Our category has not sold out. It is after final payment and was watching for affordable upgrades. Pulled the trigger this morning and now in a GS. Net additional cost will be under $400. :)

I'm just happy I got my upgrade in at the amount it was. That in itself I'm still thinking was a fluke. Was quoted twice as much a hour earlier for the lower category.

Know the feeling too well. Think this the second or third time I've done an upgrade within the four week window.
I'm still surprised at how suites have started to fall on this sailing. Then again the prices were jacked up fairly quick after bookings had opened.

Yes, just tell concierge you need 4 bracelets instead of two.  Don't say why or explain, just ask for it very matter-of-factly.  They won't bat an eye.

The wife says I am obsessed with cruising and everything that comes along with it. This time I actually agree with her. LoL
Almost daily I check the prices of our booked cruises, flights and hotels. Prices go up and down and I notify our agent to take advantage of reductions if they exceed $20. Last night I noticed the largest price drop ever, but sadly it's AFTER final payment. Our May Harmony sailing in a JS dropped $750 and JS guarantee is about $1500 less than we paid. I know there is nothing we can do about it other than consider paying to upgrade to a GS for a total of almost $700.
We love love loved our GS on Liberty, but paid far less than what we did for the JS on Harmony. Just have to decide if the extra perks are worth it. I know that we would use the complimentary luggage valet, Suite lounge occasionally, the suite sun deck and definitely take advantage of Barefoot beach on Labadee. My only concern with Barefoot beach is that we are traveling with another couple and they will not upgrade to a Suite. Will they allow access to them if they are with us or is that only if we rent a Cabana?

Yes it does! We booked it last year and are really looking forward to it!

I just did the sushi making class on the Allure last week.  I completely enjoyed it! The class was very informative and fun at the same time.  We made 4 different types of sushi, crunchy shrimp roll, spicy tuna roll, California hand roll, and shrimp nigiri. The day after my class, I took my wife back to Izumi to try some more for a pre-dinner snack and my teacher/chef was working.  He guided us on our selection and also made us a special creation that was on the house.

I saw that on our Nov Navigator cruise and thought it was something new. I am hoping the wife will book a spa treatment and I will be "On a Roll".

It's my understanding that they place your SeaPass card just outside your cabin door. If you board ship early and cabins are not ready until 1 pm, how do you make purchases prior to getting your card?

I'm not sure if I'll be able to make this cruise as we're sailing in Japan shortly thereafter, but I may try to come up for a pre-cruise meet up if there is one.

The "year" for cruising runs from April to April.  April '18 to April '19 contains the summer '18 sailings in Alaska.
