  1. Not exciting but they do their own laundry. I brought laundry detergent, Downy softener and bounce sheets. I asked our concierge and that was the ask. I purchased fragrance free in case the fragrance was problematic. My Concierge was so happy, he tried to pay me, ah no a little gift for now....I brought it early in the lounge and put it under his desk with a note. Made my day!
  2. Lately the Royal Up bids now say submitted. If yours says pending and you took the advice of @PPPJJ-GCVABas well and it is still locked it seems they may have you locked in for the upgrade. I hope that is happy news for you. Enjoy your sailing. I'm at 26 bids now with zero "wins" ( ability to pay more ) but less then it cost to out right book. In one case I accidently slid the slider up to max bid, the one and only time I was ecstatic I didn't "win" Good Luck with the outcome, I hope it brings you joy.
  3. @Shadyrollz Dear Veteran, thank you so much for serving I feel heartfelt appreciation for our vets We are a fan site with much cruising experience some here are BETTER than RC customer service. I know I book specific cabins for my personal needs and I as well don't sail if my cabin isn't what I need for my sailing. That being said what are your criteria without getting to personal. Does it have to be in a certain area of the ship, mid ship, aft or forward for instance? On a certain deck due to the perceived confinement of some cabins? Do you prefer an accessible due to certain abilities? Please minimally we need to know what would make this work for you. Also, what ship or ship class do you prefer? What itinerary? What ports? How many days? Sailings are not sold out until 2024 albeit the original ship may be booked at capacity; so just give us something more to work with and we will help you get there. We will help you, it's just your original post had so much frustration, I get it. If you give us more we will do our best to help you experience a most comfortable sailing. Standing by, sir please come back and provide more details. I'm sure the cabin booked was wrong due to a perception error, I'm confident enough a Royal rep wouldn't book you in something you didn't want. Let's do this together.
  4. Can you make your own resort for a day? Look at the resorts on the beach in the Port Canaveral area. Find one that appeals and book the cheapest room. Uber/taxi over and check in. Make use of all the amenities using the convenience of your room to store personal items etc. The hotel MAY even offer a shuttle back or just taxi back. An enjoyable day with minimal transportation time. NASA is always a great day too. Enjoy the sailing!
  5. @Sea Squirrel you are correct we are in a CLS Sky Class but our concierge email was the weirdest one I have ever received. "Please make sure to make all dining & excursion reservations before stepping on the ship & then make show reservations through the app once onboard and connected to the ships wi-fi" I linked our reservations and sent a response email asking to please make us *CK reservations, show reservations & please let Jaimes know we are requesting to enjoy dinner with our friends at a shared table. Crickets so far...but I know they are helping guests onboard now so. Also why is the sharing of a cabana so difficult? The IT stinks, all they have to do is have an area where you could place the names or cabin numbers of those sharing the cabana, I go on vacation to relax, not be activities director. I know they tether the cabana to our sea pass cards, I wish they would just give us 6 wristbands, I can hand them to our friends and then everyone can come and go as they please. I just think things are getting more complicated then they need to be lately. I'm unfamiliar with the concierge here, I miss Dudley!!! * CK for just the 3 of us our friends are in a balcony.
  6. We made a reservation for the 3 of us for dinner and our friends also made their reservations for 3. We made them the same time and date and have linked our cruising reservations. How do I make sure the restaurant is aware we wish to dine together, a 6 top so to speak. I know the ship is at capacity and I'm not sure how to communicate this. Thanks everyone.
  7. @Swar @Pattycruise Sounds great, would one of you be so kind as to provide a photo? It sounds like something I would totally purchase. Thanks so much
  8. I keep a clean cabin as well, I even empty the garbage if it would be an overflow type situation. Making the bed as well as I can't leave my bed like that (my mom instilled this as well) Once a day would be absolutely fine BUT give us more then 3 towels. I like to keep my towel animals all lined up like a little zoo, and as referenced by my Little Slice of Mariner Blog don't want to destroy them in order to dry my hair or myself after a shower. We visited family 2 weeks ago in the Pocono Mountains, at check in I confirmed with the front desk we are here for 4 nights, please service the room. They did and it was a lovely stay, so many times now (still at the hair salon) it's COVID protocols stated for much less service yet at an inflated price due to.....you guessed it, COVID protocols. I have opted previously to only have our cabin attended to once a day & it was fine, I told them up front I need extra towels & all was well. I think our attendant appreciated the rest even if for a few minutes. Added C & A points would be a nice bonus.
  9. @Newerrcclcruiser22in the folder left for you in the CLS are there still order forms for Evian water ? Is Columbus the play offered? Thanks so much!
  10. @Fairlynew can you just pop down for dessert? I don't have the UDP. I may ask nicely when I receive the concierge email if I can get it for dessert for our 30th anniversary dinner in CK. I'm not holding my breath but maybe someone will feel kind. I'm going on this final sailing for a while with limited expectations. Thanks for the great idea.
  11. BIG ONE just happened to me. I went in to adjust my bid, I bid 1,600 and wanted to bring it lower, the minimum was 800.00 I believe. I went to the slider and it wouldn't go down, the minimum had risen to 1820 starting bid. I tried to just adjust to my previous 1600 and it wouldn't take it so I just felt I was SOL and closed out the window. Something nagged so I went back in and looked I inadvertently sent the slider to the top 4400 for the bid, omg so glad I caught it I canceled immediately thanking my lucky stars it wasn't accepted!! It would have been an ugly win for sure. So I only have a minimum remaining bid in for an aquasuite a cabin I have never experienced and am forgetting about it, I'm already in a CLS. But be careful, that bid X 2 would have put me in the dog house for sure. My credit card was already there because it was a modification. Phew, first time I'm happy I didn't "win" a RUB. Be methodical and careful before you submit. Good Luck everyone and have fun!! SLIDER DANGER!
  12. We were there this past June, that was the price of the cabanas. They were sold out, but I must say there were a lot more than 8 people each in those things. I remember floating in the water thinking if I paid that much money I may have not enjoyed that fact, people everywhere and they were blasting music, so if you like the genre you are good, if not ugh....miserable. BUT it was a very hot summer day and the day was beautiful. I am sure some purchased for less depending on their timing but they were not sold out and then they were....at that price. IF you really want it I would get it and then watch for price drops, fingers crossed they occur. PS I liked the genre so I was floating in the area loving life!
  13. @Ryan79 oh wow, thank you so much! Yes. 2 ships and we are the second ship in right now. I appreciate the great info. At least I know how to proceed.
  14. @Newerrcclcruiser22 I have Wonderland booked, & honestly I'm showing this to my family I think it's a pass for us THANK YOU! Hubby especially, not fancy just meat and potatoes kinda guy. Hates sauces, fried stuff you saved me from saying sorry all evening. Also, are they showing Columbus on the stage yet? The past planners show Grease but no Columbus. Thanks so much!
  15. Most likely just a terminology change to be more exact. Seems now if it said pending that would mean you won the ability to pay for the upgrade. Right now they have the bid that you submitted. I think they are just attempting to be clearer in the wording.
  16. We are splitting the cost of the water park cabana with another family. I paid for it, they will reimburse me for their half then. I know I like a certain location in the park and we are in a CLS are the cabanas numbered? I would like to ask the concierge for a specific area. Also and more importantly I linked our reservations and will give the info to the concierge but how will they be admitted to the park, we may be arriving separately. How can I link the cabana to their sea pass cards? We may be on top of a water slide when they arrive, I want them to be able to enter the Waterpark on their own. Thanks for the info!
  17. Same for me. Just checked after reading this thread. Harmony 31 July sailing. I think it's a terminology change because the word pending implied you could have "won" the ability to pay more. Submitted is more exact.
  18. @Carotthat I checked the Marriott at the Newark Airport and they dont have day passes that I could find. I personally would book the cheapest room available and leisurely check in early. They will at least secure your luggage for you. Maybe Uber to the Statue of Liberty for some morning hours and then return to hotel for a nap and refreshing shower and some food before your late flight. Tell them your staying for the kids, maybe they give you the room super early. If so just chill there. Tell them you aren't even staying the night. You can walk or take the hotels shuttle to your terminal. Good Luck!
  19. Yay! Following along. Looking forward to your experiences! Enjoy & have an amazing sailing.
  20. @Carotthat Yes, for example the Marriott Hyatt on site at the Orlando Airport offers a day pass. You can enjoy a secure place for your belongings, their pool, gym and restaurants basically the amenities of the hotel without staying the night. Where are you flying home from? Look around the area or on airport property for something of that nature. Happy Sailing!
  21. I have the bands from the Harmony in 2019 when I sailed. Would you be able to get them synced for use with your sailing? For use on the Harmony in 2022
  22. This is exactly my assertion. I agree with it 100% especially the airline scenario. The second disgusting thought I didn't love & I would assign a disgusting response if there was one. There is NO excuse for the failure pertaining to human fluids. It just seems everywhere I go prices are up and quality is down. Star is about the experience & while I loved it and MAY book it again waaay in the future Sky is still my happy place, but taking a break from Royal right now sadly makes me happier. Just want to give her a minute to figure things out instead of me feeling my experience is meh for the $$. I am a glass half full person in life, but I can also see a diluted experience/product that should not be. I know this is a fan site so I'm sorry ahead of time if I offend with this post.
  23. @Melissa Amaral Just our experience, on one of our last sailings we purchased the water park admission for the teens. There were 2 ships there, the lines were so long like as in over an hour long. They went on 2 yes two waterslides and when waiting for the 3rd it was shut down due to lightening in the area. They left and returned to us, what a waste of $$. As soon as you board hit the excursions desk there may be cancelations for whatever reasons. If still not successful, have an early breakfast or skip it like we do, exit the ship as soon as you are given the okay. Secure a great spot at the Oasis Pool or beach for a home base. You can make it an amazing day without the waterpark in my humble opinion if you have to. When you see the lines and the amount of people you may just be happy exploring the Island and moving around from pool to beaches. With 2 ships in we highly recommend Coco Beach Club if it's available. Have an amazing sailing.
  24. Departing was smooth but early. We were given a time of 0800 to be out of our cabin via a stateroom letter, stating extra cleaning for next guest. Our concierge advised suite guests to meet at Schooner bar and he walked everyone off in a group, this was completed swifty and smoothly. You may be able to linger on the ship a bit longer enjoying breakfast and then leaving on your own but they want everyone off so they can clear the ship to start boarding the next group. Check for day passes to enjoy close by if your flight is a late one.
  25. I can't find my map of Coco cay anywhere. What are the names of the two beaches the Beach Club is located between? I thank you in advance!
