That's one way to look at it, @mom2mybugs

Also, might make people pay more attention to making sure their kids don't really waste food. Or you could just have the kids sit outside on the bench, go eat at Chops, packup some leftovers to bring them ... #BadDad_BadDad lol

if you do switch it to a card - be very mindful to check your balance during your cruise. you don't want to get hit with the cost of another cruise on your bill because of a lot of charges have a great cruise!

JS's have access to the CK for dinner only. Be warned - you'll get spoiled in there so all your future cruises will have to be in JS or above - lol Make sure to swing by there when you board to talk to the host about making any reservations if you want a specific time/night. That'll help you potentially avoid the crowded times have a great cruise! #AddictedToCK

Ha - turn the 'walking' track into a lazy river now, that would get some use. Take a gander at an old post here regarding the laundry service. If you are ok with spending the $$, then worth a shot to have it done for you. As for a dedicated laundry room for guests to use, probably not. Too many potential issues / complaints as @CyclingVa mentioned. Now, maybe adding a small stackable set in some of the bigger suites ?? now that might draw a little more attention

They aren't as strict as they have been in the past with the whole 'formal' night. His usual dinner clothes should be completely fine when going to dinner. They might frown if it was a bathing suit and tank top then you might be buffeting it. Have a relaxing fun cruise!

"Plus, kids ages 6-12 now dine at our specialty restaurants for only $10. Ages 5 and under eat free! Plus, little cruisers get their very own menu — a round-up of kid-friendly favorites from the “grownups” menu. *Reserve before you sail, and prices will be adjusted for kids once you are aboard, and reflected in your final account statement."

I think you are missing the point of traveling in star class , one phone call to Derick and the Captain would have aligned the ship to resolve this issue, after all it was sunny somewhere so why not over your balcony
lol - hey Derick, tell the Captain to cruise backwards so we can get the sun on our balcony

Yolo, Thanks for the heads up.
As a family we like MDR, but I'm looking forward to trying CK at least once.
heh - you may find that you'll like the CK a little more as @Lovetocruise2002 says ... #teamCK
Have a great cruise!

Ok, just tossing this out as a reference in case it helps. On 4/26/19, got an email from the RoyalUp program for our cruise on Anthem (9-nights) sailing on 6/6/19 (~41 days out)
We are in the Owner's Loft and got offered to upgrade to the Royal Loft Suite for STARTING AT $1,200 pp
Once you click the 'SEE' button, you get this screen
When moving the slider - it STARTS at the $1,200 and goes up to the $2k mark.
( the slider increments by $10 )
We have 4 people in our room (2 adults / 2 kids), but here it seems to only be wanting to charge us for 2 guests. So, IF I continued and won the bid at $1,450 pp then I would be charged an extra $2,900 to upgrade our current suite to the Royal Loft Suite.
There's a 'continue' at the bottom but if I want to cruise next year, I need to restrain from clicking it (oh, and wifey said don't touch it) lol

Question for you. I got the key for my hubby and i for our cruise leaving this weekend on the anthem of the seas. I didn’t hear anything about priority boarding will they know we have the key when we go to check in? I have already checked in online.
Thank you!
As soon as you get to the port, make sure to find someone who can direct you to the key location - might be a special area for ya'll to go. Also, just as a backup, make sure to bring a print out of a receipt or something showing you purchased the key. have a great cruise! we head out on Anthem in just over 5 weeks

Its so much fun to dress up. A couple times, people thought I was part of the 70's show and they made a path down the promenade for me to get thru.
Yeah, and then you get people wanting to take pictures with you. #WhatHappensOnTheCruise .... uh .... gets posted elsewhere lol

Only Star Class will have their genie/porter take their luggage and follow you all the way to the room, all others will need to let the porters take it.
-
Also - if going on a water excursion, take a couple of towels (don't lose them) and maybe a change of clothes. Cram all that into a backpack, along with the list from @JLMoran.

Taking Harmony in June. We have a JS. How and when can I make reservations at CK? The dinning space looks amazing on line and everyone's commits have got me itching to give it a go.
My DD's, ages 17 and 15 are in an adjoining ocean view balcony cabin. Will they be allowed to join us at dinner?
we never really needed reservations for the CK - you just show up and they'll seat you. Now, if you want to be 'safe' then you can make reservations with the CK host once on board. Sometimes, it was busy in there (sea days or at like 7pm when everyone wants to eat)
Your guests in the OVB won't have access to the CK. Only JS (dinner only) and higher suite guests.

How quickly do they get the suites turned over? We've got a 2BR ATS on Oasis in June. We're planning to arrive at the port around 10:30... I assumed the Genie would be taking us straight to the room, but perhaps I assume too much? I suppose we can enjoy the lounge until the Genie gets us. First time in a suite and we intend to get every bang for our buck. Lol.
We had a 2BR ATS on Oasis in 2017, got to the port about 1030 also and was in the room by just after 11. Our genie (Alan), escorted us from the curb, past lines, got our cards then plopped us down in a waiting area for about 10 minutes, then it was straight to the room. You'll have a blast and be spoiled

A quick question i have for those that have traveled in Star Class and had friends come along who were not in Star Class.
Yeah - ya'll will be spoiled and your friends will be jealous. But hey, once you go SC - you are *cough* bound *cough* to always book SC for all future cruises - lol

I have no personal experience with that one, but I just want to throw out that I personally like being a bit away from the port area. We usually fly in, grab a rental car at the airport, stay wherever we want in the area (generally cheaper and offsets the car rental/gas), and then have a car to go wherever we want. The next morning, we drop it off at the port and the shuttle takes us straight to the ship. The flexibility of having the car and going wherever we want is awfully nice, and as a result we never really have a desire or need to stay near the port.
Ha - you're brave We fly in the day before our cruises but prefer to walk most everywhere or get an Uber. The thought of me trying to navigate in an unknown area and not get lost would stress me out - lol ... plus, trying to get a rental back the day we board our cruise ... yeah - I already stress myself out with being so anxious to get from the hotel to the port and on the cruise with everything and everyone

I'm curious to find out where the points go from the Oasis cruise we just got back from yesterday, that will add another 14.
You'll need to wait a few weeks before your last cruise set of points will get updated on the site. About 2 weeks I think, but might be up to 4. Also, with all the potential confusion, make sure that everyone has the OWN C&A number and that somehow someones number didn't get miss-assigned to someone else.

Does this mean that if the children are diamond plus, and I am not, that I can get thir status as they are a relation to me, under 18, and live In the same house?
That's a good question - not sure that it goes in 'reverse'. I mean, wow - what nice parents to have to send kids on their own cruises to get to Diamond + lol

Another thing to keep in mind is that 'formal night' is not required. It is optional for those who want to dress up formally and take some really cool nice pictures. We did that the first few times we cruised, but now we forgo the formal night stuff We also don't do the formal night in the main dining room, as we usually go eat either at the Coastal Kitchen or a specialty restaurant.

Should be able to hang out till maybe 9:30/10 or so. But then everyone has to be off so they can get ready to load the next round of cruisers.
