  3. I hope to be on Oasis for May 3rd sailing.. Canadian advisory Avoid all cruise ship travel The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) is recommending that Canadians avoid all cruise ship travel due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak. Cruise passengers include travellers from around the world who may be arriving from areas with known or unknown spread of COVID-19. The virus can spread quickly on board cruises due to the close contact between passengers. Older people and people with a weakened immune system or underlying medical condition are at a higher risk of developing severe disease. Recent cruise ship outbreaks of COVID-19 indicate that a large number of individuals onboard can become infected. While the majority of affected passengers may experience mild symptoms, there have been a significant number of cases requiring hospitalization and critical care, and some deaths have been reported. As the situation evolves, many countries are implementing policies and restrictions in order to contain the outbreak. These restrictions may impact a cruise traveller's: itinerary ability to disembark access to health care If an outbreak of COVID-19 occurs on your cruise ship: you could be subject to quarantine procedures, on-board ship or in a foreign country the range of consular services available to those on cruise ships, in particular in situations of quarantine, may be significantly restricted by local authorities upon return to Canada, you will be required to remain in mandatory isolation for 14 days at a location determined by the Chief Public Health Officer as per the terms of any applicable emergency orders The decision on Minimizing the Risk of Exposure to COVID-19 Coronavirus Disease in Canada Order (Persons Not on Government Flight) is effective from February 19 to April 30, 2020. Canadians who choose to voyage on a cruise ship should also be aware that they may not be offered the opportunity to return to Canada on a government-organized repatriation flight, or could be responsible for the costs of repatriation travel.
  4. I booked my flight in the last week of Feb. so this is out of Air Canada's window of Mar 4 to Mar 31.
  5. so what's the current CDC/Government protocol for after a cruise? I honestly don't think they will put all cruisers coming off the ship to serve a 14 days quarantine cycle.. just curious
  6. Via I-95 is the shortest route 22 h 33 min. Last time we drove to Florida we used this route Via I-75 was 24hrs
  7. Iran's answer to the Corona Virus was to temporarily release 54,000 inmates in order to avoid spread in prisons
  8. you can use MEI Travel. They support our forum..
  9. I found a solution for my cruise this May. I will be ready for embarkation lol . now if they can only make an air conditioned version that would be sweet..
  10. we went to our local Costco, and it was a disaster. it was a mess, and the staff couldn't keep up, each customer had a minimum of 2 carts full..
  11. When working with a travel agent, they do ask for your Passport when completing the booking. So that info gets sent to RCL to create the reservation. I'm wondering if the have procedures in place to check each passport for travel history?
  12. with all that is happening with the world, work and our kids, Our happy place is being on the ship. And i feel better that my parents will be taking care of our kids while we are away.
  13. I still plan on going, this Virus is not going to deter my wife and I in taking a little vacation away from work and kids. Damn We need a break. and I fully expect for RCL to be diligent in their screening process in prior to embarkation. Also that goes with the passengers prior in embarkation, hope they are truthful about their health and do the right thing it goes both ways..
  14. that's too bad, I just booked the same ship and date, can't wait

  18. Ok, found more info, this is not looking good for the Tour operator!!!! , but what about Royal ? Quote "Scientists have revealed the frightening signs the 321 meter volcano was about to erupt in the weeks leading up to Monday's explosion." Quote" 'It showed increased activity for the last few weeks and so we raised the alert level,' GeoNet Project Director Dr Ken Gledhill told a press conference on Monday afternoon. 'It has quietened down, but we can't be certain there won't be another eruption in the next 24 hours.' Dr Ken Gledhill said it wasn't a 'particularly big eruption' and likened it to the volcano 'clearing its throat'. 19. Mt St Helens erupted after 3 months or so of studied activity Ex: tremors, growth on one side (buldge)
  20. from the past few months, i have been on a knowledge hunt, studying Volcanoes. As for this one, from what i have read, It's listed as an active Volcano... as for the eruption, there was little to no warning, hence why people were spotted inside the volcano and the rim. Normally all Volcano will show signs of activity before an event. Most of all Volcano around the globe are studied. GPS electronic devises are setup on the volcanos to measure movement.. Sad
  21. when I book cruises with my TA, we always use the "a Guarantee room" option
