  1. One time I had asked for a table change and she told me to go to my first table the first night and they would put a card at my door for my new talbe. Thankfully I knew to check the app and saw my table change, so went to my new table on night 1. Always check the app if you make any requests while onboard. (well even when you board to ensure it is correct)
  2. I think most people do not think of having an emergency. I think most are also unaware that insurance companies do not typically pay for hospital bills outisde the country and that the hospitals expect payment up front, with the insurance company doing a reimbursement later, so even if insured-like these peole were-it did not help them in the actual emergency and even if they had insurance I question how quickly the insurer would have stepped in and if the hosptial would have accepted an insurance company "I'll pay soon".....
  3. Sorry to hear this,it can be an issue when you book lcoser to saiing-even 6 months out! WIth that said, you cannot always rely on what dining time you are given. I've had a few saiings where they changed me to My time-from early seating-without notice. I ususally check the app and go to the Main Dining room when I board to ensure I have what I wanted (shared table/early seating). My husband caughtt the My time dining change inthe app on the 2 cruises I failed to check! Additionally, I've requested linked cruises be placed at the same dining/table and that was not done on a few sailings. Fortunately we were able to get that straightened out as well. My TA informed me 2 weeks ago that one of my 3 reservations had a dining time changed to My time-WHAT??? So he had to get that cabin on the waitlist for early dining. I was just informed that the 3rd cabin is now back on early seating. (February cruise booked in March of '23!!) I share this because in addition to being on the wait list, even if you get moved you should check the app -to see what time they gave you, just in case you mysteriously get changed by the time you board the ship.
  4. I have purchased flights with an airline and paid for bags, but then it does not show as paid, and tells me to "add a bag". When I add a bag when doing check in it shows as a zero cost. Perhaps it will do that for you as well. I am not famiiliar with Westjet but did a quick google search and see where it says first bag fee included for EconoFlex, Premium and business fares as well as Silver, Gold and Platinum rewards members. Flight to Asia also have a bag included for Econo and Member exclusive fares
  5. Interesting. I am flying home from Vancouver to the US and had no problems booking my flight, on my own. Did you try and do a booking on your own, all the way to the shopping cart? maybe cal another travel agent and inquire, or an airline, or maybe call Air2Sea which is Royals travel agent....and inquire about booking a one way flight 1-844-278-9745. I HAVE booked one way from Barcelona to the US as well as one way from the US to London and I do get a pop up that states I MAY need to show proof of return, if needed. Your cruise ticket would be proof as to how you got into that country and it's highly likely that no one will ask for it. Additionally your passport will be recorded with the ship so the authorities can see how you arrived in their country.
  6. You all show up at the same time. If they (security/port staff) try to turn you away explain the situation and see if they’ll make the exception.
  7. The experience will vary by ship and those traveling. i was just on Anthem last month and the solo meet up was at 5pm-disappointing as that was early seating time. After 2 days in the main dining room with one particular table mate who was not at all personable I decided to go to the 5pm meet up and dine in the windjammer later. I’m glad I did. I met some wonderful people and enjoyed 5pm “wineo’clock”. It was a mix of a few guys and a few gals. I’ve been on ships where the meet up was in the Schoonerbar at 7pm (Jewel of the seas) there was no way to tell who was solo. I’ve found a great way to meet other solos is to run a meet and greet of your own on day 1 of the sailing. You can arrange that if there is a Facebook group for your sailing and set up an event. You could also ask for a shared table at dinner and you might hit it off with a table mate. When I’ve done shared tables I at least have friendly faces every night. (The exception being the one man on Anthem)
  8. Price a cruise without checking those boxes, then price it with and you might see a discount on the cruise. It will not work for all sailings.
  9. If you cannot see your cruise use the "link a missing cruise" feature in the app or on the website. If it does not allow you too I recommend you contact Royal Caribbean and have them fix this issue-even have them verify you are booked!
  10. no specials worth noting on any of the 14 cruises I have booked. All prices are higher than the BF sales too.
  11. Royal resolutions contacted my TA to say that they inadvertently gave me a refund from a paid cruise fare which puts the cruise in jeopardy of being cancelled as we are past final payment date. They took the $ now from my credit card on file. Meanwhile of my 18 purchases and 10 cancellations none of them match the $ amount they are discussing. My daughter's reservation is the one in jeopardy and she did not have any purchaes for hideaway beach on her reservation----resolutions is claiming it is a hideaway beach purchase that was part of their error. My spreadsheet now has a sub spreadsheet for just the cruises they are referring to. This is part of the BF debacle. Lesson learned to not make purchases on day 1 of their sale.
  12. Not to scare you, but..... I have a February cruise, paid in full via my ttravel agent. He just received a letter from RC stating I have an outstanding balance. He spent 2 hours on the phone with them going over charges that are all Black Friday related. It is extremely unfortunate as I was the one who did all purchases/returns/purchases....I had a total of 18 purchases and 10 returns spread across a number of cruises. I feel my privacy was violated with them going over ALL of my purchase/return history-which included many cruises that are NOT booked with this travel agent. I spent another 4 hours on my purchase history, credit card statements and my email confirmation/cancellations for all transactions to reconcile the things I could not figure out. Royal broke transactions into 6 seperate returns for what was one credit card charge. Things like this happened numerous times and I had to play detective to find the postings on my statement. Anyhow, I have it all figured out-there were a number of things that had used OBC so I thought Royal owed ME money!! but I have now reconciled every single purchase as well as cancellation with them. I do not owe a penny, nor am I owed a penny. They currently charged me $183 and change-via my travel agent and then called him back last night to ask for more $. Understand that if they think you owe $ they will cancel your cruise if it is not paid in full-according to THEIR paid in full standards. So everything might seem ok but if they can figure out an issue (or invent one) it may just bite you in the.... I have an email into Michael Bayley's office about my situation. I've also asked my travel agent to bring me into a 3 way call if resolutions calls again. He shouldn't be privvy to every single line item with Royal on cruise planner purchases for cruises he does not hold the booking for. I also want a guarantee tha tthe 4 cabins I have booked for my daughter's 21st birthday celebration are not cancelled. The irony of this is they are saying the issue is regarding hideaway beach. purchases and returns. My purchases and returns for hideaway were done under MY reservation. My daughter's reservation only dealt with Internet and beverage packages. Resolutions says that they somehow charged a purchase to the balance of my sailing, just yesterday issued a refund (not anywhere on my credit card statement) and then had the TA charge me via my card on file. I figure worst ase scenario is I do a dispute with my credit card company, but I would have to wait til the cruise ends in March-I want to be sure I get onboard that ship!
  13. I did one, each way and I thought both were fine. I adjust fairly easily to flying to Europe and "fixing my sleep". This go around we took a morning flight and landed in the evening, as opposed to an overnight flight. Either way I belive in a "good nap" and that it can fix things. So if I did the overnight flight I would have trouble sleeping on the plane (always do) and I would take a 3 hour nap once I got access to my hotel and then force myself awake and go out for a few hours and then back to bed my midnight and the next morning I am good to go. When I did my TA going over I had already been to Barcelona so just flew home. No issues with adjusting to being back in the US. Side note: When I took the TA from England back to the US I was able to purchase wine and not worry about flying it home....and I was in a drivable distance to my home when we came back to the US, so I could bring back A LOT of wine! Just ensure you have a method to carry it off the ship.
  14. I have a cruise past final payment, paid in full, for the end of February. Royal has reached out to my travel agent for $$ due. The alleged money due is from the Black Friday debacle of purchases made on the first day of the Black Friday sale (repeat after me-don't buy on Day 1 of BF sale-EVER). I have tried to reconcile my purchases vs my refunds for 2 credit card statements so far and needed to wait for statement #3 to go over that one as my statements from Oct to Nov and Nov to Dec did not have all of my cancellation and repurchases showing. This is BEYOND FRUSTRATING. To top it off Royal reached out to my TA today -unbeknowst to me- to go over my cancellations and purchases and "rectify" the now almost $200 they say i owe. (from cruise planner purchases). The poor TA. He was 2 hours on the phone and told me I have "a lot" of things my kids must be using my credit card for! LOL I told him, no, that was me-gettng my best pricing for those 4 cabins. worth of cruise planner purchases. Sadly I have other cruises via the casino that i now need to look at and see if there is a threat for cancellation there. So after that conversation about Hideaway Beach repricing he texted to tell me they just called him again for more outstanding balance issues on the February bookings. So tonight I'll try to put this is "simple ease" for the TA as to what was purchased on which date -with Order # and Cost, the cancellation date/conf #, the credits and charges to my credit card statements. It took me over 4 hours to pull statements, pull confirmations and cancellations and go over my own credit card statements.....Royal, in it's infinite wisdom refunded purchases PER PERSON for some cancellations as opposed to DOLLAR AMOUNT TOTAL-took me a while to figure that out too! SO, if you were a person who did purchases on that first night of BF sales-Nov 8 I believe-then check those bank statements to see if they all posted and if it was done correctly.
  15. You can each carry on a bottle of wine. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/food-drink-onboard-policy the wine mark up is ridiculous. 40% off can bring the price to $30 and that’s their “cheap” wine -than add the 18% gratuity.
  16. Item #1. You are hanging out with the wrong crowd. item #2. Ssshhhh don’t give them any ideas!
  17. Agree, maybe write a suggestion letter to Royal…point out how it wastes an agents time.
  18. Royal and logic?? it’s more likely someone would have to maintain a database or program (you can tell I’m not a program writer) to cross reference the cruise planner to your C&A level AND casino prime level. I see it as one more thing that would go wrong.
  19. No claw machines. I know there’s 3 card poker and I believe 2 other tables. The casino is small
  20. Had to open the dictionary for that one. Lo and behold, my photo was next to the definition
  21. It should be in your travel documents when they become available as to where to meet the bus-those become available when the luggage tags are avialble-at about 30 days prior to the sailing. It was on mine for Texas but it was incorrect, for some bizarre reason the rep thought I was flying in and going through customs-despite my telling them it was flights within the US> so mine said meet the rep on the other side of customs. That said, there is something to flying in a day early, I flew in a day early, and it just so happened my luggage had gone to Terminal C and that is where I saw a table for Carnival cruise pick up.....I asked them if Royal picks up there and they pointed out where. So the next day I knew where I had to go and took my hotel shuttle to the location the next day. (this was Texas). I recommend you check your travel documents for the information-it was in one of the back pages- again, those documents become available when the luggage tags are available-usually about 30 days prior to your cruise. If there is a facebook group for your sailing you can also ask in there as to the pick up location-chances are high there may be someone who is also taking the shuttle.
  22. There’s a “videos” button you can watch videos of various Royal things
  23. The “check in” button no longer shows unless you’ve already checked in./within your check in window. You can still see your check in date for upcoming cruises under your profile.
