  3. @Shep go to www.royalcaribbean.com/booked/cruise-room-upgrade and check your emails they sometimes email you the upgrade offer as well. Royal will set the minimum bid and the cabins they are offering, then you can bid from there. Remember what you bid is X2 for the first two passengers. I take into consideration what I paid for my initial cabin and bid what I feel would be comfortable for me to pay for the upgrade. I have YET to "win" but good luck. * check the sales and prices frequently I have read here that some were able to upgrade for a good price without having to Royal UP! Beware it is very addictive
  4. @teddy I hope you have an amazing sailing. Would you be so kind as to inquire as to the cost of a shot of rum? I'm as interested as @Karen B. We almost always just get the refreshment package because we just don't drink that much alcohol, and when we did get a frozen drink on the island we just ordered it paying full price, this is a great idea! Thanks so much!
  5. I sent a request on Twitter messaging with our names and Crown and Anchor numbers. It took a few days but they responded with the amounts for each of us and the certificate numbers.

This post made me sad; I hear and feel your frustration and disappointment, I personally would not be leaving my kiddos behind that young in the kids club (my own trepidation) but mine is now a teen. As others have said these protocols have been in place forever (since sailing started again) but hearing this does nothing to help with what you are feeling. This is a HUGE disappointment but as @SpeedNoodlesnoted we do not have protocols for February yet but I feel confident in saying here I don't believe a call to the "head office" will change much as they are transparent & clear, please don't take this as a personal a front, they do this to protect themselves and limit litigation IF someone came back and tried to accuse them of something related to this mess we are going through. There are protocols I whole heartedly DO NOT AGREE WITH, period. BUT if I want to sail I know I must adhere to them. You can wait and see what the protocols bring or not, as CWC is still in effect plus I believe they are possibly doing cash refunds due to not being agreeable with the newest protocols but you have to wait for February protocols to be released for this scenario. You're family Holiday may not be exactly as you imagined but can you make it work? Maybe there is someone in the fam that would stay back with the kiddos? Maybe a land vacation is in order? I wish for you peace and a solution that works for you and yours, but if you are going to sail sadly we have to accept the cruise lines protocols no matter how we personally feel. I am sad you are heartbroken BUT when you step back and breathe take solace in the fact you have an amazing family of 20 who are here, healthy, safe and who enjoy each other so much you can commit to a vacation together, I wish for you a calming and agreeable solution to your situation.
  7. Are they aiming for maximum stress before sailing? Do they really want us to sail? I totally don't feel warm and fuzzy about sailing with them as much anymore. Jump through all these hoops and MAYBE we will let you sail, smh....

  9. I have 5 still pending, I bid on everything accept the most expensive I believe Royal Loft, it was 3,000 minimum & I can't swing it. It seems currently booked anyways so I felt no "pull" to submit at that price point. My friend is on facebook for this sailing and she told me others on this sailing are already being notified of winning bids. I believe they probably hold out until the very last minute for the few Star class options in order to sell them at their premium price if at all possible. I do believe while not preferable you could find out as soon as the evening before, maybe even at the port say if a last minute funky test gets in the way, but otherwise CWC is a 48 hour thing so I would start really expecting a notification at the earliest Wednesday or Thursday night, the 17th or 18th. I preface this by saying I am just thinking this through, I really have no idea either. I am actually surprised I have yet to receive any "expired" notifications yet, but also have my expectations in check...okay not really. Keep us posted, I will do the same. If I am not mistaken we are both in CLS which is a nice place to be BUT I would like to see STARS!!
  10. Hahaha, I love this statement because it's so true. My husband states every. single. time. I speak about or check my Royal Up bids.....YOU ARE NOT WINNING ANYTHING! He is such a funny guy, I know he is secretly in the background willing the cabash on my bids, but my will is stronger, I will WIN one day!!
  11. 1.4 million dollar loss reported today, no way they implement this in time for the Holidays.. I believe this loss is larger then they thought they would sustain and this is the main reason the CWC was extended as well as the other extensions. That being as it may I am sailing on Thanksgiving and have no worries about any unvaccinated kiddos. I personally am looking forward to the anticipated joy this week will bring. I respect everyone's choice to do what they will for their family and I for one will not be afraid or treat them any differently, I sure didn't like it when my child was treated like a leper in June on our Adventure sailing while wearing her band of the unvaxed. Family Holiday here we come.
  12. I don't believe they would hold back for Royal Up, they can make so much more selling them at full price. I believe they offer even sold out cabins just in case the cabin becomes available (especially with cwc) At the end of the day every sailing makes $$ and RU helps add to the pot. If they RU a line of cabins its even more $$. I would think maybe this practice yields to a more euphoric passenger maybe so happy willing to spend even more $$ once on board. Just my 2 cents. Oh, I haven't checked my bids yet this afternoon. 24 days to go I need to STOP NOW!! Oh, I will totally be a euphoric winner, please? Oh, and maybe the person in the cabin offered will RU thus making it available for us to bid on.
  13. I am anxiously anticipating 2023 sailing offerings. While on board in November I plan on visiting the Next Cruise desk to at minimum purchase a Future Cruise certificate to avail myself the benefits tethered to it and then transfer to my TA when finalized. Can someone who is familiar with this educate me as to the cost of this? Three people 7 nights or more sailing. I'm hoping I have a preview of the offerings to actually place deposits on new sailings but if not I want to try this. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks so much!

  15. @Fred567 I have not experienced myself yet but I am hearing ( the snow birds are here) the TSA lines are taking a bit longer also, staffing issues, lots of people travelling again forgetting about 3-1-1 and taking off shoes etc. The long snaking line to get over to your gate might just crush that cruise vacation after feeling, to many things you just can't control. I personally would not feel comfy with such an early flight. book a bit later & have a leisurely go of it. What ever you decide I wish for you safe travels, enjoy that cruise!
  16. I really hope so! @Sharla was able to secure a 2 bedroom Grand Suite for Thanksgiving 2022 on the Odyssey & still under that expired double points promotion. I really want to keep that and book the Wonder for Christmas, I thought about a swop Wonder for Thanksgiving 2022 but that change really doesn't work for me, I love my cabin, it was priced okay (not like this WOW promotion as in WOW these prices are sky high,) and the double points are also pretty nice. Please Wonder stay PUT!!

  18. I only use that meter to confirm what the lowest starting bid is, I then bid what I am comfortable with doing my own math. How much is the cabin I would LOVE to have, how much did I pay already for the cabin I LOVE now, and I do the math and bid what I am comfortable with knowing that amount will be charged to my card & I pay in full so there's that....the heaviest of the considerations. I honestly NEVER look to that meter again. Now I have NEVER won a bid so probably not the best advice, but knowing so many other things go into awarding these upgrades I have the ability to feel comfortable with zero regard for the "weak" bid.
  19. @infosec123 we are platinum on Disney and feared nothing would compare, wow were we wrong. I was hot to book the new Disney Wish but after sailing Royal we are hard pressed to return to DCL. Value for money as well as an amazing product, we are loyal to royal until we sail all the Quantum and Oasis ships at least; was really happy with the switch. You will really love it!
  20. Mine were also sent in a PDF without logging into my account & yes they are still blank. I was just excited to print my luggage tags because I enjoy ANYTHING having to do with a sailing. Blank on my account and the PDF come on Royal IT get with it!

  22. I am anticipating the protocols for November 2021 for our Thanksgiving 2021 sailing. I will and am able to comply with what is in place now, but my fingers are crossed for just a little less every month. My eDocs are all blank, @Sharla is looking into it but I am just a little concerned. Anyone else or is it just me? I did land a really great price back when we booked.
