  1. Talk to the bar manager and find out which sommelier they recommend as the most experienced, then talk to that person about what interests you. There are sometimes one-off bottles or limited supplies of wine that don’t make it to the menu. Never hurts to ask!

Also, if you can catch the last one or two sailing before a ship heads to dry dock you can get some great wine deals as they empty their cupboards! 😄

  2. I hadn't gotten emails for years, even after switching to a gmail address. Then a month ago I called C&A for an unrelated reason and they went through all my information, confirming it was still valid. Suddenly I'm getting emails.

I think even though I changed my email on the website, the database was still clinging to my old hotmail address that never worked for the marketing emails.

    Worth a shot.

  3. Just got our cruise docs for our March 5 departure and I noticed that bringing soda or water onboard during embarkation is no longer allowed. Curious if anyone else has seen this? Might just be a Barbados thing. I just wouldn't want anyone to be surprised by a change if this is a new direction:

"Guests are not allowed to bring beer, hard liquor, fortified wines (vermouth, sherry, sake, and port wines) or nonalcoholic beverages onboard for consumption or any other use. Guests may bring personal wine or champagne onboard only on embarkation day, limited to two (2) bottles (no boxes) of 750 mi per stateroom. Wine should be brought onboard via carry on if possible. Luggage containing wine or champagne will not be delivered to the stateroom and guests will need to retrieve their luggage from security once the ship has set sail."

no covid requirements or visa, but there is a travel form we have to fill out according to this.

I fly to Bridgetown a day and half before the cruise.

Your airline should handle advising you of that kind of requirement, since they’re on the hook if they transport you without making sure you meet requirements. As far as Royal is concerned you just magically appeared at the ship at your assigned boarding time 🤣

    Good Day to All

I chose to start a new request, because I was really getting confused trying to go through the previous discussions about this.

My husband and I have a (hopefully) simple question.

if we do not purchase a beverage package, what is the cost of a simple cup of coffee or a soft drink? I’m just not sold on the price of the beverage package (which to me is ridiculous that you have to pay for non-alcoholic beverages?) BUT what am I going to end up paying if I don’t reserve it?  We’re rarely alcoholic drinkers, maybe one or two each - and probably not even everyday.  Anyone have some advice? TIA
PS We’re sailing on the Enchantment of the Seas, Western Mediterranean Cruise to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary. Looking forward to visiting the ports in September

    Welcome to the boards!

A cup of coffee (rather than a latte or capp) will be free. A soda is $3.50

We have a cruise on Harmony of the seas starting February 12 we get in February 11 from our flight but I noticed that our passport will expire on 20 February can I just use my birth certificate for the cruise. But I checked in with my passport will they say anything or I will just lose my money if I get turned away

    Welcome to the boards!

Just bring both your passport and your birth certificate. I'm guessing you're on a closed-loop cruise from Ft Lauderdale? And you're American? If so you should be able to use your birth certificate if your passport is questioned.

  7. Is this your first cruise in the Med? If so, I would do Voyager -- spend the savings on great shore excursions (Private Journeys or 3rd party or whatever). When we were in the Med we made sure we ate on shore at lunch as much as we could, so dining on the ship was less important. We just weren't much hungry at the end of the day 🙂

Like you we sail mostly in suites, but on the port-intensive trips we often just do a JS, especially with our Diamond drinks. There just isn't time for the suite/concierge club most of the days.

It looks like they may have reevaluated this concept, it's a lot of real estate to dedicate 24/7/365 when they can still do the puzzle game in another public space during the day on just certain days to bundle demand.  the escape room itself sits empty all night and early morning when that space could be staterooms on top of the added cost of designing/installing/staffing a dedicated escape room vs having entertainment staff run it as another game type event.

we recently came across the same thing booking freedom, there are various press releases, deck plans and other press stories online that mention an escape room will be added on top deck 15 during Freedom's recent amplification (as with Navigator) but on the official deck plans, cruise planner etc now there obviously is not one aboard Freedom.  doesn't make or break my cruise, we have done the room on symphony and navigator and really enjoyed it, but i understand royal's reasons for not having it too.  as it says in the cruise contract and all over Royal's site, exact amenities and availability are subject to change without notice, not every feature is aboard every ship for every sailing.  frustrating, sure, but also just a reality of running a diverse fleet.

Not to mention if Wonder ends up back in the China market they'll just have to take it out again anyway.
