Coastal Kitchen question for Suite guests
wordell1 replied to happy cruisers 2's topic in Royal Caribbean Dining
We ate in CK every night. I requested to have the same waiter and table every night so that they were able to get to know us and our preferences. -
I wouldn't expect to be able to substitute with something not on the menu.

The best advice is to put in a bid that you are comfortable with. If you would gladly pay the price knowing you would win, then bid that amount. I wouldn't get to wrapped up in it. With ships selling out and sailing full, the chances of winning are really slim.

As stated above, there are a few nice perks for being Gold but you are correct in that the real perks come at Diamond. The free drinks and use of the Diamond Lounge are the perks I value the most. I also don't think there is enough of a difference in perks as you progress to Platinum, Emerald, etc on the way to Diamond. Keep cruising and you will find yourself at Diamond before you know it.

There will be several photographers set up in locations around the promenade. They should be set up before and after your 5:30 dinner time. I would plan to meet at 5pm and try to hit a few spots before dinner. It will be a little busier after dinner, but it is usually only a short wait at each location. They will accommodate any combination of shots that you want. You don't need to buy any that you don't want.

There is a section for cruise compasses on this site that will at least give you an idea of what would be scheduled when. The most recent one for Oasis is June 30th, 2023. It should be reasonably close. Oasis of the Seas 7-night Bahamas and Perfect Day Cruise Compass - June 30, 2023 | Royal Caribbean Blog

Are Luggage tags required for carry on?
wordell1 replied to EddieC's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Whatever you carry on to the ship does not need the luggage tags. You can check as many bags as you want so i would definitely check anything you don't want to carry. -

The hotel is just OK but is in a great location.

Yes, it's one of the benefits of using NextCruise.

Just understand that Florence is not close to La Spezia. No matter what your choice, you will spend a lot of time driving and not a lot of time in Florence, especially if you are doing Pisa also. Viator has a lot of choices.

I don't know the cost of a taxi, but I would highly recommend that you try to hike out to the falls. We did the whale watch and did a short hike to the lake near Mendenhall glacier, but I was wishing we had done one that hiked out to those falls. It looked really worth it.

1. I can't speak to Taxis, but Seattle has the worst Uber/Lyft pickup system I have ever seen. 2. There is a really great french pastry place called Le Panier at Pikes Place Market. You will be up early with the 3 hour time change and it is not busy early. All of the place at Pikes Place have long lines by lunch. 3. There are lots of hills in the Pikes Place area. Plan accordingly if you are planning to walk. The Market itself is way higher than the waterfront area. 4. The aquarium is not that big, but it was well done and worth it in my opinion. 5. You could consider checking your bags on the return flight and using the port check in available onboard the ship. It may be worth the extra cost to check your bag - there is no extra cost beyond what the airline charges. If you haven't already, you may want to look at my live blog of our cruise from a month ago.

I try to pack light (when flying) and will often use the laundy service on a few shirts to get me through the week. It works well and is not as expensive as checking an extra bag on the airline.

Question about Victoria, British Columbia
wordell1 replied to Dani Marie's topic in Shore Excursions
It was a normal security check when we went back aboard in Victoria a few weeks ago on Ovation. It should be no issue with candy or food. -
I like the Suite reserved seating at the pool. The ability to order room service is also nice. Free drinks in the suite lounge at happy hour. Plus a really nice room.

This! All of the doors look the same.

Explorer of Seas — poor experience
wordell1 replied to Southsider's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Definitely disappointing, but is unfortunately a possibility that all of us should understand can happen for many reasons. In most cases, you get an extra day at sea, so I would say that any replacement port is better than none.
