Thanks for the warm welcome & advice guys 😊 its greatly appreciated we only have a week to decide what to do so were really feeling pressured. Was feeling really content with the Brilliance as there seemed to be a good entertainment/food/activities variety. 😮💨

Is there enough entertainment/activities to keep you going on the smaller ship, ive read a few old cruise compass's for the ship and they seem a little sparce?

Are the offered RC shore excursions on a smaller ship the same as on a larger vessel? Or does the Odyssey have a larger choice with there been 3 times as many guests? Etc

Were a very active couple so im worried well get a little bored if there isnt much to do or try on the Enchantment.

Once again thanks all for all your help. It is really helping disprese some stress 🙂 many thanks

We completed a cruise on Enchantment at the end of June (6 night to Bermuda). We were also booked on Mediterranean cruises next summer on Brilliance - when the change in ships was announced, we cancelled. Some of what we experienced on Enchantment is likely due to pandemic constraints, but it was bad enough that there was basically no debate about cancelling. We were in a 2BR grand suite on Enchantment, by the way, had the 2BR owner's suite booked B2B on Brilliance (that room type isn't available on Enchantment, either, they would have had to downgrade us). We've received our first refund, just waiting on our second.

I have an upcoming Celebrity cruise.  I just received the following.  I was wondering if the cruise lines were heading in this direction,  I’m not sure if this has been around or is new.  I don’t like how vague it is about your current stateroom and getting a point.

    interesting concept!

FYI, you can see right through that black highlighter to the numbers and name underneath.

If there's actually any bourbon on board...

They were making Kentucky Summers with WT101 by day two of my cruise. Pool bar was the only one that had Buffalo Trace or Maker's by that time. Ended up skipping cocktails and just drinking Glenlivet neat.

  4. Enchantment had the orange cheap cups - except for one that we used to protect a souvenir, we threw them in the trash. We would have kept the tumblers (and were looking forward to them). They have straws that are annoying to clean and no insulation, so they weren't worth keeping. The RFID was a sticker, if you wanted to transfer said sticker to a new cup (bring your own insulated tumbler), it's very easy, the shower steam heats up the sticker enough for it to fall off and then you can reapply to a new cup.

In @Ampurp85case, if she booked a second person into the “paid” room and she stayed in the casino comp, it seems like it would be ok ?  The second name on the paid booking would check in but she never would.  She would just be a no-show for the paid booking. Would they cancel the casino comp just b/c she didn’t show for the paid room ?  That’s the important question.

I assumed they were trying to get the double points for the paid solo room. But I also don't know how points work with casino comps.

I have a rather interesting query. I was wondering if it is possible to book multiple rooms under your name? I.e I have a room booked, solo, for an oasis class sailing, but then I also have a casino promo. I was wondering if it was possible to book another room on that same sailing in my name, with another person included. But I would stay in the currently booked room and the other person would stay in the other room? Basically, I am asking in one person can book multiple rooms.

You can book two rooms, but you can't check in to both of them.

If you had a paid room and a casino room, you would have to check into one of them. Essentially on check-in you would check in to the paid room and be a no-show on the casino room. Second person checks into the casino room, everything's maybe ok? Depends on the terms and conditions of that room, they might try to claw back the money if the casino comped individual doesn't show up for the casino comped cruise (even though you kind of did). Try it and let us know what happens. 😄

I've also been curious about the answer to this question in regards to having a person in a room that provides suite benefits in addition to a separate non-suite stateroom.

For example, a family is booked in a star class room and wants grandma who is booked in a balcony room to also get the DBP and UDP benefits while being able to sleep in a different room.

I'd imagine there could be issues when counting passengers for the manifest and muster station assignments, but I haven't heard any solid answer to this question.

Problem again is that you can only check-in to one cabin. If grandma checks into suite to get fancy seapass, no one checks into the sleeping cabin and it is closed. If grandma checks into the sleeping cabin she doesn't get a fancy seapass.

The only way this would work is to have another person to get around the empty room problem - that person would not get star benefits. You would have your star suite with grandma booked in it, other person book whatever other type of cabin they want, grandma gets a key for second cabin and sleeps there, but has a star class seapass for the benefits. Other option is to just pay for the packages, put her in a grand suite if she needs to eat at CK with you and have access to the lounge.

  7. Thanks everyone, unfortunately it was too late. Brock from MEI tried, but both booking transfers were rejected by the sales administration office. Next time I'll have a contact, though!

Would transferring to a TA help with getting a cruise repriced?  I recently saw that the price of my cruise went way down and in speaking to Costco (whom I booked the cruise through) and Royal they said I was too late to get anything.  Seems kinda unfair because i booked a few days after the cutoff and people booking now can get a better price but nobody who booked in between?

That was one of my hopes. But if it's outside the policy (which someone way more knowledgeable will post soon, I'm sure), not much a TA can do either.

  8. Hi all,

We're about to go on our first Royal Caribbean cruise Friday (just got our negative test results back), but have already booked a back to back pair in the Mediterranean next year. After lots of fun with this cruise (ahem), I'm considering transfer of those two existing bookings to a travel agent. Problem is, we don't have one. I'd like to give MEI a shot, but I'm not sure exactly how to go about it - do we contact MEI and they assign an agent, try to contact an individual agent here, just submit the website phone number and hope for the best?

For those who have cruised recently, how long does it take RC to validate your uploaded vaccine card info to the app?  I uploaded our family's cards 10 days ago and it still says, "we are validating your record".

    Thanks!

Took about two weeks for ours, but don't worry, they will be looking at the physical card when you arrive regardless.

Currently in the Northeast?  None.  Coming soon?

    Summed up in this post:

    https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2021/08/03/royal-caribbean-announces-restart-plans-remaining-ships-the-fleet

New ships joining the restart soon:

That Oasis is listed out of Cape Liberty is kind of misleading, as there are only three cruises for that ship/port combo, and they're all next year (May, June, August). Maybe there were others but they're all sold out?

"... we went for a walk around the rocks came back to the terminal..." Ahhhh....no. You don't get to wander around...unless someone has never been on a cruise and thinks you can. Fake post.

Gotcha, I've only cruised out of two ports, so I don't know how it works everywhere. I thought you were focused on the effective date of the policy.

    FAKE POST

    From the RCL policy:

COVID-19 presents the most serious health risks to older individuals, the immunocompromised, and those with serious, underlying medical conditions.  Therefore, effective Monday, March 16:

    a.  Boarding will be denied to any person age 70 or older, unless the guest provides written verification from a qualified treating physician that certifies the person has no severe, chronic medical condition and is fit to travel.

    b. Boarding will be denied to any person with a severe, chronic medical condition, including those specified by the CDC. Guests of all ages will be screened prior to boarding, regarding underlying health issues that may prevent them from sailing, i.e.  chronic heart, lung, liver, or kidney disease, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, or cancer.

Because Royal employees always follow the policies correctly? I'm not saying this happened, but I can definitely see that it might have.
