  1. @PRebecca I really wanted to go to that one but booo....its during Thanksgiving. My grandmother is from the south and you spend holidays like that with family.
  2. Glad you made it to Miami safely ?. I am one of those people who is a very picky eater, I don't like seafood....except fried shrimp. That being said I will try something once and I have learned that cold seafood is the worst?. Deep fry and blast with seasonings so I cannot taste please. Alligator bites looks a lot like stretched out calamari....did it taste good...or did the beer really help?
  3. I don't know about OBC or specialty dining .......maybe my TA doesn't like me. But a TA (travel agent) might also have more insight and availability when it comes to cabins. I use John from MEI which I got from this site and he has been quite helpful. I have booked a few cruises and transferred to him because I wanted a particular room. It is much better to email him and ask for whatever than to be on hold with RCC customer service and get answers that vary.
  4. @DDaley So...wow....do you plan to take all of these? Or do you do this spreadsheet to weigh out the possibilities? I use excel to keep tabs of my expenses and make sure I am saving enough for each cruise..also making sure I am getting value. But this seems like a cruisers dream...40 cruises over like 3 years!!!!!
  5. @SteveinSC Two words.....SausagePatty.... ButterCrust. Also yeah those Brazilian steakhouses get a hold of you and next thing you know you feel much light since they took some of your soul. New Orleans got me with beignets too, who would have thunk bread and powder sugar? That is why when I am not on vacation or cruising, I am on a strict eat-what-you-cook-only diet. It stops me from offering up my soul and overindulging.
  6. Whenever I do any tours, I always use Viator. They will allow to cancel up to 24hrs and offer private and larger groups. They also offer the best deals imo, we got private guides for Cairo at a steal.
  7. @SteveinSC Well you might sell your soul for Lou Malnatis or Pizano's, way better than Giordanos pizza.
  8. @FManke That's also when patio furniture comes out at the restaurants downtown. Nothing like enjoying a meal in the sunny, cold breeze
  9. @FManke What is weird is that it is totally normal to grill in the snow. We've been in our backyard and look over to see the neighbors in their down coats doing the same.
  10. @FManke I was literally just telling my brother this is barbecuing weather?
  11. I find that by booking early the whole thing works itself out. Historically you will see a trend on ticket prices. I live in Chicago and I know I can fly to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando any time, at a decent price. So I start my search looking for cruises that leave from there. However, if I was to spot an insane deal from Seattle, the East coast or Europe, then I would be using Kayak and Google flights sporadically to get a read on the ticket prices. I do this with all my travel and not just cruises, I find the flights to be the easiest part....but I live by O'hare a very busy airport
  12. @SteveinSC I said a deep, strong prayer that God would see you through this natural disaster he caused.
  13. @ZsOverseas Well at least it is something and fairly close, in my opinion. $300 OBC is more than $0 and can be used to make your time even more spectacular.
  14. I am glad this was a dream come true for your wife and sister. Those Sloths were soooooooo cute, I hate monkeys though....they knew what they did.
  15. So I have a cruise scheduled for Jan 2021 and nothing is showing up on the planner yet. Usually it takes about 10 months or less. I would suggest telling people to plan for $68+ 18% gratuity for the deluxe. You might see a black Friday sale that gets it to $51-55. As far as refreshments goes I would say $26 +18% again it mighty be $18-21 during an extreme sale. I doubt the $18 dx pg will happen anytime soon....or even again.....they are training interns better?
  16. If I could do 4 weeks on a ship I would. Get off and stretch my legs at each port so I can feel the land every once and a while. Absence makes the heart grow fonder....unless they are trying to find ways to leave you.
  17. @twangster I think you were Bart, I think Lisa started that fight and Bart was defending himself...like you were defending your title?
  18. OMG I would be so here for this...I would be that gif with a smile on my face, slowing sipping my drink. I love it when people are delusional about their karaoke skills. Also I know the feeling, you gots to be loyal to your man.
  19. Ugh I just checked cruise planner and I have about 239 for my next RCC. I am 60 days away for my first ever Carnival cruise. I didn't book it, its a birthday cruise my brother's friend planned. But the great thing is that after that all my cruises until 2022 are on RCC and within 104 days of each other.
  20. This is how you settle that dispute...my money is on Bart
  21. I just want to say to the original question when it comes to Asia and the Middle East I would always exercise caution. Both places have a highly concentrated area of people without the same access to sanitary resources. If it is not CV it could be anything, not to mention all the political/social aspects. With that being said you could just as easily catch something and die anywhere. I hate the phrase YOLO but it is true. Book what you want just make sure you prepare for any outcome.
  22. On my bucket list is to do a B2B and I thought this was going to happen this year. Unfortunately I could not swing 14 days on Liberty, so it is nice to know that what i planned is actually called a cruise term. I have version of a side to side coming up in Oct/Nov. I do Liberty Oct 25th and when I embark that sun I fly out to board Navigator on Mon the 2nd. Its not a true S2S or B2B but it is 2 cruises within 24hrs of each other. The important thing is that its 2 cruises ???
  23. @SteveinSC As a Chicagoan this has me literally dead. I love the reaction of cities that don't get snow or cold weather. I remember the light sprinkle of snow that shut Dallas down for 3 days...meanwhile it snowed 3in, rained and dropped to below zero over the course of 2 days and it was business as usual. Also MILK BREAD SANDWICHES???
  24. Well its is booked and considering there is still like 2 years left, I am sure my TA will reprice it a few times over. Also who knows, maybe by then I won't be a single gal???
