  1. Comes down to your phone provider. Some will offer weekday/weekend local numbers for free depending on the plan you have with them The UK number begins 0344 which is classed as "Local" so would be inclusive of your free local calls. Outside of these times/allowances the call would be 13p a minute
  2. Another good reason to use a TA Let them fight with the system issues and talk with Royal on your behalf
  3. I didn't have an issue with the Wow Band, worked very well for us on Anthem though we did get it for free so that may have influenced my opinion Never heard that rule regarding taking them off in the water, we went in to the pool with them on most days. The plastic band didn't really bother me as I wear my fitbit and its band is plastic as well so I guess I'm used to that. If I had to point at a negative I would say that taking off the band for the drinks, but it was minor. I would rather do that then worry about my sea pass falling out of my shorts when at the pool I guess it does come down to peoples personal preference, for me the Wow band made my day that little bit easier and couple that with the fact I didn't have to pay for it made it a plus in my book
  4. Yea flights close to the time of cruise departure always make me nervous. My wife will tell you I am uber organised and will have things scheduled down to a tee. I'm not happy until my face is pressed up against the Cruise Terminal glass waiting for them to open, only then will I relax
  5. More like Pier Pressure ? ........ I'll see myself out
  6. Yea, I'll be honest it looks a good bit cheaper than the last ones. Looking the the images the plastic looks thinner. Yea not a fan, certainly no WOW to that change, even it if isn't RC making the change they are certainly a big enough client to push back on the vendor
  7. @princevaliantus - I think what they ment here is the first week of April 2019
  8. If you go into the description of the activity it should be under "Know Before You Go" Hopefully they will have put this in all activities that have an additional fee but the app is still a bit hit or miss with details at times
  9. Boy are those guys gonna be disappointed.... that or they'll claim that the Captain and the Crew where all in on it
  10. Like you say, these things happen and can be really disappointing but no one was seriously hurt and people around seemed to jump to help which is even better to see. There is always the vocal minority that will complain that something out of everyone's control has affected them and will/are demanding RC do more than they currently are because they are now inconvenienced. Its good to see that the ones on the board take it in their stride and look at other alternatives. Sets a good example for ones like myself who haven't experienced the disappointment of a cancelled cruise but if it does happen to me I hope I have learnt how to deal with it from yourselves.
  11. Thats a BIG difference. We had been looking at doing a TA in a year or so but doing it from the US and ending up in Southampton. This this has giving me reason to price things from the US site and see what we would get from there. Never would have thought that the difference would be as much as that.
  12. This may help you out https://www.icruise.com/cabins/royal-caribbean-cruises-harmony-of-the-seas-cabin-6310.html Has basic information on the stateroom but you'll be able to see on the deck plan where abouts you are
  13. Yea I think you're right, the longer the cruise the less and less you will get. You probably wont use the priority access to the Climbing wall more than twice I would reckon. There does appear to be a "sweet spot" for length of cruise @Jason12 I've just noticed your signature, you are getting on Allure as I'm getting off. One day I'll do a TA, one day
  14. I may have a look at it if it appears for our Allure sailing for next year and the price is right. Some of the bits and bobs we may not use (don't think theres any ports where we have to tender for example) but I think overall it would amplify the cruise. I do see some issues that would be good to avoid and hope they get ironed out, one of the recent comments made mention of the Activities and that the times weren't specifically for The Key and crew where advising just to jump the queue. I don't like doing things like that, I don't want to put anyone else out whos already queuing or anything like that. Also seems that some are getting a bit upset with people buying the key because they now have similar perks to someone to paid a lot more for a suite or someone with a higher C&A rank. Not sure how I feel on that one, I'm still a Platinum about to move to Emerald so will still be a while before I can get to Diamond perks so I don't have the feeling that The Key is stealing my perks but can understand why long standing members may see it this way. In the end I guess I'll make my own call if/when it goes up for our sailing
  15. Yea, I wouldn't risk the sharing. Like Jce2 mentioned they take a hard line on the breaking of the rules and can/will revoke the drinks package without refund. You can bring 12 cans of coke or whatever onboard. Believe they have to be in your carry on, that could be an option for you
  16. You can purchase Alcohol packages from the Royal Gifts that would be delivered to your room. I believe these are allowed to be consumed at your leisure in the stateroom Though with these there is a good bit of a mark up.
  17. Thankfully the only time one our our bags got lifted by mistake was on the way home from a month in Australia The bag was full of dirty clothes so I wasn't toooo annoyed by it, less washing for me to do. 3 days later the airport called us up to say that someone had come back and brought the bag back so all worked out in the end
  18. This is certainly an eye opener. I didn't realise that travellers in the UK could use US travel agents. Certainly would allow more options when looking at our next one. Cheers for all this research and info guys
  19. My rule of thumb for dining was a nice pair of dark jeans or chinos and a buttoned collared shirt. I kept the shirt loose (1/2 size bigger than I would normally wear) so I was comfortable (and so I could indulge). I wouldn't do t-shirts for the main dining room or Chops but for Windjammer you'd be fine on that. I will admit I do like to dress up (not like that :P) so when formal night rolls around I am all over it. Suited and Booted
  20. UK is the same, I've always tried to time things go we hit the Terminal just after 10AM regardless of what check in time they give on the set sail pass. That way you get on board early and can start enjoying. Once you hear that little beep of them checking your pass on board its like a huge weight gets lifted, instant de-stress
  21. I'm certain I've gotten though 25 drinks in a day before, Coffees, Sodas, Cocktails On of the big nights they had on Anthem the Music hall was hiving, myself, the wife and a few couples we got talking to over the week decided to go all out that night. The night was like the set up to a joke, an Englishman a Scotsman and an Irishman up at the bar, and we decided to try all the drinks on the menu to see which we liked best. Mine was the Old No. 7, much to the barman dismay as it takes about 5 minutes to make one properly. Fair play to the guy, those drinks where proper. Next morning the crew where going though on of their drills, we where off on an early excursion, as we passed one of the stairwells we spotted the Barman from the previous night and said hello. He look at me and asked "How the hell are you still standing?" Twas a good night :)
