I'm with the two above.  I usually get there early, sometimes even before the windjammer opens at 11:30.  I'm one of those who, on the morning of the cruise, is wound up and nervous until I set my feet on the boat.  Then I relax.

I've done it, no you don't have to lay back.  Unless they changed the way they do things.  When we went it was one and done.  Not really impressed by it since we have zip lined in several locations.  We did it once and doubt we'll do it again.

I was on the Yosemite (AD-19) in Mayport 1982-1985 and then again 1992-decom.  I was an Instrumentman. Made it to E6 before I retired in 2001.  Sure do miss Florida and the Navy.

I just did a scope Near Mayport on Friday. I was spending the Day at the Beach, at Hugenot Memorial Park, which is very Close to Mayport Navy Base. Got a shot of one of the Navy Ships on my Scope.I was also a HM3 when I got out. I got out, to be a Mom! 😉

We've used these people several times --http://parkcruise.com/
We never had an issue, usually you will have to wait for others to show up but if we carry off, we're on the road by 8:00.
    You hold the keys..
Also, if you park with them (I think) six times the 7th is free.

I've seen peoples doors decorated.  And they will do some decorating but it cost you.  Not sure of restrictions, guess only tape and magnets.   Of course you could attempt to bring a nail gun.. Would make for interesting conversation at the security line...

As a Royal Caribbean fan, I know what the TA was alluding to.  Going from Liberty to Majesty would have been a pretty big change in many different areas.  Heck, going from Voyager/Freedom/Quantum/Oasis class to Radiance, Vision or Sovereign class is a big difference.

I think we all agree that size and/or age does not correlate directly to a positive or negative experience.  Enchantment and Brilliance are both great ships.  I do think it is important to know the difference and manage expectations.  I remember on my 4-night Brilliance cruise, a guy next to me at the pool was complaining about how there wasn't as much to do on Brilliance compared to his recent Oasis cruise.  Well.....yea!

I agree with others I would have no problem with shorter cruises on Navigator or Independence, which are certainly not small or old ships.  And Enchantment and Brilliance are great choices too.

I love taking cruises in general, but 3-4 night cruises are a tease.  L454S brought up a great point about the costs and value from a shorter cruise.

If you are just looking for a getaway cruise, that's fine but it's important to understand what ship you pick and the differences compared to Liberty.  Also, be sure to keep in mind most 4-5 night cruises sail over the week, so if you are going to take 4 days off of work for a cruise, just go for a 7-night cruise and tack on one more vacation day.  :)

I shut my devices off and enjoy the ride. So to me, not worth it. I'll post pics when I get home, don't want anyone knowing I'm away on vacation whom I haven't already told.

I've found the park cafe gets really crowded and its small.  But it seems to move quickly, be ready to hunt for a seat.  Personally, of me, it would be the Liberty.

On some ships Izumi is free because its part of the Wind Jammer.  On others it is its own space. If I can remember we ate lunch on Oasis and dinner on the Freedom in Izumi and it was ala carte so I'm sure Allure is the same, BUT it has been a few years and the memory is winding down..  We ate at Sabor on Freedom last November, don't remember the cost but pretty sure it wasn't ala carte. And if you want to get your feet off the ground, try a tequila flight.  It was pretty good...
