  1. I'm also on this same cruise. I am not getting off in Miami. Been there, done that.
  2. Is Lobster Night only on certain ships or perhaps is it only on longer cruises? I don't see it on my 5 night Adventure but I do see it on Liberty on night 6, but then not on my Anthem Holiday cruise? It better be on the 7N Alaska cruise! too soon to see menu.
  3. Don't wait. The prices usually only go up the closer you get to your cruise. if it does go down below what you originally purchased, then buy again and cancel your first one. Trust me, black friday deals are not really deals.
  4. I'm going to be the odd person out and say sometimes the Key is worth it. Especially if you are not in a suite, not Diamond or above, and if the Voom S&S price is close in price. I think you just have to do the math. I love having the priority boarding and the Welcome Lunch is very nice. And if you're on a full ship with popular shows/entertainment, getting VIP seats is nice as well. As far as your check-in time, I would attempt to get there earlier (like say 12pm) and tell them you have the Key. You may just go right in and bypass everyone else so you could easily make the lunch.
  5. Brian, I think we're going to be on 2 cruises together! Anthem and Liberty. Definitely should do a meet and greet.
  6. @Matt Question about Xmas Dinner night: I have MyTimeDining and I figured I'd check out the menu ahead of time for Anthem's Xmas night; however the App says Venue Closed on that particular night for all the Main Dining Rooms and MTD (which happens to be the last night of the cruise before we return to port on the 26th). All the other nights, there is a menu. Is that because the Xmas menu is special and hasn't been planned out yet therefore, not yet added to the app? When would that menu be visible? or is there some other reason it says Venue Closed?
  7. I would go to Maya Chan next time if I had the chance, as just staying at the port, there was nothing to do other than walk around a salesman-pitch shopping nightmare.
  8. Blue Lagoon is pretty, but I wouldn't go back there again. The beach was OK. the water was very shallow, but pretty. I did the "tour" of the island, and no food was included. It was a nice long hike in the heat. Got to walk up an abandoned tower. Drinks and food was a tad pricey. I did not do the dolphin/stingray or shark excursion either. (not my type of thing to exploit animals)
  9. Storm surge is always the most dangerous thing with Hurricanes.
  10. I find it hard to believe that if someone complains to a crew member, they're going to get poor customer service or be told "too bad". RC has been nothing but overly helpful on every cruise I've been on and quick to resolve issues. And if one crew member is having a bad day, then go to their supervisor or to Guest Services and I bet it won't happen again. Food issues are fixable. The smoking issue however is not and an unfortunate thing non-smokers have to deal with on cruise ships. Hopefully they can upgrade their filtration system in the future to alleviate some of these problems.
  11. Do you think this is a Cruise Planner glitch? I'm still waiting for my May cruise to show some more excursions and even regular dining/bev options. It will suck if they add this last minute and then everyone is fighting for spots or having to deal with the higher prices.
  12. Yay! get excited! I always get that excited feeling in between cruises. I'm a month away from my next and I'm antsy already!! Can't wait to see your live blog when onboard.
  13. Still limited in what we can purchase in the cruise planner, right everyone? only one port is showing excursions.
  14. yes exactly why i was directing that question to the OP.
  15. I just saw this on my seapass card too. Platinum . Choice
  16. this is for Celebrity and Norwegian, not RC.
  17. due to what? my october cruise is still on.
  18. Go to the RC page for Allure and check the Things to Do section ahead of time to see what activities your kids would like vs. as a family or as a couple. Then when you get onboard, Check the cruise compasses for daily activities and highlight what you and your family would be interested in. Sometimes they have scavenger hunts you can do as a family.
  19. ugh great. I'll be on Adventure in a month. I hate the smell of cigarettes and how it leaves a stale stench on everything it touches.
  20. In defense of those who don't always use a TA and go directly through RC...I have never had an issue with customer service and fixing issues. I've either received a refund or got a good resolution to my problem. I've found the online prices can be good with certain discounts and promos and sometimes the agent on the phone doesn't align with what you found. I would fight with the credit card company if they did not honor the promotion but like someone else said, always read the fine print on these things. But if you're canceling everything then I guess good luck to you.
  21. Bermuda has the same entry requirements as Canada.
