we paid $129. It was fun and I'd recommend it as a one time experience until they get some new stories

Is this normal when making reservations?

On the website you should be able to click on "order history" if you see it there I think you're ok if not I would say it didn't go thru -
What's the scariest thing when you cruise?
loki007 replied to Matt's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Definitely the Passport..I am also OCD when it comes to the Passports (checking several times even though I know I have them). Xmas 2023 we were sailing on Celebrity Apex out of Fort Lauderdale. Our son lives in Daytona Beach and was meeting us at the hotel the night before embarkation. I sent him a text reminder in the afternoon, when he rolled up at 11PM the first thing I asked him was "did you remember your passport"...the look on his face. Back in the car for the 7 hour round trip. At least we discovered it the night before. Could have been a disaster. -
I had a lot of trouble getting the system to allow me to buy the Royal Beach Club day pass that was 50% off. I tried several days on the computer and it would not work, finally worked in the app

I will definitely take less cruises if I am now paying for the second guest regardless of what the discount is. This seems like a short sighted money grab.

Must Sights in Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca & Provence (Marseilles)
loki007 replied to JeffH's topic in Shore Excursions
Barcelona is so incredible. Sagrada Familia has already been mentioned and is a must. I would also just take a walk down Las Ramblas and thru la Boqueria https://www.boqueria.barcelona/home we love Barcelona Really didn't care much for Marseille. We walked up to the Cathedral (its a hike) and had lunch in the square. Don't stop too long or you might get painted with graffiti -
sounds like its sold out but website hasn't been updated

i agree with you. Some people are social and enjoy sitting with strangers, some people (me included) would not enjoy that. They should definitely accommodate your simple request.

Time to level the playing field: Chair Hogs
loki007 replied to tonyfsu21's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I don't worry about chair hogs...I get up early and find myself a nice spot and then enjoy it all day. I'm always amused when people are wondering around the solarium at 11 or 12 and can't believe there are no chairs...proceed to the upper deck please -
we just did the ABC islands and love them all. They are all different and awesome in their own way. Definitely our favorite itinerary, just need Perfect Day added.

we were on reflection 3x last year, thats a great ship. If you haven't tried an Edge class yet you need to, they are incredible.

We are stopping in Puerto Plata on our December cruise from 11a-6p. We are interested in a beach day. There are two (rather expensive) ship excursions to Hotel Emotion or Hotel Senator. Both are all inclusive day passes. Curious if anyone has been to either of these and could offer a recommendation or is there somewhere else we should go? Thanks

I've rented one on Odyssey on a sea day. I don't think there really is any reason to rent one on a Port day as there would be plenty of seating available. The solarium on Indy is also a great place if you don't have kids with you.

Really depends on what you are looking for. We like Senior Frogs for some nachos and a couple drinks. Its loud and can be funny. Food is pretty good.

Odyssey deck 11 aft bad for movement?
loki007 replied to shan9219's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
won't even notice it unless there are particularly rough seas....then it just rocks you to sleep. -
we were on Utopia 2 weeks ago and remember my wife commenting on how much fun our kids would have had on that ship (they are in their 20's now) the splash pad was crazy, we would have been there all day.
-
We did not care for Odyssey, I agree with you assessment of Izumi, what an odd place for it. I always felt weird walking between tables as you pass by. Its just a very poor layout, we prefer Oasis class but to each his own. Playmakers at the back of the ship in the seaplex is so out of the way. After recently cruising on Utopia, the Oasis ships just flow so much better and manage the crowds much better

Freedom vs Symphony March 2025
loki007 replied to BrandonParker's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I would always choose Oasis class over Freedom. Freedom is a great ship but Oasis class are awesome, especially with kids -
I think all the daybeds are by the DJ and pool bar also (loud). We have been to Hideaway 4 times and we love just grabbing chairs in front of "on the Rocks" bar as you walk in. There are always plenty of chairs and there is live music at the bar. The pool is a 60 second walk if you want to go cool off.

FLL would be a 10 minute Uber to the Port, Mia probably 40 minutes

Am I missing something regarding Wifi packages
loki007 replied to Peter D's topic in Celebrity & SilverSea
Premium access is basically 'the Key" on Celebrity and includes premium wifi. If you can get it for $17.99/day grab it -
I would think it will be open tomorrow. i know Utopia delayed their return until Saturday but that was more to get out of the storms path.
