  1. I was talking to my neighbors at the pool this weekend (while drinking....so keep that in mind) and they explained that they had several bookings on NCL cancelled. They said that each time theyve been canceled on, theyve gotten 125% of their fare as FCC, and just booked for the soonest date possible. They said by now theyve got nearly double of their original fare in FCC. It was my understanding that, with ROYAL, if a cruise gets canceled on you and it was paid for using FCC you just got the value of the FCC, and not 125% more. Am I mistaken? Is NCL doing something different?
  2. Heres something for ya....my wife, when she gets a Pumpkin Ale, always asks for brown sugar and cinnamon on the rim of her glass.
  3. Does anyone actually drink frozen margaritas? Im an on the rocks, slice of lime, no salt guy..... This past weekend: I dont know what youd call it...a pina colada variation, i suppose.....but Saturday by the pool i drank a good amount of coconut rum, white rum, pinapple juice, and coconut water with a lime slice, followed by a few Trulys from the wifes citrus pack. I credit the coconut water and hard seltzers with no hangover the next morning....WIN!
  4. If our March sailing on Harmony is cancelled (again), our back up plan is to go visit the mouse in Orlando (since thats obviously so much safer). We will use our TA for that, as well. I really feel for them all, and ours (Kelley Hardy with MEI) has been amazing.
  5. But....CRUISE SHIPS are the problem......... https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/airline-news/2020/07/13/delta-air-lines-passengers-test-positive-covid-19/5426856002/
  6. Id be surprised if there IS a Royal Up program, and if there is, it wont be a big savings. Probably wrong, as my wife points out, I usually am.
  7. Oh, no....I was referring to me dodging people being irrationally against cruises. I typically find I don't enjoy the company of the types of people who are anti cruising, anyway.....so it works out, just fine.
  8. Can we find humor in a serious topic? I, literally, joke about EVERYTHING. Nothing is off limits, in my family.....I cant tell you how many times ive typed replies on this board and thought......"better not...might be crossing some line." We figure, dont take anything in life so serious, because none of us get out of here alive. As for the Tropical Party.....SIGN. ME. UP. I think Jimmy Buffett is on lifetime contract to perform at the convention. Can you imagine how damn tired he must be of singing that song???? God love him....I appreciate his patience.
  9. Over the past few years, I've embraced enjoying fruity concoctions and things like Corona Refrescas and hard seltzers. My "coronavirus drink" has been Mai Tais, followed closely by Piña Coladas. Before it was all bourbon and craft brews. Don't get me wrong, I still love a good bourbon, and a good beer....but there is something about "vacation drinks" that just put me in a good frame of mind... probably the liquor.....but either way, enjoy! That sounds amazing!
  10. I have nothing to say, cruise related. Just wanted to say cheers, and hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm spending the week at the beach with the wife and kiddos...NO WORK. It's not a cruise...but things could be worse..... I hope everyone takes a moment, in the near future, to reflect on this time, and hopefully come away from it with a better perspective. Easy for me to say, I know, but all the same....hope we can all approach this crazy time with some positivity and optimism.
  11. I would have thought that means you cant give it to someone else?
  12. Wow.....so this is a good reason not to apply FCC till you have to.
  13. This all has me: So then, not at all what I thought it was. MY BAAAAD. I can see how that would be frustrating, especially at these times when cruisers like you have several cancelled sailings and too much FCC to juggle. My only wish is that I can apply cruise credits from ONE CABIN to ONE CABIN how I wish. Meaning, we got FCC independently for me, my wife, and my boys in different amounts....I wish I could distribute that how I wish within the cabin. TA seems to think if she calls enough times, she should be able to get someone on the line that will do that....but yet to be determined.
  14. Maybe I misunderstand. The way I understood it, if you have multiple FCCs they will be combined into one. So, there would be no need for multiples?
  15. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeey! @WAAAYTOOO @twangster Ask and ye shall receive..... https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2020/06/26/you-can-combine-future-cruise-credits-instead-of-separately-being-reissued
  16. Lets hear some more "bad situation, turned good" stories?!?!?!?!
  17. Seems that, in these unprecedented times, when theyre allowing many things theyve never allowed before......this would be a no brainer? Im sure there are a LOT of people that have had multiple cruises cancelled in all this. Sure, from a business standpoint, I get why you would want one FCC applied to one cruise.....it encourages multiple cruises. But, goodwill and flexibility go a long way in business, also! I know that Im making a concerted effort to remember the companies that did things they didnt have to do during this craziness.
