  1. Had you booked a refundable deposit cruise, you would have been able to make this change. The reason for the $100 PP change fee is b/c you booked a non-refundable cruise. That's the way they work.
  2. No. The very fact that Royal allows you to purchase the refreshment package in lieu of the deluxe package is somewhat unusual. Most lines require everyone in the cabin above the age of 21 to purchase the UBP if anyone does. If you want the UDP, you will have to purchase either the UDP or refreshments pkg for your mother. That's just the way it is. Nobody gets around this rule.
  3. I love this idea !!
  4. You're so welcome. Absolutely, ANY time you don't get the answer you want the first time, ALWAYS hang up and call again. Good luck !
  5. I do not know if it does or not. My guess is, it does not...but someone else can verify this, I'm sure.
  6. Add safety pins to that list !! I always seem to need one for some reason or another.
  7. As long as you booked using North American rules, absolutely YES !!! You can definitely reprice your cruise BUT you will not get a refund for any $$ that would represent a savings. The good news is...you will be in a much nicer cabin for the same money. Have the Travel Agent do it for you or call Royal and have them take care of it. Great sleuthing !!! Welcome to the blog, BTW !
  8. You cannot. All dining pkg reservations must be made on board (except for that first one). The price you pay for getting a discount on your specialty dining is that you cannot make your reservations ahead of time. ...but don’t be concerned. Take care of making the reservations as soon as you board and you will get the locations and times you want.
  9. So sweet !
  10. This is a very real thing !
  11. On Oasis and Quantum class only.
  12. ^^this exactly^^
  13. Wow. How nice of you to think of me. I'm doing GREAT. Yesterday was a bitch....everything hurt. But today, my range of motion is increasing quickly, the pain is subsiding andI'm eating again. I wanted NOTHING to do with food on days 1 or 2. Thank you for thinking of me !!!
  14. I wondered the same thing. I think there is a protocol in place that requires to Capt. to report any sick pax or crew. My guess is that, in the past, they didn't really worry that much about this issue, but b/c of recent events, they (the ports) are now enforcing it strictly.
  15. Hey, Steph. I do recall someone posting about this exact thing about a week or 2 ago.
  16. Nope. You CAN delay purchasing the internet but once you buy it, you must buy it for the remainder of the voyage.
  17. The bus driver(s) will have a list of people who have paid and they will just check you off when you arrive. I'm pretty sure you should just stay on for another week....
  18. I wouldn’t hold my breath for any significant changes. To my knowledge the Chops Menu hasn’t changed in a decade with possible addition of the (extra $$) seafood tower.
  19. My son is also an EMS FF in Beaufort, SC. He is a Captain now ! Yippee
  20. I agree with Twangster, that a great deal of her “rare in-person-appearance” is probably due to the location of the ATS. I have noticed a distinct reduction of in-person Genie visits when we have been in ATS. Should you be penalized b/c you are so far away ? Of course not but in practicality, it’s a long haul all the way back there. ...and there are 6 such SC suites on the O class. That’s a lot of hiking. But I will say, even when the Genie missed us in the suite, he would find us at least twice during the evenings when we were out. It kind of evens out. To be honest, Dan hates the Genie interruptions so he’s just as glad when they don’t just “pop by”.
  21. Freedom suites will not include any of these (when you say “meals” I assume you mean specialty dining). Sky class, on the Oasis and Quantum class ships will include internet but only Star Class includes internet, specialty dining and Deluxe Beverage pkgs
  22. The rules definitely require you to initialize your UDP on nights 1 or 2 BUT I have read and heard that they are flexible about this. Once on board you should be able to have them switch things around. ...but, as Matt Says, be prepared for “no” as that is the official answer.
  23. On Oasis in December we had Joyce order BBQ from port side and have it delivered to the suite. It was passable, for me, but I thought the macaroni and cheese was awful. I had pulled pork and Dan had the brisket. Without a doubt, the brisket was better of those 2. The pork was pre-sauced and I am actually not much of a BBQ sauce fan. I prefer my pulled pork au naturale. Next time I intend to try it on site. I think it will be better, fresh. Speaking of the hot tub, we never even turned ours on. I was afraid I would kill myself getting in/out of the thing and it seemed as if it might take forever to fill....the truth about which I will not know, since I never tried.
  24. OMG, I am so sorry to hear this !
