  1. Yes you are correct. There was just 2 of us and it was a spa Junior Suite. It spoiled us.
  2. We also like the plastic holders for your luggage tags. Before sailing you will print out luggage tags that Royal Caribbean has you staple or tape to your luggage prior to boarding to deliver luggage to your room. You can purchase plastic holders for these tags on amazon. Makes it much easier and helps ensure your tags stay on.
  3. We were on Ovation and I couldn’t agree more about the extra 1/2 bath. We also enjoyed the separate shower and bathtub. We are now spoiled and disappointed by other ship bathrooms!!!
  4. So when is the time to start looking for Summer 2021 Sailings? Any help is needed. Can’t decide if I want to return to Alaska, which I absolutely loved, or look at Norway sailings. TIA
  5. What class is the 1 bedroom Grand Suite on the new Odyssey ship.
  6. On the Ovation, which is a Quantam class ship, there were not hot teas or plunge pools in the thermal spa.
  7. We recently purchased the thermal spa pass on Ovation. It included the use of Saunas, steam rooms and thermal beds as well as showers to use in between the steams and saunas. It was a quiet smaller respite from the crowds and we loved resting on the thermal beds, which are tiled heated loungers.
  8. We sailed Ovation to Alaska in May in a Junior Suite. We loved it and you will love the suite benefit of eating Dinner at Voastal Kitchen instead of the Large Main Dining room. It’s superb. When you board go by Coastal Kitchen and make reservations for your evening dinners. You will love the smaller size and more personal dining. Only Quantum and Oasis class have this special dinning venue and we will miss it when we sail on Explorer next year.
  9. We are leaving September 27, 2020 on a similar 9 day Greek Isles cruise. Love all of the info offered about the ports and excursions. Any thoughts on the weather durin last of September and beginning of October.
  10. If you are signed up for My Time Dining you should be able to go into your Cruise Planner and make reservations in advance for 2. I have never been seated with other people in My Time Dining. If you grow to really like a waiter or a table location then you can request that location for your upcoming reservations you have already made through Cruise Planner. If you are signed up for MDR traditional seating times then doing everything above is necessary to assure you get your table for 2 during your assigned time instead of being seated with a larger table or strangers as was traditionally done.
  11. I would go ahead and make reservations now, choosing the times available closest to what you would reserve if avaialable. Go to dining room once on board and check if any better times are available. If not you can go to the dining room and check in early or go to the no reservation line and see if you get seated any earlier. Sometimes we went early and checked in with our later reservation and were able to get seated a little earlier. On the Oasis class ships they had bars at the waiting area for the dining seating and we would grab a drink while we waited. Having said all that, getting a table for 2 as stated above is a lot different than trying to be seated for a large table the same way.
  12. We attended the class on Ovation in May and loved it. It is one of those rare cruise activities I can say felt like a "good deal". After completeing the three sushi items, there was a good amount to eat, making the class well worth the price considering the price of sushi per roll. We learned a lot, were given the recipes to make our own once home, took some great pictures in our chef hats and left armed to be "great sushi chefs". I kid, but we have made sushi together once since returning and that is something we had never done before! I (We) highly recommend the class. Enjoy your upcoming cruise.
  13. Our Juneau excursion was cancelled at the last minute so we jumped on an excursion that included both viewing the glacier and whale watching. We initially avoided the whale watching tours because we figured we see one or two from our balcony on the ship, which we did but nothing like the tour. Turns out the whale watching turned out to be one of the highlights and the pictures were fabulous. The whales we watched happen to be right in front of one of the many small glaciers in Alaska which made the pictures fabulous. I don't think you will be disappointed.
  14. One morning I forgot to grab my husband's card and they were able to confirm his package at the register with just name and cabin number. Off I went back to the room with both premium coffees in hand!
  15. Was your 2021 cruise you booked to Alaska? We would love to do that Itinerary again. TIA
  16. Sounds fabulous. What ship or ships did you cruise for both cruises? We are scheduled todo Greek Isles September 2020 on explorer. We looked at Canary Islands also. Would be interested to hear about the highlights you enjoyed. Also looking at a Norway/ Iceland cruise. Thanks for your input.
  17. Our Uber was directed by the traffic directors to the rideshare drop off. It is a designated area by the port. The drop off area is inside the port area but still about a 7-10 minute walk to the ship/boarding check-in area. There was a lot of yelling at the Uber/Lyft drivers trying to get them to drop off at their drop off area.
  18. Our Uber was directed by the traffic directors to the rideshare drop off. There was a lot of yelling at the Uber/Lyft drivers trying to get them to drop off at their drop off area. It really wasn't much of a hassle to walk. We had rolling luggage and the walk did not bother us. Taxis are allowed to drop off in front of port. We did hear that the later in the day you arrive the worse the traffic gets in and out of port. We arrived early and the traffic was smooth sailing going into the port. Enjoy your cruise. It's one I'd do over in a minute.
  19. Do you know which pier you are sailing out of? We sailed on Ovation and left out of Pier 91. We sailed out of there and the Uber drop off was about a 10 minute walk to port. They do have a shuttle I believe if you don’t want to walk it. We didn’t find it to be too much of a hassle. I second bring binoculars. We got to port at 930. It was a bit disorganized but we were first sailing from that port for the year.
  20. Just finished cruising on Ovation which also had a Coastal Kitchen. I was unable to reserve Coastal Kitchen in advance through cruise planner and was told by others on another message board you couldn't. Upon boarding we visited Coastal Kitchen for reservations pretty quickly. We did not reserve all nights and had no problem reserving the next night as we left dinner the night before. Ovation is smaller than Oasis so it makes it hard to compare in that regard. We loved eating at the Coastal Kitchen. The fact that the Kitchen was only preparing for a very small number of tables compared to MDR, made a huge difference in the quality as served so quickly. Happy Anniversary and enjoy.
  21. Will it include the “happy hour” benefit
  22. We are staying in a two bedroom grand suite on a non oasis/quantum ship. Is ther still a concierge lounge as a perk on those ships?
  23. Will be leaving from the port in Citavechia Italy on a Greek Isles cruise. Would like recommendations on places to stay near port night before cruise.
  24. Will Explorer when it is redone in 2020 be like the new,y revamped Independence.now?
