    About Your Upcoming Travels
    space

    Dear Guest,

    We have discovered that Serenade of the Seas requires additional servicing beyond planned repairs and maintenance, which extends her currently scheduled dry dock period. To ensure that we meet our high standards, and due to the availability at the shipyard, we must advance the dry dock schedule. As a result, we’ll be canceling our upcoming March 9, 2025, sailing.

    We’re truly sorry for the impact that this has on your vacation plans. The time and effort you took to plan your cruise is important to us, so we’ve put together some alternate options that we hope will work for you and those in your party.

    1.  Yes.  You can dine (and use your package) with someone who does not have the package.  You will just need to let the restaurant know when you arrive that you are using your dining package.  If the others with whom you are dining have not pre-purchased their meal through the Cruise Planner prior to boarding, they will be paying full, onboard price, which is considerably higher.  Make sure they understand this.

    2.  No Hooked on Oasis, so no problem there.  The primary, full service specialty restaurants on Oasis are Chops, Giovanni’s Kitchen, 150 Central Park and Izumi.  If you’re not a seafood lover then Izumi is probably “out” for you.  I am personally not a fan of the menu at 150 CP but most people like it.  It is the most upscale of the specialty restaurants, IMO.

    3.  If you like steak, consider Chops.  If you like Asian, then maybe Izumi after all.

    Izumi's for the win!! No need for seafood and you get dinner and a show and more food than you can possibly eat. Oh and the Sake!!! yummm.

  3. I really do not understand this issue at all.

    1. I am on vacation.

    2. If I need to work then I am not on vacation and in the office.

    3. Emergencies? What am I going to do fly home in the middle of my cruise? I think not. There is nothing, no type of emergency at home that I would be able to do anything about until I get home and it can wait until then.

    4. Staying in touch with other members on my cruise... they can talk to me directly, if not it can wait until they see me or they can hunt me down. I am on vacation.

    Now not to dismiss what others needs are, but even if your house burns down or family members are hospitalized or die...what can you truly do about it on your cruise or even if you fly home?

    If i found out about such things then it would just ruin my cruise. Why do that? It can all wait until I get back.

    I have been on all three and would recommend Symphony 7 night to St Maarten, St Thomas and Nassau.  The Symphony is a very nice ship and you will get the full experience of a large ship that is a city on the water.  Don't worry about the amount of people it does not seem that crowded.  Here are a few notes;

    Same here. The main issue is you will need to sail on all 3. We have been on Allure once, Symphony twice and Oasis 3 times. Now we need to get to Harmony, Wonder and Utopia if they ever do longer that 3-4 day sailings.

    To add to this, don’t try to go into or out of Cozumel with an illegal substance. On Icon last week we saw a younger couple try to walk through the entry point at the port and were detained and searched by MEX police after the drug sniffing dog starting going berzerker. That night in the pub the couple that was with them said they were taken to the police station and shaken down for cash and did not make it back to the ship on time. Not good.

    Play stupid games win stupid prizes.
