  1. I totally sympathize. I would encourage you to go this one time. If you are really having a BAD time you can always excuse yourself but honestly, I don't think you will find that necessary. As I said, I was very surprised that I could tolerate it much less enjoy it. Try it once. You don't ever have to do it again if you really don't enjoy it. Especially since you are basically getting it for free (except for the $25 wine upcharge). Of course, I realize nothing is free...but it's your one chance to try it out without much of a $$ cost.
  2. It's definitely fleet-wide but it doesn't rotate on a yearly basis. This same menu has been going for some time.
  3. It's interesting that you say that. When we were on our B2B SC cruises on Anthem in 2019 we did Spectra twice. The first cruise the Genie sat us up front but I felt like I was constantly having to turn around in my seat to see what was happening behind me. The second week we sat a bit farther back (so that we were at least behind those pedestals that come out of the rear stage) and I thought the show was much better on the second showing. Now...we had already sat through the show once and knew what was coming so that may have had something to do with it. Either way, we enjoyed both Spectra and WWRY. I know that @Jaxreally did not enjoy Spectra but I thought it was at least sensually stimulating and that's about all you can expect for a ship show (did I just say that ??). Truthfully, I have never ever seen a show on a ship (with the possible exception of Cats and Grease. Mama Mia has a plot but it is to asinine that I refuse to include it in this list) where there was any plot to speak of. I have come to expect for the show to NOT have any plot and it makes it a lot easier when my expectations are confirmed and there is not.... And just so ya know, I am a fan of neither Cats nor Grease...but I will begrudgingly admit that there is at least a semblance of a plot there.
  4. Believe it or not, I am really not a particularly social person....and I am TERRIBLE at small talk....but this is also the aspect of the CT that I always enjoy. I am about as far from a "foodie" as you can get so the food itself at the CT is largely wasted on me and there are very few wines that I actually enjoy...but I truly do enjoy the people that we meet doing the CT. It's always surprising to me how much I end up enjoying the meal.
  5. WOW. That is awesome. You have the place practically to yourselves !
  6. Congratulations to your daughter, @excellent! I sure hope it works out so that she can come along. I'm sure she needs a break (as do the rest of you, I'm sure). Good luck
  7. Is this a casino comp ? If so, the person who "owns" the comp must sail....so if you have a casino comp and do not show up for whatever reason, the other person will not be able to sail using the comp. They would be repriced at the prevailing rate. What I am not sure about is what happens to the comp itself. If it is an annual prime (or higher) comp not sure if you would get the comp back or if it would just go bye-bye. If it is an earned comp certificate I suspect it is just forfeit.
  8. I now have -0- between now and the end of March. I recently cancelled 79 nights, all in suites between 12-23-21 to 3-31-22. I still have 44 scheduled through the end of 22 but not holding my breath for going on those, either.
  9. I had to reset my password a number of weeks ago. Every once in a while the system will just make you do it !
  10. Thanks so much, Brian. That is really good news.
  11. Don’t knock it til you try it. They are very good !
  12. As @Poochsaid, the KL is in the middle of the "strand" surrounded by other restaurants so there's nothing particularly unique about the KL itself. We have been going there since before it was the Krazy Lobster (it used to be Coco Loco and owned by a guy from East LA). There are many restaurants that, frankly, are probably just as good...but we maintain a (probably undeserved) loyalty to the Lobstaaah. They have some nice hammocks and there is almost always someone willing to give you an awesome $25 massage. Word of caution on the massage [price]. DO NOT allow anyone else to "negotiate" a massage on your behalf. The price will immediately [at least] double and the pimp will get his/her cut. The massage tables are everywhere along the beach so all you have to do is walk up yourself and negotiate your price. Do we actually pay $25 or a $25 massage. No. We always tip very generously so our massage is never EVER $25 but there are some cheapskates (we travel with some) who will cheap out and give them only $25. Shame... Truthfully, I have never seen the sea grass at the KL but I know that it can be a problem there just like it is at Maya Chan. I think the restaurants along the strand work together to keep it cleaned up pretty well so I have personally never seen it there. If you can get past the roving peddlers, the $1 Coronas and the fresh grilled [warm water] lobsters are worth it !
  13. Personal experience ? LOL
  14. I agree with @jeffmw, @Pooch and @melmar02. No balcony is truly private. ....and more importantly, nobody cares what you are doing or will be watching or looking at you ! Honestly, for people who are that worried about privacy, I recommend an interior room where nobody can see in or out. Others are too busy having fun on their own to be watching what you're doing ! If someone is gawking at you, give them the big 1 finger salute and carry on.
  15. 1. As the others have suggested, a TA really cannot offer a reduced price on a Royal Caribbean cruise unless the booking is part of an Agency group. Some of the bigger agencies will "hold" a number of cabins [normally in the lower categories] and lock in a somewhat reduced price with Royal. Rarely do these reduced prices make enough of a difference for me to be interested. 2. If you book a cruise yourself directly with Royal Caribbean, you can transfer that booking to a TA within 30 days (used to be 60 but they changed it recently). NOTE: Booking with one of the consolidator agencies (Expedia, Kayak, Priceline, etc.) is the SAME as booking with a travel agency....those agencies ARE travel agencies so if you book through one of them you will NOT be able to move your booking. 3. Yes. A casino booking can be moved to a TA but some of the conditions have changed in the past couple of years and casino bookings are no longer as attractive to travel agents as they once were. Rather than actually holding the booking directly, a TA can only be listed as an associate (my term, not theirs. Not sure what the actual term is) on the booking. The TA will be able to access the booking, reprice, cancel, change cabins and/or categories, etc. but they are not the owners of the booking (the casino still holds the booking). I believe the TA still receives some commission but it is not the full commission that they used to get. I believe it is a flat fee but I'm not sure about that. Also, be aware that many travel agents are not particularly skilled at dealing with the casino. If you plan on booking casino deals and you want a TA to help you with that, I recommend you get someone who knows how to interact with the casino program. As I mentioned, a lot of the rules for casino bookings have recently changed and it is to your advantage to use a TA that is aware of recent changes and knows how to negotiate the casino program whims. If you manage to get all of that in place, booking casino offers is still a very good option.
  16. I'm afraid it's worse than that....
  17. I can't remember, Robert !!
  18. We love the Krazy Lobster b/c of the location, the food and the fact that we can almost always get a 1 hour massage on the beach for $25 !! What you have to be willing to tolerate on the Mahahual beach are the roving peddlers which are extremely annoying. They are not pushy or rude but they are definitely nonstop. Amazingly, we have never been to Maya Chan but I hear it is really nice so long as the sea grass is not a problem.
  19. I have no interest whatsoever in any of the water slides on PDCC but I have always secretly wanted to go and play on the pirate ship just outside the water park. That actually looks like fun.
  20. Has anyone successfully gotten a true mattress topper recently ? I know that they quit giving the foam ones out a while back. I wondered if they had started giving them out again. A couple of times the room attendant would throw a couple of folded futon covers under the bottom sheet which was minimal relief.
  21. Thanks, Sharla for correcting my mistake !
  22. Yes, room service is complimentary for GS and above regardless of which ship class.
