  1. I respectfully disagree with you. I agree with Atlantix it is now very socially acceptable to wear shorts to a nice restaurant. I do this all the time and see many others in the restaurant doing this.. I highly doubt the ones not dressed in shorts are thinking gee I am here with my friends or family and I am really upset people are wearing shorts.. I just really don't think thats the case. And if its the case for you I don't really understand it. Why focus on me and what I am wearing I always sit at a private table so I am not bothering anyone. I just personally on casual nights don't feel the need to take my shorts off. I don't understand why that would effect your experience. At a nice restaurant if someone is wearing shorts does that really bother you? Do you really notice? I honestly care more about the people I am with and talking, laughing, and having a good time with than strangers wearing shorts.. Again not trying to attack you and you are of course entitled to your opinion but I just really don't get it.. Plus everyone has different circumstances.. I have a disability and it causes me to have sensory issues and honestly shorts are the most comfortable thing for me to wear. Now I know on formal nights I have to bite the bullet and be uncomfortable for 2 hours and I do it.. But on casual nights why should I sit and suffer just because it offends some random stranger that I am wearing shorts? I guess I will never really understand this but oh well like I said you are of course entitled to your opinion and I respect that I just respectfully disagree.
  2. So I just checked your room 9595 only has beds for 2 people.. There will be no room for your son in that room.. like others explained not all rooms work for 3 people that's why when booking they ask how many people in a room.. As others suggested I think you should transfer this booking to a travel agent and have them work with you and come up with the best option.. But it might be that your son has to room with your brother..
  3. There is one problem people are forgetting.. Since you booked rooms for 2 there is no guarantee that your rooms have a pull out couch. So you son might be stuck with your brother because there is no other bed for him..
  4. thats the best option Sabor doesn't have TV's.. If you were on Symphony with a playmakers I would say you have a better shot but I think it was a smart idea to get the internet and bring a tablet so he can make sure he gets to see his games.
  5. you definitely have to pay.. its $2.50 and when I went on my family cruise last year my father in law kept asking us what's with all the $2.50 charges lol we told him it was the popcorn.
  6. one more thing you forgot... If you get 3 rooms more people will have an actual bed.. Sleeping on Pull out couch and pullman beds really are not comfortable.. I would want the three rooms just to give more people an actual bed..
  7. Lol no problem.. I just double checked Miami's Website they charge $22 a night.. And I have found if you get there at 11 and get your car out before 11 they don't charge that extra day... my 3 nighters cost me $66 and I went on a 4 nighter in march and I paid $88 so I have a feeling they will be paying $88
  8. Matt it should of costed you $66 I do this about once a month and it comes out to $66 for 3 nighter.. Miami now charges $22 a day to park not $17..
  9. Nope I have done this all the time.. Its will be a 4 night charge and it should cost $88.. Its $22 a day there..
  10. I used to dress up for dinner. Not anymore. If the cruise compass says casual that's exactly what I do I dress in shorts. If it says formal then I put on my pants.. No one has EVER asked me to leave any specialty restaurant or dining room on casual nights when I wear shorts. I wouldn't do it on formal night but if it says casual why not be comfortable.. I know its not in the rules but RC does a horrible job of ENFORCING their rules.. Maybe on Liberty as someone mentioned they do but I have been on Majesty, Enchantment, Vision, Mariner, Navigator, Independence, Oasis, Allure, Quantum, Anthem, Harmony, and Symphony for a total of 52 cruises and never had an issue wearing my shorts on casual nights.
  11. I also don't think 2 bedroom grand suite is worth it.. Like every one explained it doesn't come with drinks package or genie. And fitting 8 people is going to be so tight. Now if you could find the 2 bedroom Aqua Theater suite then go for it! Thats Star Class and includes drink package, specialty dining, Genie the works.. Plus the room is much bigger and suitable to 8 people.. I had a 1 bedroom aqua theater suite and loved it.. I also had a grand suite and I can't imagine trying to fit 8 people in the 2 bedroom grand suite its just not big enough. Of course this is just my opinion and you need to do what you feel is right for you.
  12. Just thought I would share my opinion. I am 32 and I really like celebrity.. Sure its a more relaxed environment but I don't mind.. I find the food to be much better than Royal. I also find the beds more comfortable than Royal.. Also I am a gambler and I like that their casinos are totally NON SMOKING. This really is a plus for me.. They have the old style shows but I am ok with that. I know what I am getting when I go on celebrity. I like to mix it up I like Royal for certain trips and celebrity for certain trips.. But I don't think only old people have to go on it.. True I don't see many children but like I said I am in my early 30's and really enjoy it. I really suggest it for such places like Europe, Alaska, O Canada New England because they are more port intensive so less need for the extras that Royal provides..
  13. You are correct. They don't have hibachi on Anthem.. The area for Izumi on Quantum class ships is so small and in an awkward location in my opinion.
  14. Matt you forgot my fav.. He can also buy a Lotto Ticket lol oh I guess that falls under gamble.. But Still to me for some reason its different. When I was 18 I walked into Publix and bought my first Lotto Ticket lol
  15. I am 32 but an old soul.. I love the 4 seasons been listening to them since I was very little.. Also Jersey Boys is one of my favorite plays.. So not just for seniors lol
  16. I did not see anything like that when I was there however they do offer Tram service..
  17. I am glad these things exist now.. I am 32 years old and I have Asperger syndrome.. I am very verbal and open to talking about it.. But anyway when I was a kid my first cruise was at age 9 and it was very difficult for me.. I was extremely shy and scared of going to the kids program.. In fact I am not so sure back then they would of known what to do with a kid like me.. Now I still have my issues but I am high functioning (Went to a great college program that helped me really come into my own).. Anyway I love cruising but I still have issues especially sensory issues and even at 32 I call the cruise line and explain my issues and they help me anyway they can.. I am always allowed to have separate muster drills (the loud noise really bothers me also don't like to be touched by people so being herded outside like cattle doesn't work for me) But its great to know that they have come leaps and bounds with regards to their children's programming. Just thought I would share my perspective as an adult on the spectrum.
  18. Thats what's upsetting to me about the way Royal Markets Voom.. True Voom is only found on Quantum class, Oasis class, Enchantment and Majesty.. Every other ship doesn't really have voom.. Its frustrating to me that Royal is allowed to call it voom but its the way it is.. Only expect good service on the above mentioned ships..
  19. its kind of a hidden fee.. It literally costs me the same amount of money for me to Uber from my apartment 15 min from port everglades as it does from my apartment to port of Miami which is 45 min from my apartment.. A few years ago Uber was banned here because of all these Taxi companies getting pissed off.. Finally Uber lawyers came and fought it and Uber was reinstated well part of that was they charge more when Ubering either from Ft. Lauderdale airport or port everglades.. Why I don't know but they some how get away with it. It literally costs me $45 to Uber from my apartment to port everglades like I said 15 min away and costs me the same $45 to uber to port of Miami which is 45 min away.. Just something annoying I noticed about Uber but maybe someone who is not from here wouldn't notice that... Like I said it doesn't come up Fee on my receipt.. Also I tested this theory multiple times at different times of day so its not surge pricing its something else..
  20. Yeah sorry the policy is going to be 21.. I am not sure how they handle it when someone is turning 21 on the cruise.. You might have to wait until you get on the ship to find out
  21. Taxi drivers down here scare me lol. Always use Uber or Lyft.
  22. You would need an Uber XL because of luggage.. There is no way to tell you the cost because when you get off the ship Uber is in Surge Mode because so many other people are Ubering so the price goes Way up. Plus Ft. Lauderdale port and airport charge an annoying fee to Uber that Uber passes along.. So is uberring convenient to go to the airport yes is it the cheapest not sure about that.. The airport is literally a 5-7 min drive from the port but you just never know what uber will charge..
  23. Yeah I would change your dinner time if you want to see a show. The shows are usually at either 7:30 or 9:00 to accommodate the people who don't have my time dining.. I would either make your dinners at 6:30 if you want to see the 9:00 show or make your dinners at 8:30 or 9:00 if you want to see the 7:30 show..
  24. I know how to use Uber I use it in different cities but I am not sure if the rates go up just because its Ft. Lauderdale.. I live 15 min away due west in a suburb called plantation.. I recently had some friends come and when they ubered around plantation it was only $5-$10.. Now when they ubered to ft. Lauderdale it was more.. So maybe uber does charge a premium based on where you start from.. I know it also goes by the distance of trip but I guess it could also be on where you start from... I was just in Chicago last month and man let me tell you now those Ubers were expensive lol. we tried to walk as much as possible but one day it was 40 degrees, windy, and rainy and my Florida body couldn't handle it lol so my uber bill for that weekend was quite high lol. But glad your having fun. Now todays the best day! Cruise Day!!
  25. it depends where your going sometimes Uber is cheap sometimes expensive its a total crap shoot down here lol. I could never survive without my car..
