It's scenarios like these that led me to cancel everything several months ago, grit my teeth and wait it all out until cruising fully resumes. It relegated me to a couple of land vacations. It could be a LOT worse, and I am grateful for the opportunities I have and the memories of being on RC ships. Ultimately, it is helping me save some money for when the right situation comes along even if it pushes against my addiction to certainty. I will say that if Royal brokers an insurance transaction even if they aren't an agent, that they should go to bat on those refunds. They should insist n that with those carriers.

Announcements will happen when they happen and cruising will start when it starts. It seems like with all the news last week, a lot of pressure came off the CDC. I wonder if that's a good thing (I think that's a bad thing because I am too much of a pessimist). I'd love to see more news about the lawsuits and of the CDC being dragged through the mud. I just want our certainty back so we can YOLO book it when we want and know we are going to sail...unless there's a charter that pushes me out.

Isn't each billion dollar loss equivalent to the time it takes to capitalize a new ship now? I wonder how many ships would have been in the fleet without the pandemic verses with by the year 2025.

I agree with the sentiment regarding inconsistency in some areas. The thing that puzzles me are the times I do mock bookings and it is cheaper to pick my own room than a guarantee. I wonder if those issues are IT related or some sort of marketing strategy I don't understand. I also wonder if their financial analysts are trying to get so dialed in with maximizing revenue during booking and on board, they do it at the expense of those who are less forgiving of the inconsistency.

If there are any cabins to consider that are awesome...I wish I did it when I sailed on her...are the panoramic ocean view cabins on deck 12...there are also 14 of them that have balconies. They will sell out fast because there aren't many of them.

I've liked DeSantis because he throws it back in the face of the press when they take things out of context...I like him even more for suing the CDC...if any Floridians want to send him to TN so you can take our loser governor, I am into that.

Florida and Alaska reps are already exerting pressure. We need to get flyover reps aware and involved. Becerra is not going to do anything until these agencies are shamed publicly. It's the language they speak, so I have my duolingo app set on it.

I saw this was posted on FB earlier this morning...I bet half this forum has seen it already, but I have to say, it's about time for this tone of a letter, and I think it's spot on.

I'd like for Royal to consider a policy for those who have had it and don't see a need for a vaccine.

For those of us who are likely to abandon cruising if private companies require it, and are disgusted with inconsistencies among worthless American "authorities," I think it does have relation to cruising. Letters and emails to our political betters who we put in office might yield a form letter response as it falls on deaf ears (I get responses about 30% of the time), because no on can criticize the CDC.

No one in DC will respond or listen. You may get a form letter back. There aren't enough of us to make an impact. Cruising is probably done.

My snarky follow up to my previous response is that I hope the CDC keeps kicking the can down the road to where Cozumel becomes a huge cruise embarkation port that is preferred to FL, and the CDC gets the blame for destroying the US market permanently.
