Momof4crazytocruise got a reaction from WAAAYTOOO in Looks like corkage fees may be enforced
I get around this by bringing my own opener, pouring a glass in the room and walking with that glass and the bottle to the dining room. Have never had a problem but I supposed they could try to charge me. If they do, I won't get worked up about it.

Shoot as long as there wasn’t a rat in me drink , I’d have not thought twice. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Rub some dirt on it.

If this is actually true, and you felt you didn't get the response you wanted on board, you should have addressed it on board.

Momof4crazytocruise reacted to WAAAYTOOO in My Time Dining; ughhh
My recommendation is to forget about reservations and just show up whenever you think it’s time to eat. That’s the whole purpose of MTD…to be able to eat whenever you want (within their prescribed hours, of course). My recent experience is that there is little to no wait…which hasn’t always been the case. Lately, they have begun seating the MTD folks in with the traditional dining times and it is working great…at least, in my experience. Also, if you still prefer to have reservations, stop by the main dining room on boarding day and see what they can do for you. They are very good at accommodating requests after boarding.

Momof4crazytocruise reacted to Ryan79 in Suite debate
RCL sure costs a WHOLE lot less than Disney while Disney has a WHOLE lot more kids running around the ship. That’s enough for me! RC has a lot of kids, but with Disney almost every single cabin has kids…no thanks. I’ll certainly call those two huge advantages. I’ll do 3 weeks in a RC suite over just 1 week on a Disney cruise, for the same price, any day! 😂🤣

Momof4crazytocruise reacted to Ryan79 in Covers for opened cans/bottles?
This makes perfect sense since the entire purpose of that policy was to attempt to crack down on misuse of the drink package. If you want to buy 6 beers at a time and pay for them out of pocket, I doubt RC cares who (legally) drinks them.

I purchase these for truly cans. It says "standard cans" but I received them and they ARE truly type cans.

Momof4crazytocruise reacted to Matt in Walkie Talkie
I re-read the posts, and I really don't think there was any malice with the comments. People were just trying to explain why walkie talkies are annoying to others.

Yes they are allowed onboard, but you should be aware there are 3 reasons walkie talkies are a bad idea.
1. They are annoying to other passengers
2. They don't work well because of the ship's metal structure
3. The Royal Caribbean chat app is free to use

Momof4crazytocruise reacted to Southern Waters in Honduras Travel Advisory - Buyer Beware
When we were there a few years ago, our private guide told us that although Spanish is the primary language of Honduras, English is Roatan's primary language. She spoke excellent English with hardly an accent.

I have 2 open cruises with Michelle and haven't gotten an email either - congratulations on retirement. She will be missed!

Momof4crazytocruise got a reaction from Weezie57 in Drinking on embarkation day while in port in Galveston
You hardly notice. Once you pass into international waters (about 1-2 hours after leaving port) they swap in all the other bottles and it's open season. They will offer a limited menu of cocktails and beers/wines until that point, but honestly, it really isn't a big deal. I much prefer that to Carnival, who lie to you say and say they 'can't' serve on a drink package until the next day. My theory is that Carnival makes a TON of money on that first day when every one is riding the vacay-adrenaline and drinking to celebrate, so they maximize charging by the drink on night one.

I haven’t gotten an email yet! @michelle has been great for me as well. Congrats on the retirement Michelle. I’m hoping to be there in about 15 years 😂

No, not accurate. While in TX waters they only serve alcoholic beverages upon which TX taxes have been levied…not necessarily beverages made in TX. The beverages must have a TX tax stamp on them but they can be beverages made anywhere.

If this is something you NEED, I would not leave it to Royal to provide it. I would suggest bringing your own. I believe there are disposables you could pack.

Momof4crazytocruise got a reaction from Pooch in Verizon in Puerto Rico?
Mine worked in PR, but when I called they said I needed to add the $10/day international plan, and that it would kick in when my phone hit the towers there. However, I was never charged, so I think the rep either didn't know PR was a US territory, or had incorrect information. My Verizon unlimited plan covered Mexico and Canada as well with no extra charges.

The “do I need a passport” thread is initialed every month or so. Although there are certain situations where birth certificates can be substituted, a) every American should have a passport, b) any name change requires an updated passport, c) all passports should be renewed BEFORE it is 6 months to expiration.

Momof4crazytocruise reacted to SpeedNoodles in Enhanced Driver's License for Cruise.
One of the problems with this is that if something happens that causes you to have to fly home from a foreign country, you need your passport.
People have had to fly home unexpectedly due to family issues, medical issues, issues with the ship that causes people to have to disembark in a foreign country and fly directly home.

Momof4crazytocruise reacted to Ryan79 in Enhanced Driver's License for Cruise.
I always take a passport no matter what. I don’t care if it’s a 3 day Ensenada cruise. As @SpeedNoodles said above, if there was ever an emergency where you need to get home for whatever reason…you aren’t going to be able to do that easily without a passport. If you have a passport, you aren’t almost asking for trouble by not bringing it.
