  1. Friday, June 10, 2020 MIAMI – July 10, 2020 – Royal Caribbean Group (NYSE: RCL) has purchased the remaining shares of Silversea Cruises, a pioneer and leader in ultra-luxury and expedition cruising. The move to full ownership comes two years after Royal Caribbean Group acquired a two-thirds share of the cruise line in July 2018. “Silversea has been a great fit for our company from the very first day,” said Richard D. Fain, Chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group. “The cultures of the two organizations have proven to be harmonious, and guests have responded favorably to the combination.” Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, who took over the company from his late father, will serve as chairman of Silversea. Roberto Martinoli will remain the brand’s president and CEO. “Manfredi and Roberto have brought a fresh point of view to our company, as well as deep knowledge of their brand’s unique audience,” Fain said. “Their skills – and Manfredi’s inimitable style – will continue to play an important role in growing Silversea into the future.” Said Lefebvre: “The combination of our companies has been everything I hoped for. The skills and resources of Royal Caribbean Group have helped us grow and flourish. We share a vision about the bright future of cruising, and I look forward to being a shareholder in the broader Royal Caribbean Group.” Added Martinoli: “Thanks to the incredible resources and skills of Royal Caribbean Group, Silversea will grow and thrive. Today marks another key step in our drive to uncontested leadership in ultra-luxury and expedition cruising.” The remaining one-third stake held by Heritage Cruise Holding Ltd. was paid for in the form of 5.2 million shares of Royal Caribbean Group common stock, which represents about 2.5% of the total common stock. Perella Weinberg Partners LP served as financial advisor and Skadden Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP served as legal advisor to the company regarding this transaction. Barclays Bank PLC served as financial advisor to Manfredi Lefebvre and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP provided legal counsel.
  2. What RC could do is just take over the route of the old Pullmantur Cruises. The cruise line made money in 2019 and they have a market for it. RC could just start a new cruise line for Spain owning it 100% with the 3 ships and the one that they were going to tranfer in 2021
  3. I would love to go on the smaller ship. Like how RC fleet is getting bigger when others are getting smaller
  4. I agree but unlike FL. The Governor in NY has no problem enforcing this. the Port auth. controls the Major Airports and they will ensure people follow the Quarantine
  5. Grandeur of the Seas ] On October 16, 2019, it was announced Grandeur of the Seas would be transferred to Pullmantur Cruises in the Spring of 2021. Wonder what is going to happen to Grandeur of the Seas now.
  6. The only thing I can say about this is.... I hope due to the age of the ship is the reason the getting rid of them.... Maybe RC will give them newer ships so they can be a stronger company after this is all over.
  7. I just wish all the post got together to make one plan
  8. Fuel cost is the Number one cost behind building the Ship. When they keep that cost down they are more able to keep the trips cheaper
  9. Can't wait to see this ship. ? It is going to Nice
  10. If u use a travel agent, They will help u with hotel section
  11. As long as these go to the CREW.... I don't care what the price is.... They work their butts off and I am willing to pay
  12. Let's make sure we are talking about Facts here: This was post on May 18. 2020 According to numbers reported by The Miami Herald, the proportion of crews actually repatriated varies by cruise line, ranging from an estimated 23% of Royal Caribbean and 37% of Carnival crew members to 76% of MSC shipboard personnel.
  13. I bet the is Muster Dill on your room TV due to the Covid 19
  14. Tropical Depression One is expected to become Tropical Storm Arthur https://twitter.com/weatherchannel/status/1261759064134029312?s=20
  15. It is NOT RC. The CDC was/is making it very hard to let the crew go home. Plus airplane are running at less then 10% international flights and many countries are banning people coming in You have to remember, RC is looking to low cost and send the Crew home is a big way to do it.
  16. With most Ships near the Bahamas and high chance of a Tropical storm, I wonder where RC is going to move all of their Ship.
  17. Just Book my cruise !!!!! 542 days to go ?
  18. Feb. 6, 2020, 4:55 PM EST By David K. Li and Krista Brunson A federal judge Wednesday refused to stop a lawsuit filed by the parents of a little girl who accidentally fell to her death off a cruise ship last year. Royal Caribbean Cruises had sought to end the federal civil action by Indiana residents Alan and Kim Wiegand, whose 18-month-old daughter, Chloe, suffered a fatal fall on July 7 from the ship Freedom of the Seas. Both the cruise line's motion to dismiss and U.S. District Judge Donald Graham's ruling were expected. Both sides still have a long way to go in exchanging evidence before any judgment can be made, according to the judge.
  19. All it takes is to be on a RC ship near a window to know that it has a green tint and wind comes thru open windows..... But with is Video it is clear as day that RC did nothing wrong.
  20. Keep in mind that Puerto Rico is apart of the US and therefore the US Supreme Court ruling are the final say. The Ship surveillance cameras are legal and can be used in Court
  21. The Grandfather is not taking responsibility for his action and is tell everyone in the world it is someone else who is to blame.....People need to ensure safety of kids and punish people who endanger them.
