enjoy the MDR and 10 years ago I loved it but sadly I find it has declined to much for me and if you can get on Symphony that would be the boat I would say try the unlimited package on.. I had the ultimate for it in January and it was awesome and I went to 150 twice. I get the package no matter what but for people who don't want it all the time I would say wait to get the unlimited for when you are on an Oasis class ship because there is just so many options. Also I am not really into drinking and the casino gives me free drinks so I don't have to buy a drink package so I guess that's also why I don't mind buying the dining package.. I am looking forward to your review of your vision cruise. Looks like its quite close and that should be a fantastic blog.
  6. Its been my favorite Mexican/Spanish restaurant for 25 years. I am so glad you got to go and Enjoy it.. Also don't stress too much about the dining package I get it every time and on the first day I go and make my reservations and I never have any issues. I am going on a quick 3 nighter next weekend and I am excited to try out the Unlimited dining package.. I plan to take full advantage of Playmakers and hooked seafood
  7. Awesome review.. Majesty was my first Royal Caribbean cruise but Its way to small for me now. Like you said just not enough to do especially when there is poor weather.. I am glad you really enjoyed it though. That Sushi guy was totally out of line. He should of never pressured you in the first place and I'm sorry you had to go through that. The more annoying thing is I bet he did it because he felt pressured by Royal and I hate that they pressure their workers in this way because ultimately it effects the guest and not in a good way lol. I think you made the right choice about keeping my time dining for Europe.. You are going to be tired some nights and might need to change some things around last minute (even though I know you are a planner and I am too but sometimes things happen.) I would of been really upset if my table mates showed up an hour late its just not right so I feel you on that too.. Also I love once upon a time. Amazing show especially for us Disney nerds.. Keep going the whole series is great!!
  8. Yeah that's a Voyager class ship its about middle aged.. Anyways see if there are any old compasses here on the blog site.. Like I said nightly shows are either going to be at 7:00 or 7:30 or 9:00 or 9:30.. They do this to accommodate the two main dinner seatings in the dining room.. Other than that there is no way of knowing in advance.. The cruise director makes up different times for different things every week. I would either make dinner reservations at 6 or 6:30 and see the 9 pm show or I would make dinner at 8:30 and see the earlier show..
  9. I would absolutely ask them to reprice it.. I myself am a travel agent and I would gladly do that for anyone.. I think people should reprice even for $25. Money is Money and everyone can always use money why should the cruise line keep it.
  10. If your on a small older ship you can't sign up for shows in advance.. The shows are usually at 7 or 7:30 and then again at 9 or 9:30.. What ship are you on exactly? Its possible we have some cruise compasses that you can look at. And also no they don't send you anything in advance sorry.
  11. ok Yeah I am pretty sure Central Park rooms have a sofa. Those rooms are Nice they are actually slightly larger than a balcony room. Good choice!
  12. Like Twangster explained they cant pack you food unless like he said some chips or candy.. Most people in your situation unfortunately just have to go to a restaurant on the island and buy food.
  13. I also feel it depends on the kind of cruise you are having.. I am a gambler and I go on many cruises just me and my best friend. Our goal is to eat and then get back to the casino to get a good spot at the black jack table.. However we are also foodies and not a fan of windjammer so we eat in all restaurants.. Like I stated before we wear shorts except on formal night where we put on pants and thats the kind of cruise we want.. However once a year my boyfriends family takes us on a "family cruise" all 16 of us. When we are on that cruise we must dress for dinner everynight to the point that I literally have to go shopping just for cruise clothes.. But I know going into that cruise what I have to do and so my point is I think it depends on the kind of cruise your having. Maybe your just with a best friend and you want to be super casual or maybe it is a big family cruise where you need to be more formal for pictures and all that.. All I am saying is I don't understand why other people care what others are wearing on casual nights everyone has a different circumstance and I think we should all just try and focus on our own vacations and do what's right for us.
  14. I noticed this is an inside cabin.. You might not even have a Sofa in your cabin.. Not all inside cabins have a sofa. In that case your son really will have to sleep with your brother lol snoring and all.. I really suggest calling a travel agent and getting the issue fixed. But I totally understand if you don't want to. Just be prepared there might literally only be a chair in your room and no Sofa..
  15. good point but I have taken many NCL cruises and they offer free popcorn during movies in the atrium and there was no popcorn all over the place. However, I do understand why Royal charges.. They do it because they can and they make extra money..
  16. no sorry.. this is only a perk for Oasis class ships and Quantum class ships..
  17. I respectfully disagree with you. I agree with Atlantix it is now very socially acceptable to wear shorts to a nice restaurant. I do this all the time and see many others in the restaurant doing this.. I highly doubt the ones not dressed in shorts are thinking gee I am here with my friends or family and I am really upset people are wearing shorts.. I just really don't think thats the case. And if its the case for you I don't really understand it. Why focus on me and what I am wearing I always sit at a private table so I am not bothering anyone. I just personally on casual nights don't feel the need to take my shorts off. I don't understand why that would effect your experience. At a nice restaurant if someone is wearing shorts does that really bother you? Do you really notice? I honestly care more about the people I am with and talking, laughing, and having a good time with than strangers wearing shorts.. Again not trying to attack you and you are of course entitled to your opinion but I just really don't get it.. Plus everyone has different circumstances.. I have a disability and it causes me to have sensory issues and honestly shorts are the most comfortable thing for me to wear. Now I know on formal nights I have to bite the bullet and be uncomfortable for 2 hours and I do it.. But on casual nights why should I sit and suffer just because it offends some random stranger that I am wearing shorts? I guess I will never really understand this but oh well like I said you are of course entitled to your opinion and I respect that I just respectfully disagree.
  18. So I just checked your room 9595 only has beds for 2 people.. There will be no room for your son in that room.. like others explained not all rooms work for 3 people that's why when booking they ask how many people in a room.. As others suggested I think you should transfer this booking to a travel agent and have them work with you and come up with the best option.. But it might be that your son has to room with your brother..
  19. There is one problem people are forgetting.. Since you booked rooms for 2 there is no guarantee that your rooms have a pull out couch. So you son might be stuck with your brother because there is no other bed for him..
  20. thats the best option Sabor doesn't have TV's.. If you were on Symphony with a playmakers I would say you have a better shot but I think it was a smart idea to get the internet and bring a tablet so he can make sure he gets to see his games.
  21. you definitely have to pay.. its $2.50 and when I went on my family cruise last year my father in law kept asking us what's with all the $2.50 charges lol we told him it was the popcorn.
  22. one more thing you forgot... If you get 3 rooms more people will have an actual bed.. Sleeping on Pull out couch and pullman beds really are not comfortable.. I would want the three rooms just to give more people an actual bed..
  23. Lol no problem.. I just double checked Miami's Website they charge $22 a night.. And I have found if you get there at 11 and get your car out before 11 they don't charge that extra day... my 3 nighters cost me $66 and I went on a 4 nighter in march and I paid $88 so I have a feeling they will be paying $88
  24. Matt it should of costed you $66 I do this about once a month and it comes out to $66 for 3 nighter.. Miami now charges $22 a day to park not $17..
  25. Nope I have done this all the time.. Its will be a 4 night charge and it should cost $88.. Its $22 a day there..
