Matt mentioned as one of his 'hacks' on the youtube live last night, that you could have Sorrentos make your own special pizza, exactly how you like it. So, do they then give you the whole pizza... like the pan to take to a table... or do you just get a piece or two of it... do they have pizza boxes, so you can take it with you?

Not sure if anyone is still interested (I just joined these forums today), here is what I found from a very recent cruise of Harmony. Please note they can change at any time:
Day 1: Grill
Day 2: Crepes
Day 3: Indian
Day 4: Caribbean
Day 5: Mexican
Day 6: Mixed Grill/Crepes
Day 7: Mongolian
Hope this helps. Cheers!
so they DO have nightly themes in the WJ... cool! Our Harmony cruise is over Cinco de Mayo (we are not going to be in Mexico, however), and i have been wondering if they will have any special mexican food / events to celebrate this fun holiday on that day...... either i the MDR/ WJ or otherwise....

I was thinking about booking a dinner reservation there for us, as it seemed like it was a greek themed restaurant at night , on the few menus I saw... is this the case, or is it just a 'healthy' menu, and could be anything, not necessarily greek. I am on the fence about booking to have dinner there only because my adult son, whom I am traveling with, is a big manly eater, and might not care for it if its all 'too light' of fare....

@Skid i will definitely get trip insurance... i have it for the cruise portion already! Having elderly parents, I would not feel comfortable any other way!

@AshleyDillo thanks so much! I just might do that, if i can figure out the PM system on here, lol. We are going the beginning of May, 2020. I still haven't decided yet regarding the Orlando vs Cocoa Beach (or Melbourne vs Orlando airport) but all of the advice and opinions definitely helps in remembering the important issues to consider for sure! We are pretty low key... it will be me and my 23 yr old son. I am all about the beach..... any beach, anywhere.... he is not as much of a beach freak, but loves the historical stuff and the NASA sort of thing. Of course we both are foodies though and love cool food things. I think right now, the toughest thing is that we really can't make a final decision on the flight part until waaay closer (probably after the first of the year)... I do not like to do any travel plans that are 'no cancellations' and right now, all of the airfare that is a reasonable price for me (the 275 to 350 each RT range, are only offered as ' no cancellations'. When I check the box for 'only flights that allow cancellations', the price shoots up to like 900. per person! I am guessing that is because it is so far out in the future.

@mbk999 these are some interesting ideas to definitely think about! I have been wanting to go back to Texas de Brazil really badly, ever since i was there a few years ago... I know that is just a restaurant...but THE best brazilian steakhouse I have ever been to! I will spend the weekend, looking at all of the options in Orlando... I don't know about everyone else here, but i am kind of addicted to the trip planning part... it is as fun to me as the trip itself! lol Thank you everyone!!

I had kind of settled on flying into Melbourne, but then I saw several youtube 'tips' videos, who said that it is better to fly to Orlando Int. than Melbourne, because of traffic. We have established now, , that we are going to arrive 2 or 3 days early to enjoy the area (go to the Space Center again...a day at the beach, etc...) and (thanks to the great advice found here), we are going to rent a car at the airport to drop off later near the port. So what do you guys advise as far as 'which is the preferred airport to fly into'....?

oh wow, that is smart... i might just do that too! Would make life sooo much easier... THANK YOUU!!

You ALL are SO AWESOME! I am so, glad that I found you guys!

One rental car tip: prices change a lot and I'd re-price it all the way up to, and including, the day you need it. It's crazy how much prices drop on car rentals in those last few days.
Will do for sure !! thanks!!

this is a really awesome idea! I have looked at the rental car idea a little bit, but had not figured out where the drop offs would be ...so THANK YOU for that info...is GOLDEN!! I will definitely look at doing this... would sure make the Kennedy Center trip especially , a lot easier! You ROCK!

@cklane oh good, that is great to hear! thank you! It's always a little scary to land in another city and have to depend on others to get around...is always great to have a solid plan with someone dependable!

Has anyone out there used the Cocoa Beach Shuttle service? We are flying into Cocoa Beach 3 nights early, via Melbourne airport, and staying on Cocoa Beach before cruising on Harmony. This shuttle seems like it would be great for us, as it will pick you up at the airport...take you to the cocoa beach hotels or to the Cruise terminal...and back to the airport . From what i can tell it is 58. for 2 people to ride between airport and terminal..... and 6 each to go from the hotels over to the terminal... which seems great to me... Just wanted to see if anyone out there could vouch for them...? Thanks!

Me too! Love Texas de Brazil. We've been to a few as well and that is my favourite! I love their Couscous from their salad bar.
for me it was this bisque on the buffet area... i think it was a crab bisque... or may have been lobster... its been a while...but OMG, i could have spent the entire night just eating that soup and nothing else!! lol SO GOOD!

@joshvc i know this is an old post but stumbled upon it... and have to shout out to my favorite restaurant I ate at in Orlando ...was the Texas de Brazil.... was the first time any of my family had ever been to that type of place and it was so good... that was like in 2012 or so... and we have been to many Brazilian steakhouses since, but that one is still my favorite!

It's so funny that I just read your post, as I just called (again) to change my room number and one of my top priorities is to be CLOSE to the elevator! I was thrilled to find a room that was both near the elevator, on the port side and on the same floor as at least part of the solarium.... I am sure that the Customer Service folks at RC are thrilled that I have found the perfect room too, and will quit calling them every night...

Sheri actually was a guest two episodes back on Matt's podcast, covering cruise supplies you can get at your local dollar store.
ohh i remember listening to that episode, I just don't think i realized that it was the same person.. I watch her videos all of the time but didn't know what her name was at first... just knew her as the pretty blonde lady ... lol

I was watching an episode of CruiseTipsTV last night (an old one from 2018) and thought it was so cool that she sung the praises of Matt and RoyalCaribbeanBlog.com on her channel... I have watched several of her episodes before too and didn't realize that the two were friends and supporters of each other's channels! So cool!

@USCG Teacher here is a link to the pair that I bought... hopefully this link thing works~ lol
once you click on it, if you scroll down to the bottom, their are other models.... and note, it doesnt 'say' memory foam on there but it sure feels like there is, and i am pretty sure there is... lol
-
@JLMoran , thanks!.... that is another great idea! I personally think that everyone should go for comfort always, especially on vacation! I am excited all to pieces, that Sketchers now makes these shoes that look like strappy dress shoes for ladies... but have memory foam and treads on the bottom like their athletic shoes... I got a pair to wear with my dresses on board, and they go perfectly...even with the more cocktail-y formal night wear~
-
@YOLO Thank you so much for taking the time to go through this list, this DOES help me a lot! I have bought some things, but , what i have bought already still works with your list, and the list will help me put the rest of it together! So far I have got him 2 swimtrunks and a white rashguard swim shirt, 3 polo shirts, 2 cargo shorts, 2 Docker's khaki pants (one navy and one true khaki color), 2 button up camp shirts , some dark brown leather shoes that can work for daytime ' or night time, and some light tan and black canvas Nike tennis shoes and a pr.of Nike pool slides. ( i might pick him up some black pants too..he does have a pair of black dress shoes he could bring ). I figure Ill also buy him some new casual T-shirts too Thanks for reminding me about the black socks, i can see us forgetting those and him having to wear white gym socks with his black shoes and pants hehe

Once in a while you'd be allowed to wear jeans to work on Friday, but were required to donate $5 to a local charity, collected at the office lobby as you walked in.
YES!! lol We went through that 'pay to dress down' thing too for a few years, then the dress code just got so lax that there was no point anymore.
-
Thank you all so much for all of the advice and thoughts...I think I got it now, as far as what he should bring. @ChessE4 ... as far as him deciding.. he will be clueless . lol He just graduated college in may and is still at his summer job right now trying to decide if he should look for a job or go to grad school.... or both... He tends to not be a very dressy sort of person, mostly jeans and tee shirts in his regular life and works for the parks dept so wears a uniform to work. He is just now trying to 'find' a style as an adult I think....honestly... and so you guys are a great help to us both! lol I am sure he will be thrilled to hear that a tie isn't necessary. @JLMoran ... well, the first cruise I am taking is an 8 night holiday cruise, but he will not be going on that one, he is going on the second one, which is just a 7 day Eastern Carib... so i guess 2 formal nights and we have established now that we are going to eat at Chops on night two, so really only one formal night. Also, just in response to your comments about work wear... it is interesting... I have been with my company for 12 years and the first 8 years or so, we had a strict dress code. I had a full wardrobe of work clothes for that. Then, we had an administration change, and more of a focus on 'health and wellness' and so they changed to a pretty business casual dress code with jeans and tennis shoes on friday. Two years ago, I was sent home to work and so now I wear shorts and a tank top ( or PJ's ) to work ...and no shoes... is funny how things have changed....
Sorrentos whole pies....
