The last few ships we've sailed on had NO pads on the chaise lounges in the Solarium pool area. What's up?
-
We had the roof opened up on Vision of the Seas when temps got really nice. My biggest complaint is not having padded lounge chaises as advertised.

I just read this article that passport turn around times are getting shorter.

Well, hopefully this system does not turn out to be Irritable Bull Sh*t

Just received the same email. I think we already prepaid but will check with our TA.

In one of the shutdowns there were no tours to the Arizona.
-
I'm curious if the impending government shut down will affect any tours in Pearl Harbor.

Today we received our cruise documents and luggage tags. I see the internet prices went up by $1/day. We would like to order the 3 night dining package but it's still not priced favorably. This will be our ninth cruise since January of last year. Sailed on this ship last September and really enjoyed it.

Since Ovation will not be stopping at any of the islands except Oahu to drop us off and our new stops are Victoria on Vancouver Island and Seattle we'll just have to make the best of it. As far as Seattle is concerned we plan on staying on the ship.

I received this email today regarding the change in itinerary due to the devastating fires in Maui.
Dear Guest,
Due to the devastating wildfires in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii, we’ll now visit Victoria, British Columbia instead. Additionally, we’ve added a visit to Seattle, Washington on Day 3. We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused by this, nonetheless, the safety of our guests, crew, and the communities we visit are our highest priorities. Below, please find our revised Ovation of the Seas October 6th, 2023 itinerary.

In Victoria, enjoy a delightful blend of Victorian architecture and beautiful outdoor spaces. Stroll along the Inner Harbour and admire views of the Parliament Buildings and ornate totem poles at Thunderbird Park. Explore the colorful and aromatic Butchart Gardens and be sure to try a ride on the hand-carved Rose Carousel. In Seattle, experience new heights at the Space Needle with a 360º view of the city from a vantage point unlike any other. Check out the Museum of Pop Culture for a throwback to some of the most memorable pop culture moments throughout the decades. Whatever you decide to do, we know you’ll have a memorable time!
Any pre-paid Royal Caribbean International shore excursions booked for Lahaina will automatically be refunded to your original form of payment. In the meantime, feel free to browse all the exciting shore excursion options for your sailing in Cruise Planner to level up your vacation.
Thanks for your understanding. We can’t wait to welcome you onboard Ovation of the Seas!
Sincerely,
Aurora Yera-Rodriguez

The likely scenario will be that Royal will change the port we visit. Could be Kona or Hilo on the big island or Kuai.

Yes. I'm curious too as we sail on her on the 30th.

I just read this article regarding the awful wait times for passport applications and renewals.

I was checking the price on the Voom package for our upcoming cruise and it was $15.99. I talked to my wife about the low price and went back to book it and low and behold it jumped up to $22.99 in less than an hour.

We are going to use the Royal transportation if it exists.

We originally were booked on Anthem of the Seas May 1 to South Hampton but saw this cruise was $400 less and had a better itinerary. Now we are getting sticker shock when looking at airfare prices for the return to Los Angeles.
I was quite surprised (after buying the 5 night dining package) that the only specialty restaurant is Chops Grill. Wish there was also a Giovani's.

That's what it cost to operate Wonder. What the passengers spend is probably in the range of two million with fares and onboard spending.

Same cruise. Many questions, first parking costs for the Ft Lauderdale port. Second, Cruise friendly hotels that have cruise terminal shuttles or offer long term cruise parking as we may drive to Fort Lauderdale. Lastly, any comments on excursions while in Colon or Port Limon. thanks.
We're flying in from Los Angeles the day before. We used points to book the Crown Plaza near the port. Don't know if the hotel has a shuttle to the ship. If not we can Lyft or Uber.

I think RCCL website has crashed. I get a message that the site is down due to maintenance.

We are booked at the Hotel Indigo in Barcelona. It's on the IHG hotels website. It's close to the cruise terminal and downtown Barcelona.
