  1. For rum, Labadee -no, at least not that I've ever found since it belongs to RC.  Falmouth there is a nice liquor store inside the compound that might have some Ron (might not be Xo).  Can't remember if I ever saw any (I usually look for stuff I can't find in the states).  Cozumel, you can get tequila.   After all, it is Mexico...

True for sure,  though sometimes i have glasses, etc, that I don't know where to leave.   I usually try to have it  "join a friend" so at least the wait staff can try to take more in one trip.   Jane

For glasses, I usually leave it in the room or take it to a bar. But I've been known to pick up stuff that others have left.

When you say you cover with a "plate" as in coming from Sorrentos.  Is that a paper plate?  Or something heavier?

I figure paper plates on a ship could be a bad thing as people are slobs and next thing you know paper plates and cups are being blown all over the deck and onto balconies!

    Napkins too!

The type of plate doesn't matter, there are a lot of slobs onboard who will just drop whatever, where ever.

I, too, don't think this will really expedite boarding. By getting rid of the photo stop/sea pass card production station, perhaps Royal is looking at another way to save money......which they will pass on to us the customers!:27_sunglasses:

Thanks for the laugh this morning...

The last time I cruised RCCL (late 2015) I was issued a sea pass upon check in and it took maybe 15 seconds.  They take your photo and the card is produced right there, almost instantly.  I had already checked in online with all of my passport information.

Have to agree with Cruise-y, don't recall a problem checking in.  Never at the counter more than 5 minutes.  But since I have no say in what they do, guess I'll have to do what they say...

Thanks arebee. Oooh any particular kind of hot sauce? Love Fat Tuesday... Will grab a drink there for sure. Never been to St Thomas or St Maarten... But if they do good rum they're on the "to visit" list :1_grinning:

They're on the list! Thanks :11_blush:

Nothing in particular.   There is a store (actually several) that sell all kinds of hot sauce.  Take a chance and just grab a couple.  In St Thomas, the shopping on the pier there is a liquor store that sells Bones rum.  I usually get 4 to 6 bottles when I'm there.  Bones also have a store on the main drag along the water, there they have slurpee machines where you pick what flavor you want then they set the bottle of run on the bar and say help yourself.  Yup, been there a couple times.

For me the big perk is to get in a shorter line at boarding, if you get there early it's not that big of a deal but still nice.

The top tier event was nice too, they had lots of free drinks, tables full of different flavours, just walk up and grab one.

And although not much but the balcony discount did save me some money on upcoming cruises.

Plus you can feel all high and mighty. On the last group cruise I was platinum for the first time and made a point to tell all these pathetic gold members how important I now was, lol. The term 'Gold lives matter' was thrown around more than once.

Last few top tiers we've been to there was none of that going on.  They had sweet drinks but nothing to eat.  We pretty much stopped going because of that.

Robes and lapel and the top tier are the difference really.

Balcony discount is nice, but I still cant afford it even with the discount.

Next up for me is Emerald...getting close but don't think there is a big jump there either.....still striving for Diamond at this point!

I know what you mean, we are 12 from diamond...  I want to hit that this year but might not be able to.

  8. If you are only going to the Bahamas I can't help on the rum.  St Thomas and St Maarten are where I like to buy my rum. About the only thing we buy in Nassau is hot sauce and my wife like Caroloha so she goes there and spends too much for sock.  I did notice last month that they moved a Fat Tuesday down to the main street (Woodes Rodgers Walk).  You can see it from the boat if you don't have another blocking your view.  I like to go there and get 100proof slurpees.

The best way to avoid commotion and crowds for disembark is to be in a full suite and have the Concierge escort you off (this process was a disaster on Navigator in Miami.  No help at all from the Concierge) or even better - have a Genie that will take you personally to the front of the line !

Short of that, being early in the line for self disembark is probably the best solution.  BTW, on our Grandeur cruise last month, they started the self-disembark line by placing their luggage in position VERY early.  I don't know how comfortable some would be with placing their luggage in line and then leaving it to go eat but many did it.  There were LOTS of suitcases lined up with no people manning them when we got there.

That's when I would go to the first one with no one and stand there.

Just got off of Grandeur and there was a man with a big ol' fuzzy baby (big service dog) and they were absolutely GREAT !  All of the lady dealers in the casino were gaga over the dog.  It was a lot of fun.  I did wonder, however, where the dog used the bathroom.  As Doc suggests, I suppose the ship makes those accommodations.

Every place I've seen was a box with mulch in it about 3x3 on deck 5 aft starboard.

The reason they are folded is to make them more sturdy.

Here's a good overview of the luggage tags: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2014/12/21/royal-caribbean-luggage-tags-everything-you-need-know

I recommend use these plastic luggage tag holders. Makes it so much easier.

Those are nice but I bought the larger ones (I think they are for Carnival) just in case I use them for a different cruise line.
