Port Canaveral, Border control????
RestingBird replied to guittech's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
All this talk of going through customs quickly isn't for me. I like to complain about certain things, security in airports is one (though I do understand why it's so tight), so I don't mind standing in line forever, or being questioned for hours, it gives me something to complain about ? -
Oasis of the Seas Eclipse Cruise Aug 20, 2017
RestingBird replied to iamjohnbamber's topic in Live Blogs
I thought you forgot the rest of your days (last I checked you were only up to day 4). Ima go catch up now. -
Dag. If all goes as planned (rarely does), I won't be on Oasis until April 2019 ?. Hopefully Mr. Lindell will have passed on his recipe to the up-and-coming bartenders.

I have Oasis booked for 2019, so plenty of time to save up. In this case I'm doing the opposite of DocLC, taking the $300 OBC instead of price cuts that may save me $300 or $400 on the overall fare.

Allure of the Seas Cruise - Dolphin Shore excursion
RestingBird replied to mceagle's topic in Shore Excursions
I'd say get rid of YouTube ? We did a dolphin "swim" in The Keys, when I was a kid, and loved it. Hopefully you can find the info you need to make a good decision, it'll be a fun experience for her. -
Let us know how you like it ?!

Cuban cigars for sale on Allure?
RestingBird replied to Dinabug38's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I for one can tolerate cigars, and pipes, much more than cigarettes. Cigars seem to have "flavor", whereas cigarettes just seem stale. -
Yup, I'm on that site almost as much as this one. It's easier sometimes than the RC site deck plans...It doesn't lock me out!

A perfect example of why you fly the day before...
RestingBird replied to constable145's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I agree, and Alex Lifeson (sp?) doesn't get the credit he is due, phenomenal guitarist. @constable145, my wife agrees with you, lol. -

YYZ...Is that a Canadian airport named after the band Rush? Or maybe the other way around... -
I've had my RC card for almost a year now and got it for the extra OBC since we'll now be cruising with a child (every little bit helps). I pay for all my RC stuff with the card. Yes, if you make payments towards the cruise(s) it will get you double points, from any of the 3 brands/lines. So if your cruise is $5000, you'd get 10,000 points. Also, connect it to your seapass account onboard and any purchases not made with OBC will get you double points. Hopefully that made sense. I looked into the Celebrity card, but I don't spend enough to justify the annual fee. The perks are a little better with the Celebrity card if I remember correctly. Dig up and read all the fine print.

Give us a review when you return. Have fun!

My mom is from Cincinnati, and every time I've been up there (more times than I can count) they tried to get me to eat goetta...just couldn't do it, lol. Mom loves it. I can put down some Skyline though.

It rocks. You definitely need to try it.

Really not a whole lot, they're quite expensive for fast food. Good food though.

We just got a new Sonic here in town, I'm pretty stoked ?

Majesty of the Seas-Frustration
RestingBird replied to DannieM72's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
With all the new ships RC is building, it would be nice if they could at least send an older ship to Cali instead of selling it. -
So I can open and pour my wine in my stateroom, then carry it to dinner?

We sent our nephews post cards from Canada, took almost a month. Really gotta put 'em through a security check ?

Harmony of the seas pool questions
RestingBird replied to DisneyWorld30th's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Don't the Oasis class have a "beach" pool that you can walk into with no stairs or ladders? -
We shopped with our eyes only before our excursion (Jaguar Bus). Once the excursion was over we went back to the shops and bought what we liked earlier. Not sure what time frame all that happened in. But as everyone has said...you should be fine with afternoon shopping.

Bummer and major bummer ? The lounge sounds super cool.

On Serenade, last October, they had 1 aerial show.

Great questions! I might be able to give an answer for one or two. I've never been on Oasis, but my wife and I wouldn't book a room without being able to see the ocean. However, many people on this site love the boardwalk and central park rooms. What's important to you in a view? For a 6pm leave time I'd say no later than 5:30 to be back onboard, someone else might have a better answer. Get to Port Canaveral as early as you can. Boarding starts around 10:30/11. Sounds like the drink pkg wouldn't be good for you. There are a few articles on this site that might help. $200 would probably be enough, but you can use that $200 for excursions, specialty dining, any purchases onboard. Other cruisers suggest booking shows beforehand. In Falmouth we really enjoyed Dunn's River Falls. Have fun!
