Even better!

I was particularly surprised by the dividend. I thought they were going to be paying off debt for the next 3-4 years. 40 cents on my 100 shares is 40 bucks! Not bad!

Did any one else get the Royal Games email today?
Cakemeister replied to Robert M's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Don't be fooled by the tutus. Those men and women work really hard. The men have to lift a ballerina and make it look effortless and the women have to stand on tippy-toes the whole time. -
Maybe something from one of Matt's lists. Must-Pack Items for a Cruise | Royal Caribbean Blog He also likes packing cubes and there is a sponsor link somewhere for them.

8 new ships, maybe, if you count Star, Icon 3, Oasis 7, and five Discovery-class ships. But at one ship per year, the shipyard will be busy well into the 2030s.

Yes, I am also showing $17.995 pdpd for 1 person/2 devices. I'm booking it.

Calista posted this earlier today: Royal Caribbean will do another World Cruise, despite being "extremely complicated" and "massively expensive” | Royal Caribbean Blog My hopes have been renewed for someday going on this cruise. If I was retired, or if I could somehow talk my boss into letting me work remote for nine months, I would be all over this. The cruise might be on a Discovery-class ship, which means might be five years from now. I can wait.

How much do you spend OOP to reach Prime?
Cakemeister replied to TessFromFlorida's topic in Casino Royale
You need to run $12,500 through the slot machine to earn 2,500 points (1 point per 5 dollars). The return rate of slots on RCCL is secret but is believed to be about 85%. Therefore, on the average, you'll get 85% of $12,500 back and lose 15%, or $1,875. Of course, this could be much more or less, depending on your short-term win rate. EDIT: In your case, you have lost $360 and received 400 points. On average, a $360 loss should get you 480 points, so you are slightly behind. -
Any updates on Mariner of the Seas
Cakemeister replied to Paul Bernath's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I think the storm is tracking well to the southwest of Galveston. Seas might be rough so bring your motion sickness meds if you are prone to seasickness. Enjoy your cruise whatever the weather brings! -
It varies. In January we did a back-to-back on Voyager out of Galveston. We went to the Star Lounge and customs came on board. We never left the ship. I think it depends on how many people are doing the back-to-back cruise, how many customs personnel are available on that day, how busy they are, and probably other factors. On a Sunday with several ships coming in, you might need to leave the ship, but our switchover was on Thursday and Voyager might have been the only ship in port.

Interesting. All I really care about are the 7-night interior cabin cruises out of Galveston, but I guess I could look at the other lengths.

The second free cruise would be a 2000 point instant reward.

Hello, On my next Royal Caribbean cruise, I intend to play video poker to achieve Prime status. This would get me two free cruises for two people. Suppose Mrs. Cake also achieved Prime status in her own right. Would we get two more free cruises? Also, suppose that she had a little "assistance" from me. Does the casino care who is playing the machines on each SeaPass card?

I wonder if Oasis had issues like this when it first sailed. I hope these are one-time issues and not a design flaw in the electrical system.

I wrote this a while back on the topic, and it's still relevant. Take the cost of the key and subtract the cost of a single two-device Internet package, or two one-device packages if you are Waaaytooo. Then figure out what you think each benefit is worth and add them up. This will be different for everyone. Here's a list of the benefits, minus the Internet package: Priority access during The Key designated arrival time (to be communicated via email). Other benefits may apply at specific ports.* Carry-on bag drop off with delivery to your stateroom. ** Exclusive welcome lunch in the Main Dining Room featuring The Key signature menu.*** Access to the fast lane at onboard activities (activities vary by ship)and private time at the Flowrider. Priority departure at tender ports of call from ship-to-shore. Dedicated seating at shows in the Main Theater, Aqua Theater, Studio B, and Two70.**** On debarkation day, enjoy an exclusive á la carte breakfast and choice departure What is each of these worth to you? Matt has posted on multiple occasions that the sum total of the benefits are not worth the cost, especially since the Key costs $35.99 when it is on sale. For able-bodied suite guests, I would say that the choice is clear to not get The Key. For someone who doesn't need an Internet package or who needs two or more devices per person, don't get the Key. If you are on a short cruise and are disabled and need one Internet package per person, get it if the price is right.

Ike was a direct hit on the island, but I don't remember how much damage it caused.

For past cruises, you can sign into your Royal Caribbean account and click your picture or initials. You should get a drop down menu: You can look at your upcoming cruises the same way. Then you'll need to transcribe the information into your forum signature as Mike said.

This news made me start planning on how I can get from 150 points to 700 points, where I previously had no interest. I'm guessing this was Royal's intention.

I recommend going east to west, because of the time changes. I loved the transatlantic I took from Rome to Galveston back in 2011.

Galveston expects an Icon
Cakemeister replied to ultimate_ed's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
From a traveler's perspective, it seems natural to put an Icon-class ship in Galveston with all the competition: MSC Seascape - new ship Carnival Jubilee - new ship Norwegian Viva - new ship plus attractive itinerary And there's always Princess and Disney. Maybe that "wonder" remark was not all hot air. But, like Twangster said, it's all about how RCL can maximize their revenue. -
I think you should go to Celebrity or Princess for fewer people and better service.

Short cruises from Galveston in 2026
Cakemeister replied to BB1's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
It looks to me like all ships are accounted for in February and March of '26 except four: Mariner, Ovation, Radiance, and Serenade. Mariner has a few posted in January, and the other three ships have nothing posted after September or so of '25. Although I'd love to see a Quantum-class ship in Galveston, I would guess that Radiance and/or Mariner will go back to Galveston and do the short cruises. Maybe Serenade will do another world cruise. Maybe they are holding back some cruises based on recent events in Haiti and Israel. -

18, 15 on Royal. 14 out of the 15 out of Galveston.
