  1. Just want to say "Kudos" to the Air2Sea team...from my original booking of 30 airfares to the full refunds to all 30 of us once we cancelled with Cruise with Confidence...to booking new airfares for our "new" cruise now totaling 32 passengers ?!! All with no hassles and courteous staff. Last night I saw much cheaper air prices so called and although it took 2 1/2 hrs speaking to Mildred at Air2Sea every one of us saved over $150!! My family (13 of us) alone saved $2,000.!!!! As I have said before...my rebook has been so much cheaper all the way around and I am just praying that April 19, 2021 my family and friends of 32 awesome people will be sailing away to our cruise vacation!! And hopefully planning for our next cruise adventure too!!
  2. After all your troubles...I sooo hope you get to sail on your November cruise!! Best of luck...
  3. Sadly the sale price is already sold out! I was doing my sister-in-law's and cancelled but when I tried to repurchase on sale got a SOLD OUT!!! so now am on phone with cruise planner since the new price being offered is more than what she paid. Just had girl come back on phone and nothing they can do. So my poor sister-in-law lost her original sale price and couldn't get the new one!! Ughhhhh ****Not sure what happened but I logged back in for her and the price was still $44 so I purchased and she is all set! Now the price is $71!!!
  4. Just checked my cruise planner for my April 2021 cruise. The drink Deluxe Drink Package is on sale at 50% off. We booked last month for $53/day thinking that was a bargain...now it is $44/day! Not sure if this is a pre-cursor to disaster down the road (meaning cancelled cruise) but for now I feel really good with this price! ?????
  5. I think it is what Dimension and JasonL posted earlier...more time to deep clean so later time to board.
  6. Yup watched it last night for about the 8th time! Never been on Harmony and do hope to get the chance someday. I heard The Pena Vega's were crowned the 'Godparents' of the Symphony of the Seas! Actually I watched a video about it and apparently they cruise quite often! Just checked my "days til cruise" and it is at 238! Hey, COVID....PLEASE GET LOST!!!! We all want to get onboard our ships and CRUISE AWAY!!!
  7. Oh...now I understand!! Yes, that does make it worse!! So sorry you had to go through that. And yes, I agree....PLEASE LET US CRUISE SOON!!!!!
  8. Hello...I 'blogged' about this in a different post yesterday...so my opinion is this: Using Cruise with Confidence (I also did this in March) allowed me to cancel completely and receive FCC for the cruise fare and cash refunds for taxes, gratuities, cruise planner items, airfares (I booked them through Air2Sea). The biggest plus (to me) was the non-refundable deposits were refunded! My cruise was about 36 days out so they actually refunded 25% of the cruise fare in cash and 75% as FCC...which I have used for my re-booked cruise, so I might have another decision to make once 2021 arrives!! We all agreed to the terms of the Cruise with Confidence on whatever day we cancelled. That was our choice and I do not know about you but when I called to cancel with CWC, the person I spoke to reiterated to me what I was agreeing to. Anything that was offered after that we are not entitled to because we chose what we did at the time we cancelled. Yes, had we known the cruise was going to be cancelled by Royal with better offerings, perhaps we would have all waited...I certainly would have!!! I look at this as my misfortune...in hindsight, yes it would have been better to wait! But I am still grateful I got what I got (even though I did lose the travel insurance I had paid with the cruise). BUT: Does anyone else feel like I do or am I stupid for being so passive about this? ?
  9. Thank you very much for your explanation. I will take your advice and look into the cost and circumstances...then decide what is best. Appreciate your taking the time to answer my question.
  10. Question...so is it better to get travel insurance on my own rather than through Royal? I lost my insurance premiums from my April 2020 cruise which I had purchased when I booked the cruise directly with Royal ($59/adult...$29/kid). So should I not get it with my cruise and if so how do I purchase it otherwise?
  11. Sorry...misread, I guess. I still was able to see the current price in the offers so whatever the "glitch" is it comes and goes.
  12. Go to order history and you will find everything you have already purchased...click on one and it shows the price you paid. I was in my daughter's planner and saw that same thing and it actually looked like she had booked the deluxe drink package which I know she did not! So I checked her order history and saw she has 4 refreshment packages... ?
  13. Question...can anyone book the President's cruise or is it offered only to long-time cruisers who already receive perks, etc? How does a somewhat new cruiser find out when the President's cruise is happening?
  14. My thoughts on this: the day you made your decision to cancel (whether it was with Cruise with Confidence or not) whatever Royal was offering on that particular day for cancellations is what you agreed to and should receive. Even if the very next day Royal cancels and offers better deals...you are not entitled to their new offerings because you agreed to what you accepted on the day you cancelled. Yes it would be nice if you could reap the benefits of the new deal but you pretty much entered into a contract with them and agreed to their terms on the day you made your decision to cancel. Some win....some lose (oh and I do place myself in the loser category) however, I will continue to sail with Royal regardless and hope to be on my April 19, 2021 cruise with my group of 32 family and friends!!!!
  15. Not really more details...they gave me a listing of all the payments I had made (I didn't wait until the January deadline to pay the full balance, I was paying $1000 here and $2000 there) and how they were applied to each of my family members (I was the person who had booked and was paying for all 13). It was still my problem to figure it out but with the breakdowns of the payments (they have a crazy way of applying amounts to each person!) somehow it made it easier for me to do the matching. I was pretty confident I was able to find and match each amount but until I actually received the FCC certificates I still had doubts. At any rate, when I add up all my AMEX credits and the FCC amounts the total equals what I had originally paid. The only money I lost ? was the travel insurance. A few months later, I believe they agreed to refund the travel insurance but when I tried to get mine back I was told that I had agreed to the terms of CWC at the time I cancelled and those were the terms I had to accept. Live and learn!!
  16. Appreciate that info. That is why the floating CoCo Beach cabanas are so expensive...at least on my cruise planner!!
  17. I believe the South Beach cabanas have a separate place to eat and the food is an upgraded menu from the food options everyone else can enjoy while on CocoCay. I remember seeing steak and perhaps lobster offered. This only applies to South Beach cabanas...but please correct me if I am wrong!
  18. When I received my refunds (totally a little over $10,000) they came back to my AMEX as 45 different credits (a few were as little as $6.00!!). I had to sit down and match up piece by piece to figure out if I received all I was supposed to receive! It was quite daunting and tedious and I finally called to get a breakdown of how they applied all my payments. Once I got that info, it was easier to figure out. Seems nothing comes easy...or quickly! I have to say reading about everyone else's issues helped me understand I was not the only one and that did ease my stress level a bit. Thanks for this wonderful blog and message board!!
  19. I converted mine. One of my conversions gave me 16,612 pts for $213. I just checked current flight offerings and found a $214. fare will cost me 15,522 pts so guess it is a bargain to convert!! And best thing is the points NEVER expire...and can be used to book a flight for someone else!
  20. I have an April 2021 cruise booked (rebooked from April 2020 and used some FCC). Looks like the same cruise itinerary and ship will sail from FLL in 2022 instead of Miami. Do you think it is wise to forget 2021 and if so would I be able to L&S? My only problem is I have my kids and grandkids coming along and am not sure what week in April 2022 would be their school vacation. Also if we had sailed in 2020 all 5 grandkids were 12 and under...rebooking to 2021 only 4 are considered kids and if I move to 2022 only 3 will be "kids"!! Ughhhh this is getting complicated!
  21. My 'story' is pretty much the same...used CWC to cancel April 13, 2020...then Royal cancelled it. I didn't even bother trying to get a refund since I knew what I agreed to when I cancelled was set in stone. I did try to get my travel insurance $ back but got nowhere with that! ? Rebooked to April 19, 2021...just recently used the FCC to pay (only had to payout a little new money since I upgraded from 4 Spacious Balconies to 4 JS) . So, I believe if this one gets cancelled I will still only receive FCC for what I paid in FCC and any NEW monies paid toward the cruise fare would probably get refunded. After reading so much material on all this my understanding is the original form of reimbursement stays with me until I use it or lose it. Any newly paid money begins a new round of refund offers should this sailing be cancelled by them.
  22. So sorry you caught the brunt of Isaias' wrath! I do hope you get back to normal soon...just wanted to extend my well wishes.
  23. Well I certainly hope so!! My sailing is April 19, 2021 so fingers crossed!!! ?
