But more importantly, who ironed the guy's tux?

rjac got a reaction from RestingBird in Oasis of the Seas - Theme Nights? Prohibition Party? 2017
I don't think the gamblers in the casino would notice you in Prohibition costumes or your birthday suits......they only watch the cards, dice and slot machine wheels!

Not too silly. A lot of folks do just that. Grab a couple of beach towels and snore to their hearts content, especially after an evening of trying every drink the bars have to offer! Congrats to you son on his Eagle Scout achievement. If he decides to sleep under the stars, please caution him from carving is initials in the deck floor or hand rails, the staff frowns on that kind off stuff. Have fun on your cruise!

Don't throw them away!! Take them home, put them in a file folder/ large envelope and label it with the ship's name and dates. That way you will have them for future reference......which is good to have when there is a"family" disagreement on where you went/what your did on the cruise. :)

rjac reacted to Floski in Lifeguard at the Solarium?
I guess I can understand having them at the big pool(s), but the Solarium??
I'd rather have an extra waiter!

Also, don't fill up on the salad bar .... as a wise person once said it just fills up the space where meat is supposed to go.
Also, don't eat the salmon that has been sitting out on the salad bar .... as the husband of the couple we were with said .... I have to run to the restroom. Food poisoning is not as much fun as you might think ;)

Yeah, save money on food so they can spend it on cheap t-shirts and a sombrero!

rjac got a reaction from UkuleleCruiser in Best value? Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Falmouth
Falmouth Jamaica.....stay on board the ship. Unless you want to do some heavy duty shopping! Just do not go outside of the fenced in area, you have been warned.

rjac got a reaction from DocLC in johnny rockets - please explain it to me
Say what you want about JR, but, you cannot do better than "The Works" for breakfast. And, there is no charge for a breakfast in Johnny Rockets!. Just wish they had larger coffee mugs.

Let me try it this way, can someone who has used MEI in the past please post their phone number here or message it to me. I want to get a price for a cruise next year while RC still has their WOW sale going. Thanks!

rjac reacted to Jillbus in Royal Caribbean Credit Card
I have had a RCCL Visa for a year and half and was able to build up enough for a 7 day cruise for 2. So I guess for us it is worth it.

rjac got a reaction from catsmit in Why an aft cabin?
"working off some of those cruising calories!!" Amen to that!
-
rjac got a reaction from DocLC in Why an aft cabin?
Also, the aft cabin decks tend to be bigger. But the views pulling into and of port are most impressive. 180 degrees as opposed to 90 on a mid ship deck.

rjac got a reaction from MikeK in Georgetown Grand Cayman - to do?
Rob,
There is a Margaritaville in Gerogetown GC. Pretty decent hamburgers and other food, balcony seating overlooking, the port and lots of Jimmy Buffet music & videos and shade.

What is the 800 phone number for MEI? I would like to call them about a cruise in 2018, thanks.

rjac got a reaction from DocLC in Reserving Excursions
One other consideration regarding booking online or booking on the ship, and I know this from experience. Booking on board, you stand in line for awhile only to find out the excursion you wanted is sold out (as DocLC said above). So, you have now wasted valuable cruise time for nothing. Always better to book everything you can online at home rather than "on line" once on board.

rjac got a reaction from dejagatkins in Reading on a cruise.
I read that one, great read!. Here's one I read years back while on the Navigator of the Seas: Deep Descent by Kevin F. McMurray. All about scuba diving on the Andrea Doria which went down in 1956 after a night time collision off and rests at 250' on the bottom. It was interesting for me to walk around the Navigator and think about these divers swimming through the corridors, ballrooms, kitchen, etc. I'm a diver, but that depth is nuts for me!

Carney....talk about a serious cholesterol bomb! Good thing you work in the salmon with their heart healthy omega-3s. But, it does sound like one hell of a breakfast. ;)

It's not 2 bottles per person. It's two 750ml bottles per stateroom.
