It really depends upon the port and how many people are within the port and the cruise. US ports seem to be handled different  than foreign ports. If I was Gold I would just get in the C & A boarding line and  check in. The worst thing they can do is move you to another line.

It depends upon the ports and the times the ships are set to dock and leave. Back to back the same day would require some work. Have you though about looking into the option of the first cruise ending on Saturday & the second starting Sunday? I would be more comfortable with that.

I'm not surprised by the pictures or the post.  It is Asia and what is considered unacceptable in the United States is just normal life here.  Even simple things from everyday life. I'm sure Royal ordered enough hand sanitize to take care of the whole ship. But it was sitting in transport or customs, or in the warehouse and not delivered yet. Royal does try but you will never get the same standards on a cruise from Asia as you get on a Miami cruise. I was in a  very nice hotel restaurant (Worldwide Hotel Chain)  last night here in the Philippines, and a Greco Lizard about 5" long ran across the wall.... No reaction from anyone in the place, it was nothing. Vs have this happen in the United States and the Board of Heath would have been doing a inspection and clients would be demanding refunds.

So while Royal should do  a better job and is trying to do so you really need to understand is they are trying to apply first World Standards in the Third World.

Can tell you about the Australia  office but I believe it is run the same as the other offices. When you get the robo operator you need to clock and answer like you want to book a new cruise.  The sales and customer service people are 24 hours but for new sales only. If you answer you already have a booking or information about a booking the robo operator tells you call during normal hours.

But you can re book with them and get same cabin but you will lose the on board credit.

The NorthStar observation tower  uses a 7.1-ton glass-walled capsule on the end of a 41-meter-long (135 ft) crane arm. It goes up to over 300 meters above the waterline and can move in a ark from over the port side of the ships to over the starboard side, but it cannot go down over the sides,  just up and over the edge of the ship.  With up to 14 guests at one time.

Well,  if you read the thread or any of the information here you never would have made your posts. I said in the second post here it is cheaper hire a direct taxi or limo. And yes the ship was not in port when they gave you the information. But where do you think the information came from
and how do you think the ship got the information that they have on the ship? From the port when they docked the port gave them a package with complete information.... it was that information that guest services used.... it is that information that the ship has but Corporate does not have..... But that was again already made clear within this thread.

I'm sorry but I did not miss the point. Royal customer service did not have the information and does not maintain this information on many non US Ports. Singapore is just so well run and has such great systems in place that they give complete information to every ship once they enter the port. Singapore markets its services directly to the ships. SO if you call customer service they have no information like many other things that happen on the ships and at the ports but the ship itself has much more information.

Is it the best cruise ship in the line? Absolutely it is not, but as others have pointed out it is your first cruise, it is a better ship than what many other lines offer, and it is really a big ship compared to most cruise ships even a few years ago. You are on a short cruise and will find lots to do, so I believe you will like it. Also it is much more a true ship than the current super liners, it has open decks and areas to walk around, and classic ship lines.  And again as others have said..... It's a Cruise... relax and enjoy.....

Todd got a reaction from DocLC in Voom Question!!!
Yes DocLC is right you need to purchase to take advantage of the sales in place. If Royal is having a sale I do pre purchase, and I check for the codes in my cabin, they are never in the cabin so I just log on and agree to add to my sea pass account, and they bill to the account as a new normal purchase. Once I have the codes I go to guest services and tell them to remove the on board internet charges.

This has worked every time but once it required escalation to a meeting with the Hotel Director before they agreed to remove. Really they have absolutely no choice as I had a package, they failed to follow the terms, and without removing it they cannot charge my credit card for the cruise, as  I withdraw the authorization under the credit card processing rules. Most people do not want the hassles of dealing with Guest Services or the credit card providers, I find it easy.

Todd got a reaction from EmersonNZ in Dynamic dining- Ovation- do you have to book??
You should be able to eat at the Grand almost every night if you wanted. Because it is a extra cost restaurant and at the higher end I do not see it being full.  It looks like Dynamic Dining is about as successful as the maiden voyage of the RMS Titanic. If you don't get what you want you should make your views known, you paid for the trip with meals, Royals problems with the program are on Royal.

I completely agree.  Quantitatively, she is far from the best ship.  Qualitatively, though, people can make her fabulous in their minds.  I think this is particularly true with the Oasis class.  While many would argue they are the "best," I have also heard many state how they would not sail on the class again, preferring the much more manageable sizes of the Freedom and Voyager classes.

I for one am more interested in itinerary, so I could care less either way.

You will always find a few people that believe something. You can find people that believe anything and everything. When I sad it is not the best cruise ship in the line, I was talking based that upon independent travel industry information, not what a few passengers believe or say. No real evaluation of the cruise ships within Royal could ever say it is the best ship.

I have received my CCL OBC every time I have requested.   I am considering a purchase of RCL in the coming months.   Moral of the story, you will never know if you don't ask.   Always fax in my documentation with little effort...it's not a big deal.

Also notice just his first name on the card?  Tying to imply maybe that we treat our suite guests like family?  Great if you are a suite guest but can make the common normal guest feel unwanted or welcome.  Like the third class Titanic passengers held back out of the first class section as the ship sank.

From the cruise lines side I can see how they would not want drones flying around the ship. It could be a major safety issue. The drone could fly into something, someone, or on the security side someone could use a drone to see things they should not. Not just looking into cabins, but ships security. And since they are radio controlled that to could be a issue. Private communication systems (except cell phones) are not allowed on cruise ships.

While I do not think the OP had any negative plans it just seems to be a bad idea.

In this day and age no reason you should make any larger purchase without checking on the web. If you just enter the name and model and hit search you can have the real pricing within a few seconds. I do this with the seller standing in front of me. And then use the interest price as the basis of what I will pay.

Should be no problem as WAAAYTOOO already said, and told you how to get a private table. But if for any reason that does not work, just talk to the officer in charge of the main dinning room on the first night and he /she will correct. The first night is open time and seating, you can go anytime and they ask you if you want to be alone or with a group.

Everyone needs to understand that C & A is not design to give away stuff. It is a marketing tool that the company uses. The goal is to keep customers and get more money form us. Once the ships are at 100% capacity the need to offer extras goes down. The more people that make it in C & A and use benefits that cost the company dollars out of pocket, the closer Royal will look at making changes to the program. It is just marketing.

Todd got a reaction from UkuleleCruiser in Photo prices?
The photos are offered as single prints, CD, or in packages. The packages can be CD only, prints only, or CD and Prints. The pricing is high for the packages and depends upon the length of the cruise. The total package, all prints and CD is $249 to $399 but discounts are offered for C & A and some on the ship like $50 off package promo.

But if you want to purchase a single photo the price is around $30. They also seem to offer a package of a few photos for around $100 dollars. The photo package can be a good deal if you have them take many photos. Reynaline loves photos so while is may seem like a very costly package with 100 to 200 pictures per cruise the costs is much more reasonable per picture.

If the Genie cannot do that at the least the whole program should be ended. You are not asking for much, dinner reservations for your whole group. I would think any passenger group on the ship, should be able to get this basic level of service done. Really the only thing you are for is a group reservation.
