  1. @AmbitiousAliciawe actually ended up renting a car from the port to LAX so we could do some shopping and lunch on our own. Since there were 6 of us, it was much cheaper to rent the car than pay for each of us on the excursion.
  2. Sorry for bumping this, but are lobster nights only on the 7 night cruises? We will be on a 5 night but people say there are 2 dress to impress nights.
  3. Those tests are $70 for a set of 2, so $35 each. You can also get $7 $12/test back from insurance on them. There are also a lot of people selling the emed tests because the US got rid of the re-entry testing requirement. I saw some people in FB cruise and travel groups selling them for $20-$25 each. Just double check the expiration dates to make sure they work for you.
  4. Navi 5-night: Saved $400 on cabin 1 (KSF) and $100 on cabin 2. Happy as a clam!
  5. Are points important to you? If you reprice as solo, I believe you get double points for sailing solo. Probably best to see what the price for the same cruise would be as a solo and then decide if it's worth it. It might have even gone down. I repriced an upcoming sailing for KSF and checked the 2nd cabin (with no kids) for the heck of it - it also went down due to some other discounts. So you never know.
  6. Why does she need to go to the Casino? Every swipe at the arcade, the game tells you the balance on the card and asks if you'd like to proceed. You can click "no" and it won't deduct anything.
  7. I think they're having a materials/bottling shortage for the aluminum cans and bottles. We had plastic bottles on Navigator a couple weeks ago.
  8. Confused why CWC wouldn't apply? OP said they booked (obviously before March 31, 2022 based on the time of his post) for a cruise this September. All this is within CWC. He would just get issued FCC for any amounts he has paid and he'd be able to use it for up a year after the original sailing date. Seems like that would be a good option after he recovers?
  9. The survey is so confusing because it doesn't ask if we were invited to complete the survey. It asks if we were asked to provide positive reviews. If they changed the question so that it actually says what it means, that would be great. The way it is worded now seems like a penalty for servers being too pushy.
  10. @MomtoARQI thought the terms stated that you had to book through RCCL in order to use the OBC from myvegas? I would be surprised if a TA would be able to apply it. I don't have a copy of the terms, but I recall they were pretty restrictive so we never redeemed points for it even though we have tons of points and they were available multiple times.
  11. Can you email Club Royale at [email protected] to see if they can connect you with a supervisor who can sort it out? Isn't this still under Cruise with Confidence? I wonder if you can cancel and start over?
  12. @MattPlease consider making more YouTube content! I’m sure they take a ton of time to produce, but I really enjoy your videos. Then the snipers can’t steal your ideas (well, at least not before you’ve already beat them to the punch).
  13. I saw on the mlife website that you can call a phone number to link your mlife account with Royal Caribbean to get some additional perks. I'm a lowly mlife Pearl, so all I would get are quarterly cruise offers and an entertainment tour (some reports also mention a departure lounge - but I don't see that listed anymore). While the perks aren't too exciting for Pearl, I wouldn't mind getting the cruise offers just to check them out, but when I called the phone number, the rep got my mlife number, my crown and anchor number, put me on hold for a few minutes, and came to say that there's nothing to link because I don't qualify for OBC. I don't know what that means - so they don't link accounts unless you get OBC? So Pearl and below will never get linked? How would we get the perks then? Here's what it says on the website: "How do I access my MGM Rewards Benefits with Royal Caribbean or Celebrity Cruises? MGM Rewards members must validate their tier status by calling Royal Caribbean at (1-800-762-0702) or Celebrity Cruises at (Platinum & NOIR: 1-888-858-4478; Sapphire, Pearl, & Gold: 1-855-227-2537). Benefits must be requested at the time of the initial booking and at least ten (10) days prior to the cruise’s departure date."
  14. @KristiZhow long was the ride from LA to the port? What car service did you use? Thanks!
  15. @jbrinkmI do not believe your reservations are linked correctly. Please make sure your TA is on top of this. I can see both linked rooms on my app at the same time. If you can only toggle between them but not see them together, it might mean they are not linked correctly.
  16. So this is just anecdotal example, but I think it really is a complicated algorithm with not only how many open cabins there are, but also with what room category you're currently in, how much inventory is open in the categories, how many people are in your room, etc. I booked 2 rooms for an upcoming cruise (separate reservation numbers). First cabin (4 people) room category is wide open - like 90% open. My royalup offer is only letting me bid on one other room category and no suites. <- they really want me to just stay in my room, IMHO. Second cabin (2 people) is also wide open, but closer to 40% open. The second cabin can bid on every room category, including suites and 2-bedroom suites. The rate we paid per person was the same for both of the rooms. (We aren't going to bid because we chose these particular rooms for their locations.)
  17. Not sure if this is what you're talking about, but the cruise planner sometimes "saves" you logged into one session and won't let you open another session (even on the same browser). Usually will time out after 15-20 minutes though and you can log back in.
  18. @DebsGlassThis post shares how you can mirror your phone to the TV, but I have not personally tried this and do not know if it currently works.
  19. I tend not to buy masks on Amazon due to their 3rd party commingling stock so you can’t ever be sure if it’s 100% authentic, but I get masks directly from from authorized distributors: KN95 masks bonafidemasks or KF94 masks from behealthyusa, Kollecte, or MaskLab. These style of masks are great for keeping the mask off your mouth. Different family members like different brands, but BOTN (adjustable ear loops), LG Airwasher (adjustable ear loops), and MaskLab (non-adjustable) are the ones we use most. Good luck and stay healthy!
  20. @BeachGal I mostly want to just pass the time before the flight without sitting in an airport for 6 hours. I’ll have my luggage with me, so I don’t think sightseeing on my own in Long Beach will work. I also won’t have a car.
  21. Has anyone done the Los Angeles shore excursion with airport transfer? It includes highlights of LA and Rodeo Drive. There’s a shorter one (Rodeo Drive only) as well. We booked a late-ish return flight because we didn’t know how long disembarkation would take (in case there were unforeseen circumstances). Otherwise, I’m not sure what we would do for 6+ hours until the flight if we disembark early-mid morning. (Although some of that would be for LA traffic getting to LAX.) Take in some of the famous landmarks of Los Angeles. You'll pass the Los Angeles Coliseum Sports Arena, the Museum of Natural History, University of Southern California and the downtown area. At Olvera Street, one of the oldest streets in the city, you will have a brief time to stroll through this historic area, complete with Mexican handicraft shops, sidewalk stalls, and cafés. Re-boarding the coach, you will head for Hollywood. At Grauman Theater, you will have approximately 45 minutes to see where past and present screen stars have left their hand- and footprints in the concrete at Hollywoods Walk of Stars. Next, explore fashionable Rodeo Drive, the preferred shopping area of the rich and famous. Your tour concludes at the Los Angeles International Airport. Note: This tour is only available to guests with flights after 5:00pm.
  22. Stay safe! Your videos are what convinced me to book RC coming up in 2022. Hopefully you can help clear some of the confusion.
  23. Thanks everyone! My TA was able to find the reservations in her system so we are all set (neither myself nor my TA received the confirmation email).
  24. Thank you. That’s what she attempted to do before, but the RCCL rep told her that only I can initiate the transfer. (Which is how then I got involved.) I’ll ask her to reach back out to RCCL and see if she can move this along. So weird!!
