  1. This happens on lots of cruises for diamonds and above Remember, starting at diamond your first 4 drinks of choice (I believe up to $15.00?) are free each day. They want to get more money out of the diamonds and above.
  2. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/gbr/en/faq/questions/which-ships-have-freestyle-machines For whatever reason, Liberty of the Seas does not have them. You can get sodas from the bars onboard.
  3. She must be a vampire. She does not age. I've seen the videos of her singing with the Supremes in the 60's, and she looked older back then than she looks now.
  4. It's just someone looking for attention. And we're giving it to this person.
  5. I saw the premium wifi package was on sale at a decent price for my cruise next year, so I got it. The drink package prices are too rich for my blood. Just wishful thinking here, but it would be nice if they had just a soda package like Royal has. And (I know this has been discussed before) as an Elite member courtesy of Royal Caribbean's loyalty status match, I wish Celebrity would just give you daily drink vouchers on your sea pass cards like Royal does instead of just a happy hour.
  6. I enjoyed watching the videos he put out during the shutdown. They were always positive. I do wish he was still CEO. I don't believe we would be paying these astronomically high prices for a cruise nowadays if he were still in charge.
  7. I've been on the Carnival 3 day booze cruises in the past. I won't go on those anymore on any cruise line. Because Royal Caribbean cruise prices have gotten too expensive now, I'm doing a 7 & an 8-day cruise on Carnival and hoping nothing like that will happen on them.
  8. Royal Caribbean is canceling again visits to private destination in Haiti | Royal Caribbean Blog My cruise is supposed to go there this Saturday. No cancellations yet as of this posting. Edit: Yesterday 4/16 was changed to Puerto Plata.
  9. Not on my cruise. Edit: Until today.
  10. I have that Royal Caribbean ship poster where you scratch off the names of all of the ships you have sailed on. While I have in the past, and about to go on the same ship more than once, it's nice take it out of it's frame and scratch off a new ship that I have sailed on after that cruise.
  11. Maybe they should start enforcing the assigned arrival time rule again like they're evidently now enforcing the wine corkage fees again.
  12. As in we're being screwed (monetary wise) for bringing in our own screw top bottles onboard and being charged for it, yes.
  13. Dumb question. If my wife brings a wine bottle with a screw top to the MDR and asks for a wine glass, will she be charged a corkage fee?
  14. I bought a Thomas Kinkade lithograph on a cruise 7 years ago at a decent price. I had it custom framed myself and it's displayed proudly in my living room under a museum quality light (which BTW cost just as much as the lithograph and and frame) . I personally enjoyed the art auctions and plan on attending the ones on my upcoming cruise next month. It's a nice way to spend a few hours and learn about the artists and paintings. I've even won a few prizes at them too (but don't care for the champagne though). I know better to fall for any sweet talk I may get or high pressure sales. If I'm not interested in it, I won't bid on it or buy it afterwards.
  15. Scheduled to go there next month. With all do respect, I wouldn't lose any sleep, or cry over an additional sea day, or a different port stop, as long as it isn't Nassau or Coco Cay, and it doesn't change the other 3 stops on the itinerary.
  16. Which port? I remember once upon a time Alamo had a shuttle to and from the port of Miami. I used them in 2018 for a 24 hour one way rental from Orlando down to Miami, then back after the cruise (got both of them at a great price) But that stopped after the shutdown and I don't think it has returned.
  17. Would I prefer to be loyal to Royal for I'm diamond, yes. Would I want to cruise on Royal at these ridiculous prices now, no. I'm disappointed that most of the Oasis class ships will only be doing 3 & 4 day cruises now. Wanted to try one of those ships again. I've only been on one. I don't want to do those short cruises on any cruise line anymore. Too much money for too little time, and (with all due respect) I'm tired of just visiting Nassau. It's bad enough 2 of my upcoming cruises go there. I'll more than likely just stay on the ship. Don't really care for Coco Cay anymore either. I found a decent deal on Celebrity by booking over 2 years out, and I've gone on (and going on) Carnival due to the lower prices to satisfy my cruise cravings. But again no more short cruises. I was looking at MSC for a Western Caribbean which had a price much lower than Royal, but was disappointed with the hours spent in one of the ports in Mexico due to the ship also visiting Nassau. So now I'm about to book a Southern Caribbean cruise on Carnival that will visit the ABC Islands at a much lower price than Royal or Celebrity. Yes I'm picky and frugal, but at this point in my life, especially with all the past cruises I have taken (and about to) I believe I can be.
  18. Never been to Puerto Plata (at least not yet), but based upon the other cruises I've been on, you should find most, if not all shops and places to eat open till (at least) your ship departs. This would be especially true if yours is not the only ship docked that day. The few hours before the ships depart is when most of the port shops make the most money.
  19. I'm a "walkie talkie" guy. But I use a wired earpiece with it.
  20. Booked my next 2 cruises 785 and 794 days out respectively. I believe there was only 1 price drop for each cruise which I had adjusted via my travel agent. Since then the price has gone up and down, but never close to the prices I've got them at.
  21. On my bucket list is a river cruise to see the Christmas markets of Europe. It will be nice to see what Celebrity will offer.
  22. I found the biscuit gravy to be rather good. I only wish the biscuits were better. I found those rather dense and tough.
  23. Check out www.resortforaday.com to see what's available. Not all ports have day passes available, and if available, not all resorts are all inclusive either. For some, the price you pay just gets you in there, drinks and food are ala carte among other things. Read the fine print for each one.
  24. See if you can get that reservation number, give Royal a call, and make it quick.
