  2. @cile, Calling about a Florida resident rate could prove prudent BUT I just realized your sailing includes Memorial Day so my experience with watching the prices seem to show sailings including Holidays with the least price drops. I second @WAAAYTOOO thoughts, be comfortable with whatever decision you land on.
  3. @cile My next sailing is in June, 2020. I called my TA MEI Sharla and she was able to re-price for me at a better rate. I believe it was a newly offered Florida resident rate + 300.00 OBC. No harm in calling and trying to re-price, maybe it will come down or maybe you can get some OBC, it never hurts to ask. Always work the numbers though no matter what promotion they have going, and there will be more before your sailing I am sure, but watch closely one time I almost re-booked and when all was said and done loosing the OBC and extra's I was actually going to pay more in the end; ah I'll keep my original pricing thank you! As of now I have zero plans to cancel this sailing, I am confident in my common sense practices and RCCL product. I live close so I can drive to the port, no flights either. Happy price drop hunting, enjoy your sailing :)
  4. @CaptainPanda~ when the date draws near I do a last price check also, sometimes the price will drop for who knows what reason, maybe even for a day or two so I lock it in BEFORE final payment, nothing worse then seeing a price drop after that final payment. My TA and I both check...just in case! Have a great sailing :) I never pay early for just this reason
  5. I like the RCCL business model, and do invest for long term, I'm not a trader. The balance sheet is strong, and yes I believe in the investment, don't do it for the measly OBC. I appreciate your input though, but JP Morgan analyst today Joseph Greff stated he believes RCCL was best positioned to weather this storm, thus best positioned to out perform coming out on the other side. I'm going with my gut here as even he says they don't see liquidity being a major risk. He rates the stock as overweight with a price target of $155.00 , this on Market watch today. Simply put I believe in the product and can't sail enough! Have a great one!
  6. @Meridian OR another way to be optimistic with your RCCL investment; How about this? If the stock price goes lower just purchase more shares at the lower price and greatly lower your unit cost. When the stock recovers and it will, just sell those higher shares if you care to, the whole time collecting the dividend while maintaining your ability to use the little OBC too. *Just remember you only lose money if you panic and sell, because any losses in your position are unrealized.....until you sell.
  7. Can you expand the description? On mine the next sentence after the one you quoted states enjoy your cabana with up to six of your friends. I believe then according to a good post from Matt yesterday 2 more people could be added to the 6 for an additional 50.00 per person. And snicker is correct, only place one name for booking, one name for one cabana. Otherwise you get charged for additional cabanas. I did the oasis cabana my last sailing and when I checked in they gave everyone else wrist bands.
  8. @BecomingACruiseAddict, I believe in the fine print I read the cabana came with 6 (six) water park passes. I researched to purchase for my sailing and then when I went to pay they were "sold out" Enjoy your Perfect Day!! I just checked my Cruise Planner again, yes it is six that is why I considered it. At the time the cost of the 6 passes practically cost as much as the cabana. I thought is was a great deal, and clearly so did a lot of other people!
  9. @Mayooo 877-812-3610 ? OR 866-562-7625? Can you reach them via email or social media, twitter or face book message? Maybe they can direct you to the correct #
  10. @Mayooo~ Did you try 1-800-256-6649 ?
  11. @Baked Alaska~ Like clockwork, received my price check email from MEI Sharla this afternoon about the newest promotion/sale. I love that LADY!! If I was rich I would so treat her to a cruise :)
  12. @Allen2 ~ Great, this is what I needed. My first sailing is 115 days out ?This now makes sense, my last one is more than 500 days off. I will keep note on my trusty desk calendar and submit in the window you have provided. Thanks so much!! @YOLO~ Yes, because of the pricing I was able to reach the 100 mark and feel excited about the investment. My hubby was like " are you sure people won't stop cruising?" Ah, he!! no. I honestly am so hooked (I love waking up in new and different places) that I usually turn my nose up at land travels now. I told him if the price goes down I will just purchase more and lower my unit cost. I feel that good about the product, he just threw up his hands. (But he never lets a sailing go by that he isn't on, lol)
  13. @YOLO ~ Yes, thanks so much! I completed the 3rd one down and submitted electronically BUT it was weird. Albeit I inserted all information to include my email there was nothing like "we received your submission" or an email stating something similar. I was just double checking here to see if the actions were complete. I do thank you very much for your direction, have an amazing rest of your day, Denise
  14. First time ever trying to reap the OBC (Just reached my 100 share goal) I have three sailings scheduled, 2 this year and 1 next. I submitted the information electronically but there is no indication that they received the info. Would anyone be so kind as to explain how the process works, how you are notified, if I need to do anything else? I feel like maybe the old school approach sometimes is better, but snail mail, well trying to get away from so much paper, thanks everyone!
  15. @AnnetteJackson may be able to help sort this out for you, please sometimes there is a less then great apple in the bunch! Try [email protected], I promise you she WILL.NOT.DISAPPOINT.
  16. @Cruiser nic~ I can't even imagine your frustration, it appears palatable. The planner/control aspect of my personality would feel quite similar to what you are feeling now. But probably my age (OLD) and life experience due to being (OLD) pushes me to a different place. This you can not control, hard & frustrating try to let that part go. Know in your heart RCCL takes the precautions they must for everyone's health and safety, no one the ports included want to cancel, the monies they stand to loose are astronomical, but the cost of a life, priceless. No one wants this illness to spread any more then it has and these precautions/changes are in place for the ultimate enjoyment of your sailing Holiday, sailing with 8 nearest and dearest I promise you RCCL will do their best to make sure your Holiday is the best it can be. I believe they don't answer your questions because of the fluidity of the situation, they don't know anything from day to day I'm sure. RCCL is in the vacation business and the last thing as a company they want is an unhappy or ill customer. The first step of making lemonade out of lemons is the hardest, but once over that initial hump I know you can have the absolute best time! Positive thoughts to you and yours for a great sailing :) Denise (just a customer I don't work for or represent RCCL)
  17. For our ultimate sailing enjoyment, We have 11 sailings under our belt (discovered cruising late in life, always thought the motion would be problematic) and while my entire family used to roll their eyes at me now they appreciate the following; (I think) I have a desk calendar and when the sailing gets closer at 14 days all extra activities pretty much halt. Besides work and school of course we don't go to movies, restaurants and take a 2 week break with notice from our volunteering in the Community. We are hyper aware of our surroundings and self "quarantine" each and every time to the best of our ability. We have been doing this since our first sailing in 2016 when we realized the discomfort for everyone an illness would result in, and we want to enjoy to the fullest potential what our monies have purchased. Now it is old hat and my family doesn't bat an eye, okay maybe the teen when she wants to go somewhere but too bad, so sad! We are going on an expensive cruise and you will not ruin this for me!! Hahaha, So reading this you may be like well that's a pretty good idea OR crazy lady glad I'm not her family!! Either reaction I just wanted to share something that seems to have been working for us, enjoy your day everyone, stay safe and stay well :)
  18. @Tim B., Wow, thanks so much for posting your experience. While I am feeling so sad for you right now being ill so close, I congratulate you on doing the right thing. So many sailings I dive for cover when someone near me is clearly ill and doesn't make the choice you did, that you did this is truly appreciated I know it had to be quite difficult. Another MEI success story. Hearing what you stated about @michelle is an incredible positive regarding the MEI experience. I had experience with another TA and the MEI difference is a real thing, it's great to shout this from the roof tops (at least on the blog) helping anyone who is apprehensive about using a TA the information to take the plunge, the MEI plunge that is! Have a great day and feel better quickly, your post made me smile this morning, Be Well....countdown to December.....
  19. @FroggyFlo, we were in the OS on the Harmony in November 2019. We found the refreshment package was the perfect compliment to the suite offerings as we don't imbibe that much. It was November so my "frozen drinks" were something I was not feeling either. Now for our August 2020 double dip to Coco Cay 4 Night albeit in a suite we are possibly purchasing the DBP depending on the numbers. Heat, private Island 2 of the 4 days that may be worth it. Also, reaching out to @Lovetocruise2002 if you win the bid I "think" but am not sure the concierge on board may be able to cancel your VOOM package. Have a great sailing :) Fingers crossed for you and your bid!!
  20. We had a cabana at the Oasis pool on Coco Cay. She (our server) was amazing and was constantly refilling our waters and checking on us the entire day. She was cheery and really felt like a friend. We chose to give her some cash in addition to the gratuity included for the day because she was amazing, Just like @spiralqueen stated they were assigned a block of cabanas to work with, can not say enough about the cabana service! I personally felt she was "invested" in making sure we wanted for nothing.
  21. @WAAAYTOOO Once again you have answered a question I didn't know and I neglected to ask! LOVE This! I have been watching my DBP for my 4 night on the Mariner in August 2020, now I can make an educated decision moving forward, thanks again @WAAAYTOOO, your the best! Denise (I am not totally a cheapo, but I like to believe I am not wasteful)
  22. Question located sorry!
  23. MEI travel. [email protected] saves me money on all my sailings. She watches for price drops and adjusts for me, I love her. She has never not been available and has amazing response time.
  24. @nikken79 Nice! I use Sharla at MEI, she was able to secure me a Florida resident rate just recently for this sailing, if you have not yet tried to reprice maybe take a look to see if it is still available. She literally saved me 840.00 due to this and that is how I justified the cabana, good luck!
