Stelkp got a reaction from Neesa in Bahama Mask requirements
I definitely think masks would be required while walking to your table etc..but I’m just hoping that there is some normalcy while eating and outside. After all, everyone that boarded us either vaccinated or texted negative. Let’s see...

I totally get it and I would do whatever they say too! I was just wondering. My family is a little annoying about it but I’m trying to be the cheerleader!

Had to laugh at the absurd CDC expectations that Matt posted regarding  wearing a mask on the private island and maintain 6' spacing in the pools.   If any of these summer US test cruises move forward, rest assured, there will be some sort of gov't observers that will take pictures an write reports that can be used to punish the line.   They might even post people on the Caribbean sailings with non-US stops to "take notes". You'll be able to recognize them wearing 3 masks, big hat, dark glasses, and latex gloves carrying a pen /notebook frantically writing in between snapping pictures.

Still waiting on the 30 days before sailing notification. Honestly we are going with expectations of mask wearing pretty much everywhere. We want to sail, we are going to do whatever is required of us and if too much, spend much time on our balcony. I want to sail that much, expecting the worst but hoping and praying for better.
We discuss frequently how we are going to roll with it and then reevaluate future sailings on this experience.  Sadly with all the "cruise hate" going around I want these sailings to be crazy successful. I want to be part of that. @Matt will let us know as soon as he does, I picture him sneaking around RCI HQ's with a listening device.....

My thought right now is a cruise that is pretty much guaranteed to sail stands out from other cruises that are still in limbo.

Royal has stated the last antigen test on board will be timed so this can be used for the purpose of flying home.

For anyone traveling to the Bahamas when Royal sets sail on Adventure in June, if the CDC has not updated their entry requirements for international travelers you will still need to present a negative COVID test at the airport before boarding your flight back to the US.
Some countries have already begun updating their entry requirements, requiring either a negative COVID test and/or requiring passengers to present their original vaccination record that verifies they have been fully vaccinated, with a vaccine approved by that specific country (most western countries have approved Pfizer, Moderna, J&J and AZ).  If the CDC has not updated the entry requirements for entry into the US although Royal will only allow fully vaccinated customers to cruise if you plan on returning home to America you will need to present a negative COVID test prior to boarding your flight back to the U.S..
We are already seeing problems with spring breakers who've traveled to Mexico and the Caribbean and they are fully vaccinated but are not allowed to board their flight home because they didn't think they still needed to present a negative COVID test after being fully vaccinated. So please keep that in mind if you travel internationally until the CDC catches up with the times and amends its order all international arriving passengers will need to present a negative test.

Once you land in Nassau, you have access to the entire country of The Bahamas and need to be treated as such. It's definitely different than arriving on a cruise for a day trip. It will likely be, and should likely be, full Bahamian immigration and customs upon coming off of that plane. It's also very, very difficult to take a plane full of people (sometimes hundreds) and process them differently based on if they are staying for a "regular" vacation versus leaving on a cruise ship.
Think of it this way - would, or should, Italy treat you differently because you are flying in to take a cruise? No...you're entering Italy, on a plane with other types of tourists, Italians, business people, etc. You all need to be processed in to Italy the same because you all will have full access to Italy after you leave the airport. This goes for both immigration and customs.

I’m considering cruising out of Bahamas if July and August are cancelled in America. I’m booked for July but will try to push for august if July is cancelled. But I don’t want to be one of the first cruise boats,I do see chaos as a strong possibility until kinks are ironed out. But yes frustrating. And flying to the port equals 5 round trip airline tickets! Ugh!

Let’s all stick to the topic of this thread, which I am assuming is the interest level of sailing out of the Bahamas this summer.

Let’s not turn this into a thread where we are criticizing or judging other countries for their vaccine rollout or question why their government did what they did.

The way I see it, the bottom line is that we are all frustrated on some level regardless of what country we are from. We all want to get back to cruising. But no amount of criticism, or playing the would have, should have, could have game is going to change any of the decisions that our governments have already made, nor will it speed up the rollout of vaccines in different parts of the world. Nor will it get us back to cruising sooner so the discussion is quite pointless.

Stick to the thread topic, are you interested in sailing out of the Bahamas or not? All other discussions belong on some other forum. Not here.

I will add to my list that I also have Plan B for the summer, because I am not optimistic on a restart date, and even if there was one for the summer, it may very well exclude Canadians, just like how Quantum and Odyssey are for their residents only.  So I am going somewhere lol.  I cannot handle being stuck at home for another summer.

A thought guess - we still haven't seen test cruises yet (or the specs from the CDC delivered to the lines).  If we see that before May, and crew movements occur - perhaps a chance.  Depends upon what ship and which embarkation port.   The fleet is not all going to start sailing at the same time so folks will need to select ships that are the highest priority for the lines to bring back to operations.  How do we guess and pick the right ones for early start?   We know 2 Q class are going to be sailing over the summer - what's next in the queue, from a ship and embarkation port/region?

I feel better knowing this info about Isreal. Now I guess the next hurdle is waiting to see the actual cruise is cancelled.

Since the rumor is that we might need a vaccine to board the ship, that would conclude that people under 16 years old will not be allowed to board since there is no approved vaccine for kids this age. I am wondering what everybody thinks about this and if they would allow children unvaccinated too bored. I have a July cruise planned with my 11 year old ?

If Israel is allowing those under 16 to cruise without a vaccine, then there's no chance the USA will ban those under 16.
