  1. C'mon @princevaliantus, this topic title is akin to click bait. It's really only applicable to Quantum (Alaska) and Odyssey (Europe) sailings, which we've pretty much already knew was gonna happen. UPDATE: @Matt has since updated the topic title
  2. Right? This reminds me of our sailing on Rhapsody in 2017. The previous sailing had a small norovirus outbreak (20-30 cases). As a result, the ship underwent thorough cleaning for the remainder of that cruise, additional deep cleaning of common areas post-cruise (I believe it may have delayed the cabins being ready/opened), and the staff was continually cleaning "high-touch" items during out cruise. (hand-rails, elevator controls, etc.) and hand sanitizing protocols at dining entrances. I appreciated the efforts and it certainly didn't dampen my enjoyment. What was perplexing was the "grumpiness" of some people entering the WJ at the thought of having to use the hand sanitizer. The constant cry of "But I just washed my hands!" at the poor young lady holding the sanitizer was pathetic. How is she supposed to know and confirm that?
  3. If this new cruise planner just came out, how do they already know this? Was that information put out by an actual "authority" or by "under-bridge dwellers" trying to stir the pot? I don't visit that site, so I don't know if it's well moderated or akin to the wild west.
  4. I would assume that this is because so many flights by those "same day" flight/cruise people (BAD IDEA!) will arrive in the afternoon/early evening. This will likely be offset by boarding as early as possible on day one to begin taking advantage of all the ship and it's cruise planner has to offer; provided that you follow the often given (and very sound!) advise of planning to arrive the day before.
  5. Sorry, I did not know that. I assumed the OP was maintaining the list I do not know how often the list gets updated.
  6. @Matt, is @DocLCthe only member that updates the Master Member Cruise List? If so, are we sure that DocLC is ok? The cruise list hasn't been updated for quite some time and hasn't visited the site since December 10.
  7. "Not as great as advertised. No bar service. No Aqua Theater. No Pool. No Central Park. No restaurants. No Flow Rider. Crew was apathetic at best. One ."
  8. I getting really tired of seeing an adorable husky pup giving us so much pessimism! ? LOL!
  9. Waiting for the CDC to allow these test cruises while other portions of the tourism/travel industry progresses like.....
  10. Once I'm on board (January 29th!), I doubt I will notice it. ? I'm wondering if the lettering is just paint/decals. I've noticed on other RC ships that the name is actually cut-out steel letters that are welded to the hull.
  11. Ya know, I never gave much thought to amenity and activity differences in ships for different markets. As far as the sports court & mini-golf is concerned, doesn't that green patch look like a mini-golf area on the starboard side? Also it look like a couple of extra holes are on the port side. Anyone else concerned that the Flow Rider appears to be flowing toward the rear and a little close to the edge? It almost looks like the "less weighty" among us (not me!) could be launched over and into the Aqua Theater!
  12. "Back in my day, we had to pick up our food by walking in 4ft. of snow for 10 miles, UPHILL! BOTH WAYS!" ?
  13. I almost forgot to do this! January 29, 2022 Odyssey of the Seas
  14. Unless you're some sort or amateur, you can easily make up for those hours! ? Agreed, I will also be all over early check-in, I get that ball rolling as soon as I can!
  15. Best of luck, Joe! As long as your foot doctor isn't named Dr. Annie Wilkes, I think you'll turn out OK! ?
  16. Hey, @CruisingOz, just an FYI. I've had previous bookings that have added more excursion options closer to the sail date. For example, last January, we were looking to do something in San Juan at the end of the cruise and were finding very limited offerings (We had a late afternoon flight) At around 3-4 months out, more options became available that included airport drop off (Perfect!). Of course, take this info with a grain of salt right with the situation we face right now.
  17. Seeing your bad news/pessimistic posts combined with the juxtaposition of your smiling face in your avatar is really starting to annoy me! ?
  18. I'll have to dig around for the third party excursion link we used to book it. (All, is it allowed to post third party excursion links here?) I know that recently, RC cruise planners with St. Maarten port stops have "Topper's Rhum Tour & Beach" excursions listed. Also, Topper's FB page has listed that, as of November, they have a new location that incorporates the Rum Distillery and the Restaurant/Bar into one waterfront location!
  19. Last January, we booked a third party excursion to visit Topper's Rhum, a local distillery with MANY varieties of rum available for tasting. In addition, it included lunch at Topper's restaurant and a couple hours of semi-private beach time. (Transportation included) The year before, we rented a small car to drive over to the French side to go parasailing at Orient Beach and also to visit Topper's Rhum. (What can I say, we like their products!) Agree with @AlmondFarmer, the nude beach does not live up to any teenage fantasies you've ever had! ?
  20. If I recall, We paid on the home page using my SeaPass on Grandeur to Check-In and get boarding passes for our next day flights. There were a couple tiers of service available. I believe, one hour was $9.99, a full day was $18.99. You're issued log-in info to the ship's internet service upon paying. While we only paid for the one hour, I found that we had wi-fi access for about 4-6 hours on my phone.
  21. I've never had a ship that I wouldn't sail on again. I do have an itinerary that I wouldn't sail on just based on the time of year went. (Southeast Coast/Bahamas out of Baltimore in January, Cold and rough seas) Right now, though, I'd take ANY ship with ANY itinerary. It's been one full year since we've cruised and were supposed to be on our way to Miami TODAY for a 9-Night Southern Caribbean. ?
  22. It's in the corner of the Solarium as indicated by the silverware icon on Deck 9.
