  1. I am also booked on the Nov 3 Oasis! Celebrating 42 years married (11-3-79) ? So hoping this one is a go!!!
  2. You can call the main number anytime and speak to a customer service member. Anyone you get will be very helpful noting important events you'd like while cruising. I did the same this week (but for anniversary vs. honeymoon)...booked online and then called to have special information marked down. Number to call is: 1-866-562-7625 Oops just noticed you are in Australia so I hope this number is for all countries???
  3. Yes it is...but I am not fooling with this one.
  4. SO!!! I just called and guess what? Archery is available on every ship!!! The service rep told me that once you check in and can view all onboard activities this is offered. She said it has been around for some time but just recently Royal began advertising it more! It also shows up on the Cruise Compass. She told me depending on the length of the cruise it may be offered only one day or more. Guests just need to sign up ahead of time. So we can all look into this once sailing starts...I for sure will be!!!!
  5. I might just have to call Royal today to find out which ships have this and try to get details!!
  6. Hello...does anyone know which ship(s) have Archery as an activity? I was looking through Cruise Ship Activities and it is listed but there is not much info! Is it part of the Adventure Ocean for kids?? Curious because it would be an awesome activity to try! https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-activities/archery Thanks for any info offered!
  7. 3 currently booked. April 2022 on Navigator (moved from 2020 to 2021 to 2022!!!) and am pretty sure that one will sail! September 2022 on Allure is the second one I booked. Just this week booked November 2021 on Oasis and am really hoping it will be a go (the sail date coincides with our 42nd wedding anniversary!). Oh and planning to book Navigator sailing from LA as soon as the schedule opens up!!!
  8. Patiently waiting for the Navigator sailings from LA to appear. I keep checking but haven't seen any as of this morning. Hoping to find something for early November 2022! Royal states the new sailings will be available during this week. Anyone able to find this information yet?
  9. Hello and welcome to the message board! The most probable reason there are no excursions available yet is the amount of time until your cruise. I have one in April 2022 and my cruise planner still has only a few offerings. As the date gets closer (around a year away or a little less) that will be when your options will populate. As your sailing gets even closer, sales happen sporadically with lower pricing so once you book something and find a cheaper price you can cancel the higher price and purchase the lower price. Enjoy!!!
  10. I can reassure you!! Of course at those ages it won't be a relaxing vacation but it will pack so many memories into their little brains that can never be erased...no matter how old they get. And by the time cruising is back they will already be a little older!! Our 5 grandkids continually talk about the adventures we have taken them on...it's truly heartwarming. I also worked up until a year and a half ago so had all the stresses you mention. BUT...being on a vacation is different than having them at the house and being on a cruise just seems to work! I promise you that you will never regret spending whatever time you can with them...as exhausting as it might get...because memories are worth it!!
  11. Once you add your wife's reservation info while you are logged into the cruise planner log out. When you log back in you should see your reservation number (with names in your room) and under that should be your wife's reservation number (with names in her room). You can click on your reservation or your wife's but they will not be "linked" as one reservation. Purchasing things in the cruise planner while logged into yours does allow you to add other people from other reservation numbers. By adding your wife's reservation number to your cruise planner at least allows you to look at hers or look at yours but not at the same time.
  12. So since it sounds as though you used Cruise with Confidence to cancel that original cruise then you will most likely not have the opportunity to take a cash refund for it now. The FCC stands until you use it or it expires. Same thing happened to me...used CwC to cancel my original April 2020 cruise...got 25% of monies back and 75% issued as FCC. of course one month later the cruise was cancelled so missed out on full refund!! Almost immediately booked April 2021 (cheaper all around and even got JS's for most of my group!!) and then used L&S to bring it to April 2022. Just praying by that time life will be back to a somewhat normal state...truly do not feel as though I will be comfortable being on a cruise wearing a mask...etc...as I noted earlier in another blog topic.
  13. I for one see no fun in being on a cruise and having to wear a mask ?...even if it were for just 50% of the time!! So my answer to your question is no cruising for me until masks are no longer necessary accessories. For right now...limitations and restrictions would absolutely kill the fun of a leisurely cruise and I will refuse to take part! Perhaps my April 2022 cruise will turn into yet another "No Go" ?! Only time will tell...
  14. If I am not mistaken, I believe FCC's were extended to cruises departing on or before September 30, 2022...as long as they are booked by April 30, 2022 so you should be good.
  15. Since I did the L&S in December for my April 2021 to April 2022 I have had to call Royal 7 times!! Little things that did not move over smoothly had to be corrected and believe me it is NOT an easy task when you have 30 people in 12 rooms!! I have worked with the groups department myself over and over and I have mostly all good things to say with this being the exception. My BIGGEST issue is with the travel protection pricing!!! Apparently Royal wants no part with this even though my last 4 calls were handled and promised that my pricing would reflect what we were paying for the 2021 cruise. Today I have spent the better part of this afternoon on the phone with Royal and at one point was switched over to the travel insurance company AON. They don't want to help either and told me I need to write down all my concerns and mail them a letter!! So I have decided to cancel all the travel protection at this time (am back on the phone now with Royal groups to do this). After having lost all our insurance from our original 2020 cruise I didn't think it could get any worse. Now they (AON) want us to pay the insurance according to what our 2022 rooms would cost if we were just booking them which is a heck of a lot more than our 2021 prices!! Apparently price protection doesn't matter to them! My question....do you all purchase the travel insurance through Royal or do you buy your own?? I have used AMEX to pay for everything and was wondering if I should just ask them what my protections would be. Any advice will be appreciated.
  16. Hello...today is the first time I saw your blog (probably because you posted an update...thanks!!). Nice way to celebrate 10 years married! So, I read through the entire blog and love all the pictures and insights to your entire cruise and especially the floating cabana on CocoCay. Looks like your entire cruise was a blast. My question...did you and your group follow through with the scavenger hunt and if so...who won?? Happy belated 11th!!
  17. Thank you for keeping track!!!! Booked: Navigator April 18, 2022 (The original booking to celebrate my retirement and treat my family was April 2020...moved to April 2021 and recently L&S to the 2022 one) Not Booked BUT Contemplating: Allure Sept 2022 [Western Mediterranean from Rome] and just looked at tonight Brilliance Nov 2021 [Key West & Coco Cay]
  18. Thanks for all the info and tips. Your 2005 cruise sounds like it was perfect!! Actually the cruise I am looking at begins and ends in Rome so I thought flying in a couple days ahead to really explore Rome would be good and then once off the ship on last day take the train from Rome to Venice and spend a few days there...then fly home from there. I was also considering the Italy/Adriatic cruise from Venice to Rome on Brilliance and then taking train from Rome to Florence before heading home. But I want Venice and not Ravenna so the Western Med cruise makes more sense, I think.
  19. I am looking at the 7 night Western Mediterranean Cruise on Allure leaving from Rome...stopping in Naples...Barcelona...Palma de Mallorca...Provence...Florence...back to Rome. Here is my question to all of you well travelled message boarders: Do you feel there is enough time at each port to really see what that area has to offer? For instance, when in Florence is there enough time to visit the Duomo, Statue of David, and other attractions (maybe even stop in Pisa)? Are the ports really far from the actual 'cities' (I believe the Florence port is about 90 minutes from the town)? I scanned excursion offerings on the cruise planner website but I think firsthand experience, commentary and knowledge will help me with my questions. I don't want to go away from this type of vacation having not been able to feel that I actually experienced what I should see in each area. Perhaps a land tour vacation is more apt to benefit the in-depth exploring and sight-seeing of Italy and this kind of cruise may be a more relaxing version? Your insights will serve as valuable information...I am sure! I would love to hear from those who have taken this cruise or maybe the cruise offered on the Brilliance? I am currently considering October 2022 for this trip. Thank you very much!!
  20. Welcome to the message boards! I am sure someone will have an answer for you regarding your question since there are many seasoned cruisers who pretty much can help anyone with anything! I am sorry that I do not have an answer...just wanted to welcome you! ?
  21. As far as I know the L&S is only available through April 2022...but that may have to change now that cruising is cancelled through April 2021!
  22. Glad you guessed right too!! Yeah, we have a mix of JS (7) and Spacious Balconies (5) on Navigator and keeping everyone on the same deck in very close proximity was already almost impossible back in December. And with that many people, I didn't have the luxury of picking and choosing which date to shift to...there was only ONE that we could all do!!! LOL Once this family cruise happens I hope to continue cruising with just me and my husband so I look forward to booking the larger ships...longer cruises...and bigger suites!
  23. So my family is very happy we decided back in early December to Lift & Shift our April cruise to 2022. Since there are 30 of us in 12 rooms, I feel lucky that I was able to keep our rooms almost identical to what we had originally booked for 2020 which then became 2021 (using FCC) and now 2022!! I just tried a fake booking for our cruise and had we waited 'til this cancellation to do the L&S...looks like we would have been more spread out. So doing the L&S ahead of time worked out for us! Since our original booking, I have been the "in-charge" person, opting not to go with a TA. I booked through the groups department and so far have enjoyed doing all the leg work for my group...even when I have needed to call several times to get something done! Guess you could say I am my own TA! ? I hope everyone who opts for a L&S now will be as satisfied with their results! Good luck to all...hope early 2022 will be smooth sailing for all of us who are now waiting until then to hop onboard!!
