  1. If you already purchased something on the cruise planner, and your OBC shows up after that (which is what is happening in my case), the only way to apply it would be to cancel the purchase and repurchase using the OBC.
  2. Matt has done several podcasts and blogs from his Brilliance cruises. You can go to the main page of the site and type "Brilliance" into the search bar at the top right of the page. One of the things I like about the older classes (Radiance and Vision) is that they DON'T have the Promenade (I'm in the minority here, I know, but it just looks like a shopping mall and I hate those - I tended to avoid that part of the ship).
  3. No, when you purchase the drink package the gratuity will be added on prior to check out. If you feel someone is deserving of a tip above that when you are on the ship, that's your prerogative and I'm sure appreciated, but it is not expected.
  4. You won't be able to find it, Royal will send you an email if it's available. I got one in December for my Feb 2019 Mariner sailing (right when the program began). I haven't received one for Ovation this upcoming June (which has been all but sold out for at least a month now, so I doubt I'll even bother if it does come out. No way would I even get a winning bid on this ship anyway).
  5. OMG, I hope that I can find a pet sitter for all of these!!!
  6. I have zero answers, but I'm totally envious - I'd love to go!
  7. As people reminded me, everyone has a different idea of what "chilly" is. I walked around the upper deck on Mariner the first week of February with short sleeves and was extremely comfortable (and happy .... can I please go back?), whereas some others had light sweaters on. I'm from Minnesota. The other day it hit 45 degrees here and people were out in shorts. It's all perspective. I'm less tolerant to wind (which was very much lacking on my Mariner cruise, thankfully). Unless you are a huge freeze baby (and I do use this term with kindness!) you shouldn't need more than a very light sweater or cardigan for evenings on an exposed deck, if that.
  8. Ah, shoot - a portion of them do have theirs during the week of Feb 20 (although mostly smaller ones). I am a bit concerned about the Royal Military College of Canada, though. I've heard they are karazy!!!
  9. I booked Feb 20, 2021 (and Feb 22, 2020). Hopefully I won't regret those dates.
  10. I just booked the equivalent JR suite 8088 on Vision's sister ship, Rhapsody. The balcony is huge, and with the double C&A points I just could not resist. The price difference wasn't that steep for me, though. It was only $400 total. Not sure I would have done it at $1500 on a ship that wasn't Oasis or Quantum. Only you can decide if it's worth it to you.
  11. I'm not sure if the app is available for Vision yet, but even if it is, the chat feature is only available on a couple of Oasis Class ships at this time.
  12. I'm curious - how long is that lazy river? We're NUTS for lazy rivers, and have Costa Maya as one of our stops on an upcoming cruise.
  13. I noticed this with my mixed drinks (ok, Kracken Coladas). While I never saw the drinks being made, I'm quite the lightweight when it comes to drinking and I never once felt buzzed from any mixed drink. I had ONE Strongbow from Playmakers and could feel it (seriously, I'm a lightweight).
  14. I can't wait to retire to Washington State. You have THE BEST ciders. Plus most of my friends are already there. I've wanted to bring cider but I'm sure Royal would think it's beer.
  15. I my own photo at home and uploaded it. It takes about 30 seconds.
  16. I flew carry on only so I wasn't able to bring my own shampoo, etc, but stayed in a hotel the night before, so I took the little bottles of nice shampoo/conditioner and soaps when I left and used those on the cruise (granted, only a 4 night cruise, it lasted just fine).
  17. I never had problems getting my wine pretty quickly on Mariner, BUT I didn't order anything very obscure - just the one Reisling that they seem to have had widely available. I think I'll employ this strategy on Ovation, though, just to be safe!
  18. Anyone else sick to death of people sending articles about this to them, apparently as some sort of warning as to why you should not cruise, or are my friends just jerks?
