The first 2-3 weeks after Thanksgiving should be fine for less kids on board. Probably one of the best times of the year for that. Plus the ships are decorated for the Holidays.

Brand new ships vs. Amplify older ones
USFFrank replied to D Alt's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Yes. There are quite a few ports in the world that Royal sails to that can only done on their smaller ships. I'm not a bean counter, but IMHO they would be making a mistake by not building some new smaller ships to take the place of the older ones once they are retired by Royal. -
Someone's gotta bring it up. The lowest price (that I've ever seen) for a cruise planner item was of course the infamous $18.00 a day deluxe drink package offer back in what I believe was July of 2019 for cruises sailing in 2020. Please correct me if I'm wrong with those dates. To make a long story short Royal acknowledged their mistake and let anyone who had bought that package keep it. I was supposed to use it for a December sailing in 2020, but we all know what happened in March of that year.

I've only seen it on embarkation day on my sea pass (it's been a year since my last Royal Caribbean cruise, so I can't remember if it was on the app any sooner). One of the first things I do once on board is look for my table location. If I do not like it's location, I immediately ask if it could be changed.

Matt has published a new article that is saying an offer for AMEX is back again. New Amex offer could get you hundreds of dollars in points for booking a Royal Caribbean cruise | Royal Caribbean Blog I checked it out and unfortunately my Delta Sky Miles card that I've had for over 20 years does not qualify again.

Yep, I had a feeling something like this along with the higher prices for everything was going to happen. As much as I would like have more cruises listed on my upcoming sailings list, it's getting harder to justify the costs to do that. Same goes for land based vacations.

Liberty did not get Freestyle in Wet Dock
USFFrank replied to Robert M's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Haven't been on them as of yet, but I decided to do a search on Royal Caribbean's site and came up with this outdated Wonderless list. What are The Onboard Coca-Cola Freestyle Machines? | Royal Caribbean Cruises Coca-Cola® freestyle machines are currently available on the following ships: Adventure of the Seas® Allure of the Seas® Anthem of the Seas® Enchantment of the Seas® Explorer of the Seas® Freedom of the Seas® Grandeur of the Seas® Harmony of the Seas® Independence of the Seas® Jewel of the Seas® Mariner of the Seas® Navigator of the Seas® Oasis of the Seas® Odyssey of the Seas® Ovation of the Seas® Quantum of the Seas® Rhapsody of the Seas® Symphony of the Seas® -

Majesty of the Seas? No Odyssey or Wonder? -
I do believe Cozumel would be an hour behind but stick with the ships time. bring a regular wristwatch to keep your time aligned with the ships. If you're doing a third-party excursion, they go by local time.

It's a little too late, but Royal does offer lactose free milk. It's available in the special requests section. Guest Special Needs | Royal Caribbean Cruises

Morning or Evening Stateroom Service Preference?
USFFrank replied to ZBrady's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I think we'll be trying the evening service out on our next cruise. Just going to ask for extra towels each day and the cruise compass. -
I don't remember the name of the sale either, but I know what you're talking about. I think it was in April of 2020, they had what I would call a fire sale on certain cruises. I got a guaranteed neighborhood view balcony cabin on a Harmony of the Seas cruise dirt cheap. Wound up with a Central Park view which was exactly what I wanted.

It's been awhile since their last Wow sale.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe there's also a size limitation on which ships can sail into those ports too. I don't look all the time, but whenever I looked up Southern Caribbean itineraries, I never saw anything above Voyager Class ships sailing there. EDIT. After reviewing other posts on this thread after mine, I stand corrected.

Stateroom requests offered via email precruise
USFFrank replied to Pattycruise's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
That's good to know. I remember you used to be able to choose whether you wanted your bed separated or not when you first booked your cruise, as well as whether there was a special occasion, like a birthday or anniversary being celebrated, and on which day. With the past several cruises I've been on I had to either have my travel agent put those requests in or call Royal up to have it done. -
You'll get the port charges and taxes for the no show back.

We've had the promenade view cabins on Freedom and Voyager Class ships on deck 6. On that deck you may be more prone to hearing noise (music) if your cabin is above or nearby a bar or lounge. Just remember the cabins across from you and people on the promenade (although not as much) can see inside your cabin, so you may want to keep at least the scrim curtain closed if you don't want them to see you while you're inside.

Bathing suit, hat, sunglasses, suntan lotion, and cash for tips.

Not at those prices. And with 2 ships in port the prices will never drop to a somewhat reasonable amount. I once had them at $59.00 per person on a cruise that was cancelled in 2020 during the shutdown. And ours was the only ship scheduled to be there that day.

Forgot to pack a tie to wear with my suit on formal night. The ship didn't have any for sale either, so I had to go tieless that night. The big one was accidently leaving my regular camera and camcorder at home. Found out when we got to the port and didn't have enough time to drive back home to get them. My wife talked me into spending a nice chunk of change for a GoPro on the ship.

Eventually, no really. Guarantee cabins can show up anytime between now and your sailing day. Keep checking your account.

Fountain drinks available on Brilliance of the Seas?
USFFrank replied to Wes's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I recall on my cruise on Brilliance of the Seas last year that they had Coke, Diet Coke & Sprite in fountain form in the Windjammer behind a counter along with the free drinks they offered. There was someone there who would serve it to you in a glass. You would have to either have a drink package or pay by the glass. You would have to check with the different bars to see what they have in their tap's soda wise or what cans they may have. But if you have a drink package I have heard and read that it may not include soda cans, so you may have to ask whomever your server may be if cans are included. -
With traffic the way it is leave Saratoga Springs by 9:00AM the latest.

Change to Drink Voucher Applicability?
USFFrank replied to Captain Cruise's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
I could see them not allowing it for anything with alcohol in it, but it should be good for coffee and juices. Could people be abusing it by using all of their daily allowance on disembarkation day for other guests around them?
