  1. Vaccinated passengers are no longer required to wear a mask outside (except in crowded spaces), but unvaccinated passengers still must, including while sunbathing on lounge chairs spaced 6 feet apart and in between bites and sips during outdoor meal service. (Common sense) All passengers (vaccinated or not) must still wear a mask in between bites and sips while dining indoors. (Dumbest statement I have ever heard) The ban on independent shoreside exploration for all passengers (vaccinated and not) has been moved from a requirement to a recommendation Buffets are still prohibited, even on fully vaccinated sailings. The new update continues to treat vaccinated sailings the exact same as sailings that include a mix of vaccinated and unvaccinated passengers. It treats vaccinated and unvaccinated passengers differently in some scenarios, but continues to impose the same requirements for cruise ships that require 100% vaccination as compared to those that will allow a mix. Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings CEO Frank Del Rio called the CDC's guidelines "unfair" and "never consistent." He specifically called out the rule requiring vaccinated patrons to put their masks back on between bites in a restaurant., "Even though everyone onboard would be vaccinated, in between bites of your meal and in between sips of your beverage, you have to put on your mask, take off your mask." "Nobody should order soup because your mask might get sloppy. That to me is just preposterous."
  2. Right now there are 210 people on-line watching an empty cruise ship come into port. lol
  3. I sit at my computer watching on PTZtv, cruise ships entering and leaving different ports.
  4. I just read the Complaint for Declaratory and Preliminary and Permanent Injunctive Relief that the State of Florida submitted. And I have to say that, even though I am not a lawyer, what I read does present a very good case in favor of Florida.
  5. If the CDC were actually concerned with the science and the numbers of cases, deaths, and vaccinations, then they should really look at these facts: 1. The 7 day average of new cases in the United States has decreased from 68,917 a month ago to 38,135 as of yesterday, a 44% decrease 2. The 7 day average of deaths in the United States has decreases from 985 a month ago to 619 as of yesterday. a 37% decrease 3. The percentage of people in the US receiving at least one dose of vaccine on April 11 was 36.3% and fully vaccinated was 22.1%. As of yesterday those numbers were up to 46.7% at least one dose and 35.5% fully vaccinated.
  6. From the CDC's memorandum: 3 The last extension of the NSO, through Oct. 31, 2020, found that, despite the continuing voluntary suspension of operations, and the cooperation of the industry, “[c]ruise ships continue to be an unsafe environment” and were the location of multiple outbreaks and deaths during the period of voluntary suspension. Can someone tell me when these multiple outbreaks and deaths occurred? As far as I remember, out of all the sailings that have happened over the past year, May to May, there have only been a handful of cases and those were contained thus showing that the cruise lines know what they are doing in regards to any cases on a ship. The CDC seems to believe that they can force the cruise lines to achieve a 0% case rate on their ships, and if they don't they would love to shut them down again once restarted.
  7. Have to add some more. Getting away from the stress of life, eating escargot, and the most important, spending some great time with my wife!
  8. 1. You have to wear a mask outside on a cruise line private island. (seriously?!?! How does that make sense in ANY world?) 2. Wear masks by the pool. ( I have been to many resorts during the pandemic and the only requirement is to wear them when walking to and from the pool. They can come off when you are sitting or in the pool. Also, that is going to give me the strangest tan. ) 3. Wristbands are recommended to alert you when you are too close to someone else. ( I guess due to the pandemic we have lost our sense of knowing if someone is standing right next to us.) 4. You cannot remove your mask for an entire meal. ( Yet you are allowed to remove your mask for the entire meal at restaurants on land.) It is my humble opinion that CDC now stands for Crazy Daffy Cookoo
  9. No electronic devices. My wife and I love to disconnect for an entire week.
  10. I went on a cruise one time and they did not have escargot! They told me there was a worldwide shortage of the little guys.
  11. I agree. My wife has to eat gluten free. Sometimes it is very hard to find gluten free food, or have someone know what you are talking about.
  12. What do you call a pig that does karate? A pork chop Why did the golfer bring two pairs of pants? In case he got a hole in one. Thank you, thank you. I 'll be here through the weekend. lol
  13. Waiting patiently for next week. The hearing is slated for this coming Wednesday. So, we should know something soon after that. The fact that a federal judge ruled the CDC overstepped it's authority in that case, does give a small bit of hope for cruising.
  14. I'm upset with they way the CDC is handling this, not just in terms of us being able to cruise again, but I think of all the jobs that would be permanently lost in all of the US ports if the Cruise lines decide to move their ship off shore away from the US and CDC jurisdiction.
  15. CDC is the source of everyone's angst at the moment. The CDC has gotten too big for its britches. It seems to think that they are something more than they actually are. CDC stands for Center for Disease Control, NOT Center for Cruise Control. They know that there is nothing they can do about airports, resorts, theme parks, etc, so they are hanging on as hard as they can to controlling the cruise industry and if they are not careful they will drive the cruise industry away from the United States.
  16. Both Disney and Universal Studios just announced that they will no longer require temperature checks. I'm sure that the mask mandate may fall by the wayside soon as well. I still don't believe that what DeSantis is doing is going to affect the cruise lines. He has no control over them. I'm still saying that cruising from Florida will start up in mid July.
  17. Royal Caribbean says kids may be able to cruise under CDC's 95% vaccinated restart plan Royal Caribbean's Senior Vice President, Sales, Trade Support and Service, Vicki Freed, told travel agents in a webinar that the CDC's plan was purposefully left short of requiring 100% vaccinated passengers so that kids could sail. "The reason for that is because children do not have to be vaccinated if they are under 18," Ms. Freed explained after getting asked why not require everyone to be vaccinated. "And so at this point, that is where the difference between the ninety five and one hundred percent."
  18. The best place we have found and use all the time is at The Radisson. It is just a few minutes south of the port on A1A. https://www.parkportcanaveral.com/
  19. Here's to all the travel advisors, especially ours who has been a true blessing and help this past year.
  20. We will be making our final payment for our Allure cruise in August later this month. I am getting more and more positive that the cruise will happen.
