The TA will run interference for you with the cruise line if anything goes wrong..that's the biggest benefit provided you use a TA with good customer service.

That’s awesome!! What an amazing ship this will be for first time RC cruiser! 

I will be braving the kiddo zone for pics and impressions.  I have a few non-blog friends who also need the low down on tot town.  I probably won't get into Adventure Ocean itself (don't worry - @Matt will no doubt cover it), but I'll get the more public areas.

That's right, for the FIRST TIME, your favorite (only?) Royal Caribbean Blog moderators (me, @AshleyDillo, and @Lovetocruise2002) are sailing on the same ship at the same time!  This is going to be epi..... errrr... dare I say "ICONIC"?
I am so excited for this sailing.  There will be so many new things and so many old and new friends to spend time with.  Each one of us will contribute in our own way.  If there's something on the ship that YOU want us to document, ask a moderator!!!!!!!

Hi All,  I saw this video online of Icon that has been posted.  Seems to show a bunch of different areas and some of the new food offerings and random other things.  
Thought you might want to see it as well as seems to have areas like the empire supper club etc that I hadn't seen in other videos.   
The ship looks beautiful,  look forward to getting on board.

I spotted a Starlink internet antenna.


I've not seen them mounted on a pole like this.  Perhaps snow mitigation?

Mandatory IAATO and Zodiac briefing in the theater this morning.  If you don't attend you are stuck on the ship until the end of the cruise.  

Basically they played the same videos that were available on the plane coming to Puerto Williams.

After muster it was time for sail away. 
Remember how I mentioned the long days?  These photos were taken at 10:18pm.

The red bag contained a complimentary parka.  A form for sizing was submitted several weeks ago online.  Also complimentary is a water bottle and a waterproof backpack.

A short bus ride later and there was the Silver Wind.



I'm pretty sure someone was in trouble for staying out late with the boys.


Upon boarding we surrendered our passports and collected our key cards.

We passed through areas that were cloudy and areas completely clear.  Roughly halfway there were some beautiful snow capped mountains below us.


I spotted a hanging glacier.

Don't give Jason Liberty any ideas (or excuses).  

Why is this hidden here in this section?! I am moving it to "Live Blogs". People are blogging Royal and X over there, so might as well add Silversea to the list!

The airport in Puerto Williams is the Southernmost airport in the world with commercial airline service.

At 1,440 m or 4,724 feet, the runway is a decent size but well short of the runway length found at most larger airports.  Hence the need to take off with minimum fuel given the luggage that us cruise guests love to pack.  We'll have just enough fuel to make Punta Arenas.
