RC just told me they are processing refunds 30 days after you cancel. I canceled March 13 so mine was processed April 14.  From there it will take 2-3 weeks to actually issue and receive the refund.  Never giving RC another penny of my money!

Yet again another lie from RC. My refund was processed, per the email I got from RC, on March 14th. It is now April 20th and no refunds anywhere in sight, nor is my future cruise credit. They are stalling and making up any excuse they can along the way.

Quite frankly, what pisses me off about this situation is people on the later cancellations are receiving their refunds and FCC before people on the original round of cancellations.

I am calling today again to figure out where my money is, I'm starting to wonder if my FCC was processed and never emailed to me as I have read that happened to a few other people also.

Frankly, I think this is where a lot of confusion is being generated - and I'm not convinced that it isn't on purpose...

It seems to me that Royal is starting the "countdown clock" for refunds on the date that THEY officially cancel the specific cruise in the "system" (whatever that really means), which seems to be happening right around the time that the cruise would actually be sailing.  I could be completely wrong here, but it seems like the countdown clock does NOT start on the date that they make the formal announcement about the cruise cancellations, but rather on the date the "system" cancels the cruise.  So for me, that countdown clock will not start clicking until close to May 16, which is the date we would have sailed on our now-cancelled cruise.  I hope I'm wrong about this but that's what it seems like, to me.

I believe you are correct in that. However, whatever refund date they are saying or tell you on the phone, add an additional 30 days. They have made it quite clear they have no intention to give anybody their money back by the dates they say.

Everyone should cancel their excursions, drink packages etc... now in Cruise Planner.  It's seperate from the base cruise and at least you'll get that money back.  You can always re-book those things if by some miracle the Coronavirus disappears overnight.

Expect to wait for that as well.

What good is cancelling if you aren't gonna get the refund from it anyway? They supposedly processed my cruise planner purchases on March 14th and still nothing in my account.

At this rate, this will be my last time ever sailing with Royal Caribbean. The way they have handled this situation is an absolute joke.

I cancelled on March 21 and have received no refund yet for prepaid shore excursions.  I get a different story each time I call. Where on the site does it say refunds will take 30 days. Also waiting for my FCC certificate.

Good luck, you will likely be waiting a while. A lot of us who cancelled or were cancelled on before March 14th still haven’t received anything. Their system is so backlogged it is insane.

    Thank you for the response.

I understand that any FCC over the cost will be reissued in FCC.  I'm trying to find out if I can get my deposit refunded back to my credit card since my FCC is enough to cover it all.  Since, I have enough FCC to cover 2 cruises, I'm trying not to add any additional money at this time.

What others told me is that your deposit will be shifted to port fees and taxes and the leftover deposit amount, if any, will be refunded. FCC does not cover port fees or taxes.

  6. Called today regarding my refund since I had to add a name to my December reservation anyway.

My cruise was for Enchantment on March 16th. I called and cancelled on the phone on March 12th, however it appears they did not cancel my cruise when I called as according to two customer service agents my cruise was not cancelled until March 14th, AKA the day that Royal voluntarily cancelled. The representative I spoke to today confirmed that it was canceled on March 14th, so I should be receiving my Cruise planner refunds today or tomorrow, but to give them until the end of the week to show in my account.

She also said that my refund for the taxes/fees will be in the account by the end of the week, again to call on Monday if the refund isn't there.

As far as FCC, the first round of cancellations should still have the FCC today at some point.

Sit tight everyone. Maybe we will all have our refunds and FCC's by the end of the week. The good news is the current hold time is only about 10 minutes if you need to call them.

The email I received was specific to the cruise planner items, and was in addition to the global cancellation email and the FCC notification. It itemized each purchase as well as the exact amounts and where they were going. e.g. OBC, Visa, etc.

Yes. I received the itemized email for the cruise planner purchases stating my refund had been processed. Still no refund back to my credit card. The email came in March14th.

I'm part of the first round of cancellations and so far not a thing has come back yet.  No excursion money, no taxes and fees, and no FCC.

    Me too.

I am now over 30 days from when their system cancelled my reservation per their representative I spoke to.

I will call on Wednesday and see where my refund and FCC is.

  9. What is interesting in my case is I called and cancelled 3/11, however did not receive notice until 3/14/2020 for the cruise planner cancellation which was after they cancelled the cruise completely (3/13/2020). This leads me to believe my cancellation was actually not put through by Royal whenever I called. I did receive an email stating my cruise was cancelled and I would receive the 125% FCC, confirmed this with a representative after Royal Caribbean said if you cancelled under Cruise with Confidence you were not eligible (They looked at my account and said my cruise was cancelled effective 3/13/20, the same day as RC canceled voluntarily). I then received an email 3/25/2020 saying that if you canceled with Cruise with Confidence, the booking was recorded as cancelled and you will not receive the 125%.

At this point it is a waiting game. As long as I receive the refunds and the 100% FCC I am happy. The extra 25% would just be an added bonus.

Yes, that has been circulating but their initial email and on social media, they have always said by April 13th.  So I will give the benefit of the doubt and wait it out till then.  It's not like we're going anywhere anytime soon. ?

Spoke with RC today and they said everything is delayed due to the mass amount of cancellations and that we can expect refunds within 30 days of cancellation, so I guess April 13th will be the day most of us get our refunds

Personally, I will give them until the 13th before I get worried.

    From their email:

    • General Refunds/Reimbursements: Most refunds take 5-7 business days + the time it takes your bank to post to your account. If you have not received your refund by March 30th, please reach out to us.

Curious minds want to know, when exactly did you cancel?

I called Wednesday 3/11/20, called to confirm 3/12/20 and confirmed via Facebook messenger 3/13/20.

I received my refund for the drink packages and wifi on 3/15/20, which is after they made the announcement, which is why I was curious if they ever actually got my cancellation put through.
