FloatMe got a reaction from RobWhatley in Are we allowed a pocket knife?
They confiscated by best man's pocket knife, which was a groomsman gift, from his checked bag. And my sister had her swiss army knife confiscated from her carry on. Both were retrieved after the cruise.

FloatMe got a reaction from Jerel in What is the best holiday to spend on a Royal Caribbean cruise?
GROUNDHOG Day! Early February is a great time to escape Ohio, and if I were lucky I would have a bill murry-esque experience and get stuck repeating the day endlessly!
We have done New years and honestly, I would not choose to do it again. High prices & endless Christmas music. We are doing Halloween this year... I let you know.

FloatMe got a reaction from DocLC in Gratuities for Children
In round numbers the gratuities per passenger are broken down to $8 per passenger per day for wait staff in restaurants and $4 per day for cabin attendants. All other services and products like drinks come with an addition gratuity paid (added to our bill) at the time of purchase. It seems to me that $8 tip split amongst the various wait staff over at least three meals is more than reasonable for child or adult. Likewise for the cleaning service.

FloatMe got a reaction from Matt in Anyone have any experience with the ABC islands?
We loved curacao. Beautiful, not as touristy as st maarten but same dutch caribbean vibe. Our favorite caribbean island so far. Aruba was nice flat and dry. Great beaches and snorkeling.

FloatMe reacted to Christie in Oasis Thoughts
Just wanted to start a little thread with my random thoughts this far. First RCI cruise, western Caribbean. Used to be primarily a Disney cruiser
-Ship is a lot cleaner than i excepted
- After about a day, you get a good feel of how to navigate the ship
- There are less activities I actually want to participate in onboard than DCL
- Did chefs table last night. Cool experience but was 4 hours long (8 pm- midnight). Needed a designated walker back to the room
Labadee today. Looking forward to trying a labadoozie and falling asleep in our cabana. My one year old is licking the sea salt off of the table on our balcony right now. Kinda gross but kinda funny too. Have a great day, everyone

FloatMe got a reaction from Sweety in Junior Suite questions
Junior suite guests get:
Priority boarding in the suite line
Double crown & anchor points
Bath robes
Upgraded bathroom products
Tea and coffee in cabin
Silver SeaPass card
Real suite
I think the biggest thing is access to the consierge services and lounge. Free hors d'oeuvre and free drinks every night before dinner and help planning excursions, dinner reservations, show reservations, etc. If we have missed something or gotten closed out of an excursion or show, the consierge can usually make it happen for suite guests.
Also dedicated pool deck seating on some ships
Free pressing of clothing for first formal night.
Nightly free something in your state room. Cookies, strawberries, etc
Fruit basket the first day

FloatMe got a reaction from DocLC in Vouchers
I am also pretty certain you can call the main 800 # and ask for "gifts & gear" or direct at 800-722-5443 and purchase OBC. I do not know about how this works in the UK, but I know a lot of people from Canada do this to take advantage of a better than average exchange rate.

FloatMe reacted to Galveston Steve in Water bottles
Royal Caribbean offers 12-bottle cases of Evian bottled water that you can buy online prior to your cruise. These are 1-liter bottles. They are not cheap, but you get a slight discount for buying more than one case.
Officially, you are not allowed to bring any coke products onboard Royal Caribbean ships. They do scan the checked luggage and hold any luggage that appears to have bottles or cans in it until you come to the lower decks to claim it. Some people have been successful in carrying limited numbers of bottled water and soft drinks on board by placing then in their carry on luggage.

FloatMe got a reaction from Matt in Coveted RC trophy?
Bronze, silver and gold. There are many other rediculously inane activities on board in which you try to earn these treasures.
