  1. Doesn´t affect us, we have learned how to avoid the smokers, only place we have to deal with it is if we go to the casino. Itś like we are on auto pilot going to and fro.
  2. Anthem on the way to Gibraltar, could end up in dry dock?
  3. Annual Memorial days sale, Lol They will want to have more cash coming in to replace the cash they will be sending back after the new cancellations just announced.
  4. we used the ap last fall, not bad either one works for us. I still would still like them to do an emuster, 1. have RCI employee check you in AT the muster station (ea passenger, not one person for a group) 2. Watch video in cabin or on phone, pad or computer. Though you need to find a way to verify everyone watched the video. LOL
  5. Just read Nassau airport opening 7/1, Things are moving along, just very slowly
  6. Great place, we love it there, zoo/aquarium very nice, but small. Clock tower is a great little mall, most of the vendors are very friendly and will make you a deal. Beaches are fantasti, especially horseshoe bay. Snorklel Bay is within walking distance to the ship, but very small and crowded. Gibbs lighthouse really cool, craft market at kings wharf is really fun ,National Museum is a very nice tour and really interesting history. Fantastic Island we have been there a dozen times and we always have fun.
  7. Last 2 cruises on Anthem they have had attendants most of the time at the ice cream machines. They also had gloves on. It will be very interesting to see what they will Freestyle machines,
  8. Just called the Port Authority in NY/NJ. CDC No Sail in effect till 7/24, and can be lifted at anytime, as we all seem to have figured out. Very nice woman looked at all the sailings for the Anthem listed for 2020/2021, Anthem is still listed for all it´s original sailings, no changes of ships through 2021. Though that doesn´t mean a lot, as RCCI can change anytime. The port is open now, for all cargo, No cruise ships of anything over 250 passengers. She told me they have guide lines for all persons on ships now, she thought the guide lines were very similar to what they were in 2015 , Ebola. Basiclly , health screening questions, thought they probably added temperature checks.
  9. If I remember, the Anthem still has to do its maintence this spring, It has to be dry docked for inspection 2xs every 5 yra, This is year 5 and I think it was supposed to be done April 25, don know if it can sail without the dry dock. We have a Nov 29th 8 day Perfect day cruise.
  10. I agree, it makes sense to have 1 Fla, 1 Mid-Atlantic, and Texas, to start. Baltimore vs. Bayonne, My opinion would be Bayonne has more flexibility, can handle a larger variety of ships. They do roughly the same cruise areas and I assume a higher occupancy than Baltimore.
  11. I guess you have to play it by ear, At least it was a positive article. I´m not scared to cruise, actually I am looking forward to it more than ever. I feel safer on a ship than at Disney World.
  12. I guess you have to keep checking to see price drop.
  13. Neesa great post, I learned a long time ago, if you get thrown lemons turn them into lemonade. Always try to turn the worst problem into a positive. Come out and tell people we have a problem and we are going to make you experience even better and then show them how you are going to improve their experience. Positive attitudes always help.
  14. Great ship, nice casino, not as smoky as some. Seems we do well the first night then not much luck with slots. Great food and crew.
  15. Waaaytooo, great thinking, makes a lot of sense
  16. I guess we are lucky we don´t sail till end of Nov, less stress now. At least it looks like a dim light at the end of the tunnel, not much we all can do but sit back and watch what happens.
  17. I don´t think they will have problems getting their crews back, They make a lot more working for cruise lines than they do in their home countries. Their home countries probably have terrible economies so what are they going to do.
  18. We also love Port Liberty, easy in and out. Parking really nice now, though the outside lot wasn´t that bad. Anthem is our favorite ship.
  19. We drove from south of Pittsburgh to Port Liberty the day of once, (5 1/2 hrs) never again. LOL We know people that fly in day of and get taxi, it has always worked great for them. We go over the night before, easier on us. We have friends that we see and we generally stay an extra day when we get back.
  20. It seems we always get the note re: towels, last 3 cruises . I would not mind if we had to check in at the muster station and watch the video in the cabin and sign off. At least we don´t have to stand out side, did that on the Liberty.
  21. We caught the price drop last week and saved about 200.00, they the dropped cruise price and CoCo Cay Beach Club and Voom. We have till late Aug for last payment so we will play it by ear.
  22. We hope this might be a good sign, last night we saw our first Sandals commercials. We haven´t seen a vacation ad for about 6 weeks. We live near Pittsburgh and are generally inundated with Atlantis, Sandals, RCI and NCL commercials. Hopefully this is a positive sign.
  23. We are booked on the Anthem Nov, 29, we are still planning to go, we will keep track or what is going on. If they say we are ok to sail on we go. We´re not really worried about the port or the area around it. Masks and gloves, clorox wipes, We stay overnight in Lyndhurst, we wipe down room any way, same with the cabin. I can´t believe that they will let us sail if the virus is still not under some kind of control. Just my opinion.
