  1. So were you at the end of your cruise when you tested positive or did this happen during your scheduled cruise time? Curious because I am wondering what happened to your husband and children...did they fly home...continue on the cruise? You noted that you are by yourself and that is why I asked. I am sorry this has happened to you, especially while in a foreign country! I do hope your next test proves to be negative, that will be great! I also hope you are able to get meals, drinks, etc...is someone at the hotel helping you with that? Hoping you have no serious symptoms and a quick turn-a-round! I am interested to know how this plays out and ends for you! My best wishes!
  2. Totally enjoying your narrative. I believe I will be visiting the same ports in May when I do this cruise from Rome . Your attention to detail is fantastic. Thanks for taking the time to bring us along with you and your wife.
  3. Booked this last night! I know it’s a long way off… 336 days…but really looking forward to this one. We plan to fly into Rome a few days early to take in the sights and also on the back end of the cruise will take the train to Venice from Rome and spend a few days there before flying home. I did a land vacation in Italy back in 2006 with a long time girlfriend (we did our own touring and it was awesome) and always wanted to return to experience this fabulous country with my husband! Finally going to do just that!
  4. Only one I know of is the Adventure leaving from Cape Liberty today (June 4). I would think the ships leaving from Florida ports may just sit tight and wait til the storm passes today?
  5. As long as you are “tuned in” to hear the overhead announcements you will hear them announce all staterooms are now ready. I can get so busy once on board that it’s easy for my ears to block out certain sounds so I always make sure to remain pretty vigilant in order to hear that message!
  6. Might just cruise at sea more North of Bermuda, depending on where the storm would be heading. I think in the Caribbean there is more leeway with finding alternate ports but sailing from, say, Cape Liberty to Bermuda there is only more North to head. So yes, perhaps Nova Scotia? Perhaps Maine? Perhaps just circle around and around!
  7. Yup…we complete ours either early morning of the day we board or on the ride over to the port. First thing on board is hurrying to the muster station and finalizing the process. There…it’s done…no more interruptions! Super easy.
  8. I believe Royal’s insurance pertains only to the cruise portion of the trip. But I am not 100% sure so let’s see who weighs in with more info. I prefer a travel insurance company which encompasses all aspects of my trip.
  9. Royal is on it and will make sure all cruises are safe and as storm free as possible!
  10. Do you have any concerns about the weather? What is your take on it?
  11. Well at the very least the pool at CocoBeachCLUB is heated now! I do believe I have read about it somewhere on this forum
  12. @10-42 and @smokeybandit Thanks for making me laugh tonight. I really needed this!
  13. After ALL the stresses and emails and still trying to figure out actual monies of FCC refunds….NOW they decide to make expirations non-existent!
  14. If there was ever a time you WANTED to get COVID (?!?!) then , YES now is that time! I tested positive Friday and am still coughing and short of breath. Otherwise feel fine and actually did test negative last night with a home test but feel I really need another week or so to feel back to normal! Unfortunately my entire family that vacationed in Universal Studios and Disney for 7 days all tested positive within a day or two of returning…kids, grandkids, all of us! 2 vaccinations and 2 boosters did not help me stay healthy! I hope you stay COVID free!!!!
  15. If it’s just rain and not horrible downpours you can still try to enjoy the food on CocoCay (especially the snack shack)? I would definitely not get off in Nassau. Too bad we can’t foresee the weather when we book our vacations! But making the best of it is the way to go ️🌧🌦. Hope you find sunshine in between it all!
  16. If you booked it through the Royal website you can call and request a payment receipt. If you booked through a TA then he/she will have to be the one to provide that info to you.
  17. I will always pick the earliest time slot I can find. The sooner onboard the sooner my actual cruise vacation begins! I want the full experience and time allowed and the only way I am going to get that is by getting myself onboard…early!
  18. I'm not on any social media sites. This blog is the closest thing I have to anything of that nature. I have found any info I am looking for (plus a whole lot more) right here in the forums.
  19. I saw kids of all sizes and ages playing in the kids area when I was there in April...I had to stop myself from running in to stand under one of the water drop buckets!!
  20. We sailed in April with 5 rooms in a row. I purchased some materials at Michaels and had my granddaughters help make the decorations! It was fun and they looked great! Was not very costly either! I bought a roll of magnetic tape which was so easy to cut and stick on the fabric…actually not fabric but foam rectangles which were also easy to cut into shapes.
  21. My brother and SIL just came back from their 9 night Adventure sailing and while onboard they booked this 10 night…booking a GS for themselves! I’ll have to have him join this forum…or I will keep informed for him .
