  1. @smokeybanditWhat type of insurance did you have for this trip? Was it through RC, through someone else or none? I wonder if you would have gotten the same treatment if you had self-insured.
  2. I thought that the solarium area was adult only. Sure, minors can walk through but cannot use the facilities there. Am I wrong?
  3. I think there's a little advice from each of you that I will take. Thanks.
  4. Thanks Twangster. That is all I was looking for. My wife will be happy.
  5. No. I'm not going to ask it there are formal nights on RC ships. I know that formal nights have been watered down and are now kind of a "get a little dressed up and you will be ok" nights. Caribbean cruises are even more relaxed than that. My question is more about what do people do when they want to dress up for formal night? I am a s/w developer, so my normal attire is jeans/shorts and a tee shirt/polo shirt. My wife likes to get a little more dressed up. I would like to accommodate her and maybe wear a suit on formal nights. When I pack for a week cruise, my medium size suitcase is pretty full. I have not mastered the art of packing light, but I am working on it. If I want to add a suit, dress shirt, dress shoes, etc. my packing budget is blown and I will probably have a very wrinkled suit. I don't want to look like the 1930's debutantes on the Queen Mary that bring 10 big trunks just to carry my clothes, because I do not have a valet to dress me. How do you pack your formal night clothes? Steven
  6. I'm not sure anyone noticed. My tablemates enjoyed them, though.
  7. The last time I cruised, back in 2019, I was able to ask for the savory bites and they brought me some. In fact, they brought me some without asking every night for the remainder of the cruise.
  8. Question. Has this mixture of vaccines (e.g. Moderna & Phizer) actually been tested for it's effectiveness? If not, they made the right call.
  9. I checked with my private health insurance this morning. My insurance covers me internationally for emergency medical care and emergency medical evacuation. The only hiccup is that I may have to pay and then get reimbursed. Emergency only coverage is good enough for me. I doubt that I will be getting my annual physical in Rome before boarding my TA. I have to say that I was only interested in separate travel insurance for the medical and evac part of the policy. I don't care about travel delays and lost baggage coverage. If you want that, you probably need to get separate travel insurance.
  10. You won't find anything specific about Odyssey OTS yet. Go to YouTube and look for a walk-through of just about any RC connecting rooms and you can get an idea of what you are getting. I have been in one (just one side of the connection) on Mariner OTS and it was fine. No noise from could be heard from the other side. I obviously had considerate neighbors.
  11. Medical evacuation amount looks low to me. You can easily get some insurance for < $100 that has $500k for that.
  12. Apparently it is a major effort to change the main theater shows. This is normally done while upgrading during a dry dock, so this only happens every for or five years. Since no upgrading was done during the shutdown, I am thinking that all ships will have the same main show after shutdown as it had before. If I am incorrect, I am sure that I will be corrected.
  13. On the C&A grid it says that diamond level gets access to Diamond Club (and presumably drinks) subject to availability. I assume this means that not all ships have a Diamond Club. Do the new rules for drinks mean that diamond level gets their drinks even if a Diamond Club is not available?
  14. Do they roll over to the next day if unused?
  15. Thank you. I needed a confirmation and this got me there quickly.
  16. I never saw the answer to the initial question. Are the drinks loaded on your card to use at any time of the day or only at specific "Happy Hour" times?
  17. I understand that you cannot check in before your chosen time. What happens if you are late by an hour or more? Steven
  18. Which RC ships have the Quest scavenger hunt game? We participated on Liberty OTS and had a blast.
  19. The reason we took the RC sponsored excursion is because it is such a long day, with two ferry trips involved. If for any reason the tour is delayed (bus breakdown, traffic, bad seas that delay the ferry) your ship will wait for you. There are so many things that can potentially delay this excursion that I highly recommend the RC version. Sure, you can save a few bucks on one through Viator, but is it worth it? Not for me.
  20. My wife and I enjoyed the RC sponsored trip to Tulum. The ruins were interesting and the guides informative. Be aware, between the ferry and the bus tour, it is a long day
