  1. Oh I'm sorry, I meant maybe they would feel more comfortable with a homemade by you step by step guide, this is how I did it my first time. Even though I was showed how to do it I was so excited I forgot everything, I looked at my own pre prepared directions and got it done in the terminal. Lol! I'm sure I was a site! Teenager couldn't run away fast enough. Now she just does it for me.
  2. See I'm tech challenged myself but maybe one can have directions and the other can do it. Click here, then here, then go to show times etc. But I agree, they can get someone to help, but I understand feeling like your in control of your experience as well.
  3. Go to the Cruise Compass link above. I sent in my 8 night cruise Compass and it's posted there from my Allure sailing. It will give you an idea of what to expect. Things change of course but I think it's a great starting point. Good Luck, I still have my teen help me with the app. I dislike the angst it causes having to make reservations for the shows even though I understand it. They will have a great time.
  4. Great advice, thank you so much! I will try that!
  5. Yes the fruity frozen drinks are covered. Our last sailing I used my vouchers for my husband everyday. We were in a suite so I had water and soda and a glass of wine with dinner (maybe) I challenge myself to debark with normal ankles each sailing. If something is high in sodium (almost everything, but I'm talking to you onion soup) I just drink water. I was always allowed to use my vouchers for him, it was easy to do. The drinks were crazy watered down....but that's another topic. Just order and ask for them to use your voucher and hand over your sea pass card, no one blinked an eye. Very easy, I love the vouchers!
  6. I would research RIU Family Aruba Resortforaday.com but maybe they sell the passes without going through "resorts" Just hop in the cab and they bring you to the front steps. We have returned 2X now, the taxi brings you there and it's all inclusive, really decent food & drinks par for something like this. The beach had loungers and little hut type umbrellas things and the pool was amazing. The music and staff were very engaging. I believe the towels were also included, lounge chairs all around the massive pool. It's located on a "boardwalk" type situation so you can walk to other resorts on that beach. You have a wristband and a security person is perched at the entrance between the beach and pool to keep out those who are not paying guests. Very soon we will try the adult side as well, just an enjoyable day. When you wish return to the hotel front desk and they will call you a cab to go back to the ship. Most important I believe it's on Palm Beach
  7. My vote is for Coco Beach Club especially if there are two ships in. You can always venture out to check out the rest of the Island but I think you would wish to wow him celebrating your 10 year milestone. The ambiance hits different then the rest of the Island. Loved everything about the Coco Beach Club experience, the elevated lunch was really special, the plush towels & the service was top notch. Yes, the Club!
  8. @smokeybandit reminded me DUDLEY our concierge on the MARINER he was the definition of above & beyond. I wrote to corporate and recommended him for the Genie program. His demeanor and work ethic all coolness under pressure, just an amazing young man.
  9. On the Harmony in August debarkation day CK was packed and breakfast coming out delayed. By the time we finished the concierges were done with their 3rd and final escort downstairs. I asked if there were any more and was told no, they were done. No worries, we gathered our things and made our way to wait for elevator. The concierges came out and said they would make an exception and do one more! We were wisked off in lightening speed. Very very kind, in no way did they have to do that.
  10. Did you get your documents previously? On the last page of the cruise documents packet there is a luggage tag for your cabin ready to print.
  11. When we were on the Mariner this June most times the suite (concierge lounge) was standing room only. It was so crowded with the CAS Pinnacles and D+ in addition to the suites that we found ourselves spending our time in the beautiful Diamond lounge. It was lovely, even when the food was offered we had the space to ourselves. We enjoyed it much more. It's a weird thing, the rooms were mirror images of each other yet the D+ and Pins preferred the suite side. Both spaces were gorgeous. Now, the Diamond Lounge on the Oasis class ships we stay away from, downright depressing. Except for the Allure I think.
  12. You want to be happy with your location so my opinion is first research the cabin numbers and see if there are any video tours, pay attention to the balcony footage for sure. If it was me I would choose 9 aft first as I enjoy my balcony and being a bit higher out there just makes it more special, you have cabins it looks like above and below should be on the quieter side. Second choice would be 6 over 7 if there is no obstruction to the ocean view because 7 has a lot of cabins up there and sometimes the noise bleeds into your cabin especially late at night (From excessive foot traffic in the hallway) Not always but still, so for me 9 aft, 6 forward and lastly 7 forward. * on the Oasis I highly recommend a crown loft, Deck 17 though...just wow!
  13. It's at 26.99 for lunch on the Serenade & that never changed even with the Labor Day 30% off "sale"
  14. If you really want to see it bring your own device and stream it. We were looking forward to an F1 race on our Allure sailing in May, ESPN2 even advertised it was showing. We set up our CLS for the race with snacks & such and settled in ready for a fun race while at sea. Well no, they showed tennis I think. We left the cabin and traveled around the ship to see if it was being shown else where and it was not. I would plan for it not to be shown and come prepared, if it is then it's an added bonus. It was a different ESPN2 feed then ours back in Florida, have a great sailing!
  15. Congratulations on your amazing milestone, please ask away no question is dumb. Knowing ahead of time will make your sailing that much more enjoyable. I was new to RC in 2019 and after 9 sailings I still have questions! If you are comfortable sharing what ship you are sailing we can provide so many tips and tricks, things you didn't know you didn't know. So many times this happens to me, this cruise is to celebrate and to relax, this kind group will provide everything you need & sometimes even pics! Ask away and welcome
  16. I'm anxiously waiting Summer 2024! When I inquired at Next Cruise last month on the Harmony the young lady said December this year. Here's hoping....
  17. Clearly the older ships are lacking in electrical plugs as well as USB charging situations. Would someone here graciously share what they use for the European outlets to maximize charging things up within the cabin? Is it two straight prongs, is it two straight and one flat? I researched but there are so many options, all types of plugs with different versions. I want to avoid boarding and finding out the power hub I purchased was wrong and does not work. Can someone point me to a specific item that would work? Thanks so much! (I watched Danny's video about the Serenade & while I know he's 6'6" and his daughter likes to take a bath in the various tubs & I don't believe for one second he fits in that shower pod comfortably; I digress..... but he does he mention the outlets shortage in the cabins) LOL I think I like the new music he uses now though.
  18. @brdjnr don't forget your SAILAGAIN promotion if you stepped off your last sailing sooner then 30 days ago. I'm looking at 300.00 OBC if I book my suite on the Serenade, I stepped off the Harmony 07 August 2022!
  19. On the Allure 2022 May in #CK they offered a choice the sauced lobster they served or the MDR lobster. My daughter was brought two and my husband four! Then they offered additional as well, the kind offer was declined as it was plenty. 2022 July on the Harmony in #CK we requested/placed our order for the MDR lobster for the following night (lobster night) , we requested with our #CK server that we would prefer and be ordering the MDR lobster as we were always told it helps for the kitchen to know ahead of time, we were emphatically told no. If we wanted it they would cancel our #CK reservations and we could have it in the MDR. Take away, every ship is different and not consistent in their services/rules/protocols. We stayed in #CK because we loved the views in that venue.
  20. @twangster I loved watching your you tube videos on this ship. I expect I might really appreciate this smaller yet regal ship. Now leaning hard to sail for once out of Tampa but now I want to be up on deck to personally experience sailing underneath the Skyway Bridge. The sailing we are zeroing in on specifically is 19 November 2022. If I have the first seating in the MDR will we miss it? I thought about Izumi but the rest of my crew is not on the Izumi team. Maybe just skip MDR and #WJ the first evening? Even if we elected my time dining I wouldn't know what time to choose. Your help is very appreciated.
  21. Well while I am still in the mindset of taking a break from sailing for a minute, I still can't sit still. Our next door neighbors are trying to talk us into a sailing out of Tampa on this ship. (Serenade) My plan was to watch them sail away & run down to the Skyway Bridge to snap some amazing photos...but this is November so it might be quite dark by the time she sails under the bridge. Anyway, if I decide to possibly waitlist a Grand Suite cabin and then maybe sail her where in the world do you have lunch? We gravitated to #CK or the Solarium on other ships as the Wind Jammer is quite hectic day one. Do they have a venue for the suite guests for embarkation lunch? Could we just get onboard and then utilize one of our Diamond Plus Buy 1 Get 1 specialty dining vouchers for lunch at Chop's? Trying to understand all of the moving parts here as I am so spoiled always sailing the bigger ships, but would like to experience this smaller vessel possibly. I did go ahead & book a B2B on another line on their new ship but that's not until next year, thinking of trying out our newly minted Diamond Plus amenities before then, thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks so much everyone for any and all insight you can provide.
  22. For those who have sailed out of Tampa (we have yet to do it) we are trying to time a ship sighting from Fort Desoto Park. What time or how long after departing the Port of Tampa does the ship sail under this gorgeous bridge? I think it would make for an amazing photo! Can anyone who has sailed from here share? Thanks so much!
