  1. So. This is tricky. We got into a sparkling clean, gloriously refreshing pool on Enchantment at about 10 am on the first sea day. We came back at 4pm, and OH MAN - between sunscreen, spilled drinks, and let's be real - urine - it was pretty cloudy and scummy. It was emptied and refilled over night. Again, gloriously clean water, and by the afternoon, eh, not so much. If I was post op, I wouldn't go anywhere near that pool after about 11am.
  2. We took $60 in 1's for a 5 night for the 2 of us, and that wasn't nearly enough. So I would take at least 100 (or as suggested above, just go get more when you need them!)
  3. Try 'buying it' - or completing the transaction and see what it does. If you can add it to your cart, and you can complete the transaction, you're set.
  4. Gosh, solo cruising sounds AMAZING. As a college student I backpacked around Europe multiple time all by myself - and loved it! I met so many people and tried so many things and did it all by my schedule and my preferences. As an actual adult with a family, that isn't in the cards anymore, but I could see the husband endorsing a short 3-4-nighter cruise for me to get some "me time". Of course, he loves to cruise, too - so he would probably more likely want to tag a long. Some day though!
  5. Honestly, I don't see this happening. They would lose a huge customer base, and a majority chunk of their Casino business. No way they implement this. More restrictions on smoking areas? Maybe. Perhaps installation of better ventilation systems in the Casino - that would be a better investment, in my opinion. And this is coming from someone with a severe allergy to smoke. If I can walk through a Casino in Vegas, I know there are filtration systems that are pretty advanced. Why not implement that?
  6. I have plastic zip up file folder I got at Office Depot that I keep our travel documents and identification all together. After check in, everything goes back into the folder, zipped up, into the backpack or tote until we get to the room, then it's transferred to the safe until departure morning.
  7. The beaches in Grand Cayman are beautiful. But in principle, I am not a fan of tendering, and I was not happy with how they rushed us off the ship based on our excursion times, but neglected to tell us that we arrived early, and ended up rushing to get on the tender boats, only to find our excursion didn't adjust, and we were 2 hours early for it. As first time cruisers, we didn't know any better. I would much rather have a docked port. I didn't mind Falmouth, but we planned from the get go just to go to a private beach club. It was lovely.
  8. I find an extra buck or 2 thrown at the bartender or the pool servers gets me exceptional and expedited service. Shoot, last cruise I didn't even have to get out of the pool, they came to me! We simply look at it like this: that $1 extra a drink makes a way bigger difference to these guys than it does to us. We had nothing but exceptional service from our bar servers. They took care of us, we took care of them. And we did it fully realizing that we had already paid 18% gratuity into the pot.
  9. After I took matters into my own hands and went to the webpage and looked myself. About 2 days later I got the email invitation.
  10. So when I had this happen, it was because my husband was logged into our reservation in the cruise planner, and hadn't logged out. We were both trying to look at stuff and coordinate dinner reservations - we were on separate reservations that were tied together - and it didn't like us both trying to make changes. Once he logged out, I could log in, and vice versa.
  11. Somebody get that Captain a raise (and a shot of tequila) -- WOW
  12. I changed my whole passport after I checked in, and nobody cared ? I can't imagine this will be an issue. But, couldn't hurt to call. I think as long as the name matches the reservation, you should be good to go.
  13. I noticed on Enchantment a few weeks ago, when I went to check the mattress piping seams for "evidence" (a habit I have picked up over the years due to the "fear") - and noticed that they had the mattress encased in a protective covering. This was reassuring.
  14. We pay the daily gratuities, and then carry cash for extra tipping. When we are out of small bills, we add it to the sea pass. $1/drink. $5-10/meal. It goes a long way. $10-20/day at the end of the cruise for the cabin steward ($10 if we are by ourselves, $20 if our kids are with us). I like giving cash because it goes directly into their pocket. We also find that we get exceptional service when we do this (on top of the amazing service we were already getting).
  15. mine just said GTY and I got my guaranteed balcony.
  16. Out doors. And it's HOT in Galveston... don't be the one late guy that holds us all up! That guy sucks ? #lifegoals #dontbethatguy #nobodylikesthatguy
  17. The only things I used the app for on our last cruise was to verify what time I made dinner reservations, and to check the folio charges (and found an extra drink charged to our account, but we had drink packages). Honestly didn't think it that useful.
  18. That you need to keep checking the cruise planner to get the best prices, and that you can cancel a sale and repurchase if the price goes lower (sometimes only for a few hours).
  19. If it's got booze in it, it's included. Only the extra super premium spirits and wines, you'll be charged for the overage from the $12-13 limit. Your preferred Smirnoff Ice, or whatever, are definitely included if they carry them.
  20. My husband packed his in his suitcase and no issue (incidentally my bag, which contained zero electronics, was pulled to the naughty room for, I can only assume, the can of air freshner, which incidentally was ALSO for my husband...) Also, if you ask, they'll provide you a gallon of distilled water and an extension cord for your machine.
  21. We got off last Monday! We LOVED Enchantment! Beautiful ship, great crew. The cruise director Bobby is a HOOT! Enjoy!
  22. oh no! Kids under 5 are not allowed in the bunks as a general rule. Up to you if you want bypass that, but our room steward was adamant that my 3 year-old son not sleep in the top bunk. Hopefully it's a pull out bed!
  23. Royal Caribbean didn't like my dates I put in (mine expired like 6-month minus 1 day of our return). I wasn't going to renew, but talked to my travel agent and she recommended I do, because while 9 out of 10 of the people checking probably wouldn't bat an eye, I could get that ONE guy in training who would make a huge issue of it. I ended just going ahead and renewing because I would need it for my next cruise anyway. I guess just bring the other documentation (birth certificate, etc...) as a back up plan.
  24. It depends what kind of cabin you booked. Check your deck plans, and use the symbol next to your cabin number to see if it's 2 pullman beds (bunks that come down from the ceiling) or a pull out sofa. If you have the pullmans, you can put the main bed together for a king size, and then have the 2 bunks overhead. I wouldn't worry about being cramped. If you're doing cruising right, you're only in there to sleep and change.
