From the time the lawyer showed up, a day after the incident, it ceased to be about the grief.  It became all about the money the lawyer thinks he could get from Royal.

The latest spin from the family's lawyers is the series of photos where they claim the railing prevented Sam Anello from being able to reach, lean out of or hold Chloe out of the window as he originally admitted to doing, they claim he was unable to determine the window was open.  Consider this, the video shows Sam holding Chloe in front of him for "34 seconds" before he "lost his grip" and dropped her to the pier below.  If he was holding her up to the window as he claims for "34 seconds" so that she could bang on it as he claims, in that LONG duration, he wasn't able notice her banging against plain air and not a window!  Please tell the truth, the pictures taken by the sleazy lawyer show a man with his arms bent at his side with only his forearms extending forward, Sam had his full arms extended forward as he held Chloe out the window, actually "outside" the ship just before "he" dropped he to her death.  Stop lying and trying to capitalize on the death of your own child that was caused by all of your own hands, it's blood money, enough!

What bothers me the most, all pictures showing Chloe banging on the window at the hokey game show her standing on the floor as these window are similar to the wall of windows from the floor to the ceiling at the pool area of  Freedom of the Seas. The grandpa did not need to put her over the safety barrier and on the narrow window ledge (so called baby play area!). If he kept her on the floor as she was shown at the ice rink, she would be alive. It was solely the Grandpa moronic action which killed her. I hate to see her family going to the bank with a fat check from RCL after the poor child died because of their negligence (or something more sinister). I paid my cruise fare, watched my child and had a good time. Kid is in his twenties and plans to go for RCL cruise for the honeymoon.  I hope the courts take these pictures in their considerations -they show how preposterous is their lawsuit.

So parents want PR to drop all charges against the grandpa so they can sue RCL for millions - if they get a dime from the cruise line it will be a travesty of justice. I guess we could say that crime pays!. They filed a lawsuit against RCL which is a lie after lie, after lie. The pictures they enclosed are  more like pictures from the cruise ship ad  and not relevant to the case. And even these pictures show occasionally adults walking and sitting at the tables and nobody putting kids on the railing or windows!. Another news source shows their lawyer by the railing and looking at this picture alone  anybody would determine that you need to be absolutely reckless moron to put the toddler on this narrow window ledge. Also the railing height and distance to the window would deter any sane person to put there a baby. There is a general consensus that even if you happen to be suddenly color blind, anybody standing in front of the open window should feel the breeze. He admitted on CBS TV that he felt the breeze and could not feel the panel. Unless he is retarded, he should conclude that the window was open.  He is guilty of child endargerment and reckless homicide. There are warnings to stay away of the railings all over the ship and he ignored them. Apparently, even if RCL placed floating in the mid air "This window is open" sign, he would ignore too!

I have a lot of issues to accept that the Grandpa was only guilty of child endargement /negligent homicide. Look at the video I am attaching - he practically had all his upper torso out of the window for about 40 seconds. So our IT man had to know the window was open - https://metro.co.uk/2019/12/18/distressing-videos-show-moment-grandfather-dropped-toddler-death-off-cruise-ship-11929902/. CCTV cameras do not lie. If he can work as an IT person and drive  cars he can see and he is not that dumb and decrepit as the family lawyer presents. Also, the picture provided of the railing in front of the window and the narrow window ledge make my skin cringe - it is so narrow that I would not put there my purse or even a drink! Placing a toddler there is more than reckless homicide! Well, he loved her but she had some serious health problems which could spell bleak future for her. With all inconsistency, was it a mercy killing?

Sorry, but I strongly disagree with the use of "careless" here -- under the most casual of examination, this was anything but a careless mistake. It may not have been a deliberate action as some have worried, but it is absolutely demonstrative of a complete lack of common sense and good judgement. When the individual is lacking in that, any action they take cannot be described as "careless". Reckless and/or negligent? Absolutely. Flaunting authority? Possibly, given the grandfather is on the record as being someone who believes laws about seat belts and other safety-related rules of the road don't apply to him.
But careless? I refuse to accept that in the face of the mountain of evidence we've seen.

But one thing you are right about. Chloe is dead because of her grandfather's actions. And that is a tremendous tragedy no matter the circumstances.

So now the family wants the CCTV recorded images of the tragedy dropped because the CCTV camera lied! They want to continue to insist that window ledge on the 11th floor of the ship is a baby play area! And the grandpa who is supposedly working as IT man and drives cars, cannot tell whether the window is open? If the video gets thrown out and he gets acquitted, I think our justice system would need total overhaul. They are all for the money before even the child body turn cold. He should go to jail and the parents should get nothing!

I believe the parents lawsuit against Royal Caribbean should be dismissed and negligent homicide charges against the grandfather should be pursued. I hope he will be convicted of the charges. There is so much lying in this case that I do not know whether it is not an intentional accident:
    1. Grandpa put the child over the safety barrier and on the window ledge which is a reckless and negligent action by any child guardian. The window ledge never will by a safe baby play area,
    2. The Grandpa claims he is color blind. However, this has nothing to do in determining whether the window is close or open. He said on a national TV that he felt a  breeze and could not feel the window panel. I never found a person that cannot determine whether window is close or open. Also, he admitted that he was not quite certain whether the window was closed but after sticking his head and upper torso outside the window, he decided to put the child there. It was at best a reckless action leading to the negligent homicide charges.
    3. While at the PR precinct, he refused to take a blood test claiming his medication would produce false positive. So our IT man is quite smart but yet, he claims he could not determine whether the window was open. Something is fishy here. People take drugs, painkillers, oxycodons and other recreational drugs not to mention booze. Apparently, he was hiding something which would explain his erratic behavior( putting the child on the ledge of the open window and than dropping her out of the window).
    4. Also, right after the accident was announced all over news, next we know they already have the maritime lawyer. Hmm, did they anticipated the need for him?
Over, all if the grandpa was not related to a cop, he would be arrested, thrown in jail and the blood test would be done. I feel sorry for the girl but I hope that her parents get nothing and eventually recognize that it was entirely the grandpa fault. I do not think they should profit from the poor kid's death.

This is ridiculous to blame the cruise line for the grandparents negligence. I just recently went on my first RCCL and we noticed every open window immediately. Why?   Let’s see.... the windows are tinted and there is a breeze!! It can be hot has poop outside but you still feel a breeze coming through.
The pool is a play area, not a window and not a railing. You do not ever place a child on a rail and say play. There are lounge chairs and tables.... where is it a play zone?
I feel terrible for the family and can never image the loss of a child. Put the blame where it needs to be - the grandfather not the cruise line.

Lets see how many votes for contributory negligence we can get!!!
