  1. Sorry Matt. Didn't mean it that way! Yours are good too, but not as in death
  2. My wife and I aren't drinkers, but we used to get the soda package. I'd get a few Cokes per day but my wife would get 5 or 6 just to "get her moneys worth" We're diamond now and I'm sailing without it. The quantity per day is more than enough that purchasing the package doesn't make economic sense. However, it would be much more convenient to put a tumbler in one of the coke machines instead of going to a bar every time.
  3. What you say is true, but it is a legit test result with all of the required information. They see enough of them to know this and should behave accordingly.
  4. I was on one cruise with Danny. He was friendly and polite. However, he had special access the day before departure to film, so he wasn't filming when I saw him. I've never booked with him, but I've heard they aren't very helpful unless you're in a suite. That said, he has the best ship tours on the Internet. Beware though, he never says anything bad about a ship!
  5. I know it is expensive and limited, but Autism at Sea is probably your best option.
  6. Ukraine is a serious concern and I think you should proceed with caution. Definitely get travel insurance from someone. I use Allianz, but I've never had a claim do I don't know how good they really are. I'd also book my air through Royal's Air2sea program. If something happens, they are a great help. Further, if things do spiral out of control, royal will probably cancel your cruise and the airfare would be refunded
  7. I wasn't quite denied boarding but close. I had the official cvs covid pdf document. However, one of the Intercruise shore agents in Galveston was on power trip and wouldn't accept it. He kept saying it was a cover sheet and wouldn't even look at it. Ironically, we were able to board when I called up the cover sheet on my phone. My daughter sailed out on Sunday, and he's still at it. Word to the wise, when sailing, print everything covid related. There are some bad agents out there!
  8. I just booked a new cruise on board and got a greatly reduced deposit $200 vs $900, $250 obc and some swag. The lower deposit made it worth the risk to go non refundable, which saved about $400. However the bottom line price was the same as booking from home. Therefore, it worked out as a good deal for me, but not incredibly better. I think the original question was about repricing an existing booking while on board. Unless you want to cancel and rebook, I don't think there's any real advantage to doing it on board
  9. For my June northbound cruise on radiance, my airfare Houston to Vancouver, then anchorage to Houston was $535 per person total
  10. Another thought for you. If you have plans for the port, then lining up makes sense. If not, I find it much more relaxing and enjoyable to wait 30-60 minutes so the initial rush is over before going ashore. Generally, there's plenty of time to browse the shops and explore. Getting off with the stampede is always stressful.
  11. I did this on a cruise in January 2020. We simply told them at check in and it was not an issue. It took a while, but the port charges for the no-show were refunded to my credit card. We called Crown and Anchor a few weeks later and were awarded double points for the person that had the cabin to himself. This took a couple phone calls as it was one of those things where you had to get the right agent, but we did get the extra points.
  12. You're very welcome. I hope you have a similar experience. As ships fill up, the speed difference may become noticeable, but it hasn't been on the ships I've sailed.
  13. I don't know if there's a single correct answer for everyone. Some things to consider: How much of an issue is it to you if you get botted off the Internet and have to log in again? What speed do you need? I always assumed I needed the Surf & Stream, but recently my wife had Surf and Stream and I had Surf. We compared them side by side and we couldn't tell the difference. Facetime, YouTube, DirectTV, email and general web surfing were indistinguishable. Ever since, I've purchased the cheaper surf package and been perfectly happy. What is the price difference? Looking at the cruise planner, a 1 device surf package is $12.59 per day for one of my upcoming cruises. I purchased a 4 device package during a Black Friday sale for $23.98. For me, that was a no brainer Are you planning to get drink packages? If so, it might be cheaper to buy a drink package/Internet bundle. Are you Diamond or higher in Crown and Anchor? If so, you get at least 24 hours of Surf & Stream one device for free plus a discount off of a package purchased on board. For a short cruise, this may be a better deal.
  14. You might also check with dialysisatsea.com. They work with Royal Caribbean Group to supply dialysis on select Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity sailings. It is expensive though.
  15. The ship is very but the staterooms aren't. Try to get an accessible room. Your life will be much easier
  16. I see this article about travel insurance requirements for Belize. Does this apply to cruise ship passengers? Is this special insurance? Belize to Require Travel Insurance for Visitors Starting in February | Travel + Leisure (travelandleisure.com)
  17. I don't think this is rude at all. I usually carry off my bags with the first group, but last time we sailed, we ate a nice breakfast in the MDR and then left. You just have to be able to handle all of your luggage without assistance.
  18. I booked an April 2023 cruise last night. Here's hoping that Australia gets their act together so it can go forward.
  19. I like to sail with my adult kids. Royal offers great activities for everyone and I'm diamond now, so the perks are getting nice. We tried Carnival. Never again. Food made me sick and we were bored. If I had to pick a second choice it would be princess or celebrity
  20. I was checking prices on my upcoming sailings and noticed that the upcharge to get a refundable deposit appears to have gone up. On this example, the upcharge is over $1100! That seems like a lot of money to protect a $500 deposit! Has anyone else noticed the same thing?
  21. Celebrity offers "everything included" fares, which includes an unlimited drink package, Internet and tips. This is good 24x7. Note that the Internet was terrible on my Millennium sailing in June 2021. This was the first sailing with the free Internet, so they may have been caught by surprise. I hope they will have it fixed before my July Infinity sailing.
  22. I've done a Northbound on Radiance a long time ago and a round trip on Ruby Princess more recently. Based on this experience, there really is no substitute for going on the one way trip. The round trip has a more interesting ship, but I'm there for Alaska! You'll get more interesting ports and more time in the ports. In fact, I'm going back this summer. I'm extending the northbound cruise by staying in Seward overnight, taking the railroad to Anchorage, staying 2 nights there and then flying home. There's plenty to see. Seward is located at the Kenai Fjords National Park and has Resurrection Bay tours.
  23. Thanks for posting this. The prices are higher than I would have expected given the number of cabins they need to fill.
